Yoshimura R-77 Slip-On Exhaust Kawasaki Ninja 300

The R-77 is a perfect match for the Ninja 300. Its styling and internal dynamics complement this new bike exceptionally well. Not only does the R-77 enhance the aggressive styling, it provides an ample boost in horsepower and torque from mid-to-peak RPMs, just where you need it.

Improving styling and performance was not our only goal. The R-77 also reduced weight over the stock muffler, resulting in better handling, weight distribution, and fuel economy. Tearing up track has never been so much fun.

Slip-On includes R-77 muffler, stainless steel tail-pipe, low-volume insert, installation hardware, and detailed step-by-by instructions.

NOTE: This exhaust is CARB compliant. Please check local laws before purchasing. Some modifications may be prohibited in some states.

great product This exhaust looks and sounds awsome. With out the silencer it's a kinda loud but it's not to bad. April 27, 2015
It is very loud. It is very easy to install, took about 30 mins to install slowly. It has a nice rich growl and can be heard a mile away easily. It is very light April 6, 2015
Loud and catches attention I chose the stainless steel with carbon fiber cap, because it was cheaper and I thought it went better with my bike (2013 white ninja 300). A great improvement over stock muffler. There is a youtube video comparing stock vs. no muffler vs. yoshimura slip-on and it is a great guide for people debating over this slip-on. But for some reason, the video does not do the slip-on exhaust justice... the sound is much deeper and richer in person. You have to hear it to believe it. Also, once I took off the stock and compared to the yoshi slip-on, the stock is much much heavier than the slip-on. Been riding around in it for two weeks now. Very attention-catching. I caught two guys in cars checking it out at stop lights before they realized I was watching them. April 5, 2015
Shiny and Loud Purchased the Yoshi exhaust because I wanted to be heard. So far I've noticed people look over at me. Easy to install and I tried my best not to scratch the exhaust as I was installing. Overall I'm happy with it. April 1, 2015
Safe and sound Though it's nice having the quit hum of the stock exhaust, being able to be heard keeps you safe on the street. This was an easy install, looks great, sounds great, and gives the bike a high performance feel. March 23, 2015
Not for passengers I got the stainless steel finish, which looked really cool and shiny until I had a passenger on the back. The passenger peg is right on top of the muffler and her foot scratched the heII out of the finish. Not sure what can really be done about that though. Other than that, I'm happy with it. I left the baffle in and it is still plenty loud. I'm sure my neighbors appreciate it too! February 23, 2015
Fantastic Love the way it looks and sounds. Came with clear instructions and is a perfect fit. February 2, 2015
This product has transformed my bike! Incredible product to give the sound and style you want with a Ninja 300! I recommend this to anyone on the streets with a smaller Ninja! January 19, 2015

A shopper asked: I get a different answer from everyone, but does a Slip-on require tuning? Also, I've heard riiding without the baffle will cause damage in the long run. True? Apr 11, 2014
Answer this · Send to friends Good question? Yes (1) No (0)
John R: It's not required, but it would be better if you did get it tuned (pcv has maps for this slip-on). The 300 already runs lean from the factory to meet emissions standards, and even if this slip-on only leans it out a TINY bit, it's just going to make it even worse. If you get a slip-on and an aftermarket filter, I'd definitely think about getting it tuned so you don't lean out the air/fuel mixture too much, and without the tune you're gonna miss out on the 1-2hp gain this mod can give you. Jun 29, 2014
Reply to John Good answer? Yes (0) No (0)
Melissa R: In my research I learned it doesn't require tuning, only if you get a full system. Just remove the original and "slip" the new one on. But before you do add the baffle in, it's plenty loud with it in. You won't regret buying, it sounds and it looks great. Apr 21, 2014
Reply to Melissa Good answer? Yes (0) No (0)
James M: NO, you will not require a tune for a slip-on. The gains are minimal and are mostly due to the weight loss. Apr 11, 2014

