Woodcraft Frame Slider Base Kawasaki Ninja 650R

Frame Sliders are one of the smartest investments you can make for your motorcycle. From street accidents to 100 mph high-sides, nothing will help prevent costly damage to your frame or engine more than a set of Woodcraft Frame Sliders. The patented 2-piece slider design makes them the most durable sliders on the market, and their perpendicular mounting bolt allows the slider pucks to be solid rather than hollow, which allows for nearly 50% more material and dramatically improves puck life. This design also makes it super easy to replace a slider puck after a crash without having to remove the engine bolt.

All Woodcraft Frame Sliders mount directly to the engine mounts without any kind of offset bracket. This is absolutely the best way to protect your bike in a crash - giving the slider maximum strength to resist bending and breaking. Offset sliders can break and sometimes do more damage than they prevent (like breaking frames). Woodcraft will only sell what they race and believe these to be the best frame sliders available.

Woodcraft's experienced racer and R&D squad made it clear that sliders must only stick out far enough to protect the bike but not so long they get ripped off as the bike slides down the road. The end result is all Woodcraft sliders are the ideal length providing you the protection without too much projection.

  • CNC machined frame slider base

Pain to install, but totally worth it !
The reason why i chose these, is because i used to have a Yoshimura frame sliders. for those who don't know, Yoshimora offers an offset engine/frame sliders, that requires no cutting into the fairings, which will make the installation such a piece of cake. but here is why i went from Youshi to Woodcraft:
1) The Yoshimora frame sliders' bases don't set on the engine bolts directly, but rather on a plate on each side that Yoshi provides. Being away from the engine mounts means that the sliders are only held up by a screw, a screw that is not connected to any of the engine 's mounts or the frame, which in case of low siding, it snaps from not having the enough support to hold against force of falling and sliding, and actually happened to me.
2) Another reason why i suggest Woodcraft over Yoshimora, is that the puck provided with youshi sticks out too far, that in case of crash, it can easily catch on something on the road and cause the bike to flip over and cause even more damage than you were trying to prevent.
3) the price difference between the two product speak for itslef.
Now, as mentioned in the description, Woodcraft offeres pucks with only required length to protect your bike from damage might occur if you low side. and it is mounted directly on the engine bolts.
Installation:
that was the hardest part i gotta say, there are lots of videos on youtube that can help you take off the fairings. you will need to cut a hole into the fairings. I used a hole saw 2 1/2 inchs and a drill, it says to use a 2" hole saw in the instructions but i wanted to have a little room to move around while i am putting the fairing back on. start off first with a guide hole before cutting a full circle hole, make sure that the guide hole align with the base where the puck will set on.
take your time and don't rush yourself so you don't end up damaging your fairings.
Good luck everyone.

Product is great but hard to install..
Bought this product for my 2014 Ninja 650. Came in the mail within 2 days, overall a great product. high quality finishes.

Installation:
Installing was a pain in the butt, you have to take the entire fairing off and then you have to drill a hole in your bike... I almost cried. haha.

I was worried that it would look out of place after it was installed, but this wasnt the case. The sliders made the bike look alot better. Can't really explain but you will see what I mean. *REMINDER THE PUCKS ARE SOLD SEPARATELY!*.

I havent dropped my bike yet, but im sure if i did these sliders would hold up just fine. Thanks woodcraft!

These are really nice! Big mounting tip: Cut your fairing just to the smaller inner collar diameter and use spacers to extend the center mount. Then slide the pretty slider over, covering the cut hole in your pretty plastics.

Great price. I don't mind cutting in as long as it saves my ride in the long run. I would rather have the base right on the frame rather than having it offset.
