It's functional Works fine and keeps the clips out of the way. I put some soft material under the clips to keep them from scratching. I did that because I think over time, that they will scratch the finish. October 12, 2015
Useful if you plan to remove the tank bag from time to time I bought this thinking that it was anothe type of mount for the bag leaving the x strap when the bag is removed however you just have to buckle it when you remove the bag. Silly me. Pretty much it is as described.. I probably won't be using it much as I'll be leaving my tank bag mounted most of the time. It is a huge help though if you plan to ride without the bag bc you won't have the buckles flapping or you won't have to remove the mounting straps. Only wish there was something protecting the buckles from the paint. August 29, 2015
Useful product I don't always need to have my tan kbag, so this i s a good product to have. June 22, 2015
Serves a fairly simple role. The purpose of this strap is to keep the buckles/straps from your Wolfman tank bag from flapping about when the bag is off the tank. It accomplishes this perfectly well, and it also gives you a handy place to put gloves when you're off the bike and you trust no one will steal them. April 13, 2015
A must-have for your tank bag An excellent item which you really need. I have the Rainier tank bag and the X strap does a wonderful job of keeping the straps from flopping around and prevents damage to the buckles or your paint while you ride without the tank bag installed. And it keeps the front straps from falling down in front of your tank where you can't reach them. For just a few bucks the X strap is a must-have. June 17, 2014
Good but not great. This strap is designed to be installed in place of your tank bag when you don't need or want the bag mounted. For that it works great, it keeps the straps tight so they are flapping about and leaves space to get to the fuel cap on most bikes from the looks of it. The buckles are hard plastic and I would not want to use this for any length of time as it will wear and scuff the paint. I would be willing to pay more for covered buckles, or some other system of protecting the paint surface. I gave it a recommend, but caveat that it is not perfect and could use some other features. Really? 8 bucks? Personally I think this thing should be included with the bag. I pay a heck of a lot of money for the bag it should come with all the accessories... That being said, this thing is good quality and since it stretches its holds to the tank nicely my only complaint is the lack of a way to hold the excess material down while at speed it tends to flap around. Should have been included I love my Wolfman tank bag. I have no complaints about how this strap for keeping the mounting straps down works. My complaint is that I think this should be included with the tank bag upon purchase. That being said, it is relatively cheap and works well. October 5, 2013

John P: This is a one piece x-strap (its sewn together in the middle to make it an X) to hold up the support clips when you are NOT using your Wolfman bag on your tank.

It basically keeps the support straps up and out of the way and connected so they don't dangle around while you are riding WITHOUT your bag on your tank.

It is ONE PIECE like the description says, its and X strap. Its a must have, if you vary from using your tank bag or not. If you always ride/use your tank bag, (without removing it much) then no need for this strap.

Joshua K: This is a pair of straps. The straps are (to the best of my memory) stitched together at the X so technically it's one strap with four ends. It also includes four separate loop-style female clips for attaching the strap to the bike. Apr 15, 2014

William W: It is a single strap (not a pair). It is meant to replace the tank bag when you want to ride without the tank bag, but not have to remove the connecting straps from your bike. Apr 15, 2014

James E: It's a single strap—or, actually, two straps sewn together. Either way, you don't have to keep track of two different straps in your tankbag. Apr 15, 2014
