Yoshimura Fender Eliminator Kit Suzuki DRZ400SM and DRZ400S
Yoshimura has always been synonymous with quality craftsmanship, precision fitment, and impeccable quality. Their Fender Eliminator Kits are no exception, and they are sure to give your bike the sleek race look that every rider craves.
This kits feature a precision laser cut stainless bracket that tucks discreetly under the tail section of the bike, as well as a premium LED taillight. Completing the kit is an anodized aluminum license plate frame which features a silk screened Yoshimura logo.
Note: The licence plate frame is black while the plate bracket has a raw aluminum finish. Please check local laws before purchasing. Some modifications may be prohibited in some states.
Cleans up rear end nicely
Most people like myself dislike the stock rear fender setup. I actually sawed off the reflector portion the first day I got it. In the meantime I ordered this. I installed it the first day I got it, but unfortunately ran into problems. There was a short in the wiring that was causing my main fuse to blow. I contacted Yoshimura and they went above and beyond to make this right. They sent me a new light before I sent the broken one back. It came in 2 days and everything worked fine. I really like the white color of the brake light when the light is not on. The hardware in this kit is good hard steel that will surely take some abuse before failing. Perhaps it's a tad pricey, but other than my fluke with the faulty wiring this product is quality like all of Yoshimura's products.

Looks good, but only 85% there
I would recommend trying another brand for this. Here's why.
1) I really care about weight and this thing probably saves a litte over the stock but not much if any. It consists of 3 stainless steal brackets that don't give any thought to weight savings. It might be extra durable, but that's not my priority.
2) Wire problems. They came with spade connectors so I can reinsert them into my old connector. They were not crimped hardly at all, and I had to diagnose the rear taillight not working because of this. Also the 3 brake light wires have no insulation tube so you are left with these wires dangling under your rear fender where rocks and dirt can hit them. I used electrical tape to wrap the 2 feet of wire.
It looks great when done, but took me extra time sorting out the wire issues.

Great fit and finish
INstalled on a 2014 DR-Z400SM. The fit and finish are excellent, and the installation was mostly simple. The only two things to note:
1) The instructions must be for a previous or alternate version because the wire colors do not match the actual product. So for the running light, brake light, and ground wires, you need to just test until you find the right combination (not hard).
2) since i had to try a few different configurations in the harness (you need to reuse the stock wire harness), I actually pulled one wire out of it's connector, but that was fixed by putting it back in and tightening the connector to the wire a bit with a crimper.
Very small issues though. Once installed, it is very functional, fitment is perfect, and build quality is what you'd expect from Yoshimura.

david k: good looks and can use my orginal turn signals with itJan 23, 2015
J O: Everyone needs a Fender Eliminator, and the Edge light + 12 o'clock board for integrated signals turned out to be way more expensive. A DR-Z is supposed to be cheap. Also, can't beat Yoshimura for build quality.Jun 15, 2014
J O:The 2013-2015 are the same exact bike other than sticker colors. I put this on a 2014 with no issues, so you should be fine. The only thing to watch out for is the wire color diagram for the brake light was outdated, but there's only 3 wires...just try the combos until they work right if they didn't update the instructions. A shopper asked:Will this kit fit on a 2013 model? I just installed a yoshimura exhaust and after about 40 miles, my stock license plate fender had been melted like some had taken a torch to the plastic. Looking for a decent solution.Sep 18, 2013