A shopper asked: Does it come with everything? Aluminum brackets? Aug 12, 2013
Answer this · Send to friends Good question? Yes (0) No (0)
Kevin N: It came with everything needed to mount in ninja 300. I'm not sure which aluminum bracket you are referring to. The only OEM part you need to use is the nut that holds the stick exhaust onto the bike. Aug 14, 2013
Reply to Kevin Good answer? Yes (0) No (0)
James M: It comes with a bracket that wraps around the exhaust and bolts on to where the factory exhaust did right below the passenger peg. Also comes with a baffle. Aug 12, 2013

A shopper asked: What's the difference between SS and Carbon fiber? Aug 11, 2013
Answer this · Send to friends Good question? Yes (0) No (0)
larry h: The SS(stainless steel is shiny, almost chrome looking). The carbon fiber is the traditional carbon fiber look (nice) and is lighter in weight than the SS. The carbon fiber is a little bit higher in price, perhaps 15 to 20% more. Both styles look nice and sound terrific. You might need to use the provided insert to drop a few decibels if you feel it is to loud. Aug 14, 2013

Richard V: The SS stands for Stainless Steel. The Carbon Fiber is dark gray with the standard carbon fiber design. I chose the carbon fiber and couldn't be happier. The noise damper makes the exhaust quieter than the stock pipe. But if you take out the damper, it has a deep hearty sound which sounds amazing. Aug 12, 2013

Jimmie W: It's just the look i like the carbon fiber because I plan on adding more things that has the carbon fiber look. The one thing I don't like is that one person tip looked bad after some years Aug 13, 2013

Brian D: I believe the only difference is price and appearance. I got the pipe that is stainless steel with carbon fiber tip. Was 100 cheaper and I think it looks great! Hope this helps. Aug 12, 2013

Kyle W: It's mainly gonna be the weight, appearance, carbons cools faster, and possibly a little different sound/performance but nothing noticeable. Aug 12, 2013

Allen C asked: Does the exhaust come with all tools required? Or do I need to provide them myself? Mar 23, 2014
Answer this · Send to friends Good question? Yes (0) No (0)
JOSE EMMANUEL M: Hi, well actually i just installed it last night, it does not come with any tools however you just need basic ones to install it; im sure you have them or somene you know does! It took me just 30 min to install it, its really easy, i am very happy, when i started the bike i could not believe the sound it makes, i was surprised that a ninja 300 could sound like that with the yoshi exhaust! it is a great invesment , do it , you will not regret it i promise that!

Good luck!

A shopper asked: I live in California. If I buy it is it legal to put it on? May 27, 2014
Answer this · Send to friends Good question? Yes (0) No (0)
John R: Wes is incorrect. It's legal in CA to put a slip-on exhaust on your bike as long as it's CARB certified, which this one is. Only full exhaust systems are illegal (but like Wes mentioned, we don't have to get our bikes smogged so you're unlikely to get a fix-it ticket for having one). Jun 29, 2014
Reply to John Good answer? Yes (1) No (0)
John T: Yes it is CA legal. On yoshi's website it lists this exhaust as state compliant as it has a catalytic converter built in. Jun 25, 2014
Reply to John Good answer? Yes (1) No (0)
Brian D: Paper in box says it is not legal for street. It is CARB approved. The ban on exhaust replacement is an noise thing so since some after market pipes are stupid load they decided to ban everything. Oct 17, 2014
Reply to Brian Good answer? Yes (0) No (0)
wes s: No, it is unlawful to modify your exhaust in California. The factory exhaust has the catalytic converter built into the muffler and replacing it will violate California emissions law. That being said you are not required to smog motorcycles in California ;) May 27, 2014

Shawn M: Choosing stainless steel will get you the stainless steel slip on with CF tip. That's the one I purchased and it looks just like the photos up above. May 19, 2014

A shopper asked: How much of a difference in performance does this product provide? Apr 26, 2014
Answer this · Send to friends Good question? Yes (0) No (0)
Shawn M: I don't have a dyno sheet to prove it, but I would say little to no performance gain. The slip-on will provide a better sound, weight reduction (which does help performance), and a better look. If you are after performance, you will need a full exhaust and tune. May 19, 2014
