Easy install
Just grab a allen wrench and throw them on. For sure go with the 10mm. Good size and functionality. Though I have never gone down to know for sure, I am confident they will do the job should I go down.

WHAT ELSE CAN YOU ASK FOR???
These swingarm slider spools ROCK. They aren't expensive, SO EASY to install, and awesome for using them to lift my rear wheel up using my Pitbull stand ( which ROCKS as well ). I can't say how well they will hold up in case of a crash, and hopefully I will never have to review that haha. It literally took me about 5 minutes to install them, maybe less lol. Overall, they do what they are intended for. I definitely recommend them!

Value and good insurance
These fit perfectly in a 2012 Suzuki DL650 V-Strom. It's really serving two purposes in one, spools for bike service, and sliders for protection. On the specific bike, they mount several inches from the ends of the swing-arm. Which, when used for a lift, I imagine is a good thing (chain service, tire changes, etc.) but for protection, perhaps lower on the arm would protect better. But, that's a bike issue, nothing to do with the product. I put these on _after_ a spill that did some light damage to the rear axle bolt and I didn't want to risk serous damage. I obliged this install with a subsequent spill on really loose, deep gravel, the sliders did a fine job - although gravel is impossible to 'slide' on - rather, anything protruding grips the gravel and drags along. The size of the sliders was generous enough to help keep the chain, sprocket, and Scottoiler feed tube higher up off the gravel. Very little damage was noted on the slider (it was a low speed tip fortunately). The slider plastic seemed a little soft compared to others, but I think that would be a good thing since you want to wear off the slider and not the bike parts. The spools are solid as well as the hardware. I'd liked to have had stainless steel M8 bolts and a harder anodized finish, but for the price, everyone should have some of these. Recommended for all bikes.

Held up well in slide
20-25 mph lowside and they completely saved everything by the swingarm... Not a scratch anywhere by the rear of the bike and even the slider barely shaved down. Look wise, they are basic and very functional with my rear stand. I definitely recommend them.

Review comments, particularly from the guy who actually crashed and described how they saved much of his bike.

Tried a sideways landing on my bike - then decided I needed protection for the axle nuts and chain oiler. Good call.

Two questions for 2013 Kawasaki 636 fitment: 1. Does it require the 8mm size? 2. I've read that the stock exhaust can break the spool off under full suspension compression. Is this true?
Francis L on Jul 9, 2014
BEST ANSWER: I have an aftermarket exhaust. I can't answer that sorry. You'd have to weigh a lot, be doing a massive turn at a high rate of speed or be launching your bike to be under full compression anyway. I'd buy them and take the chance it won't happen bro. They're not expensive and can save you tons of money if you go down. Well worth the money if you ask me.
