Easy Install - Big Sound
I am as mechanically inexperienced as you get. This was the first time I took a wrench to anything with wheels. Instructions were very easy to follow and I was guided smoothly through uninstalling the original pipes to fastening on these beauties.

All parts were present and accounted for and in great condition. The chrome really shines and they give my bike that bad boy look it's been needing for a long while.

As far as the sound, dear lordy almighty! What once was a glorified lawn mower is now a beast screaming from the dark depths of the underworld. It's deep, It's throaty, and it's loud without being obnoxious.

These babies have given me a noticeable HP boost. I get about 8mph more per gear. Definitely more pick up than before.

Perfect! Perfect! Perfect!

Best looking blacked out pipes for VN900
As of the writing of this review, these are the best looking pipes that you can stick on a blacked out VN900 (specifically the custom). Removal of the stock system is more of a pain than the installation of the new pipes. The heat shields will scuff, so make sure you place them on something soft while you're working on building the pipes for placement.

Do yourself a favor and pick up some exhaust gaskets, its not worth risking an issue over less than ten dollars. Everything lined up well and there were no QA/QC issues with the exhaust set.

The sound is incredibly loud, and while I get some people like that but a lot of my riding is outside of town and some freeway and it was just too much. At idle I was getting readings over 100db and my wife's only comment after a 25 minute stretch was "wow, thats just loud".

In my opinion, it was too loud to take a comfortable journey. If that is possibly your take, definitely pick up a set of baffles and get them installed before you put the pipes on. I had less than 100 miles on the pipes before doing the baffles and they were stuck in pretty good already.

The sound is still around 90db at idle and still hits over 100db when you open it up. Its loud enough, but its no longer deafening. Its got a great sound, its slightly different than what Kawasaki or Cobra do... they use a small port that connects both exhausts together. I picked this over the Cobra strictly due to looks and the fact that I've had V&H pipes on everything else I've owned. You wont be disappointed in this purchase.

Loud pipes that impriove performace
I am new to motorcycles, and the pipes were very easy to put on. Took about an hour and a half without rushing. Huge difference in sound, slight difference in acceleration, and I added at least 5 mph to my top speed. Also they are far less bulky than the stock Kawasaki pipes, and they look great.

On the down side, the top pipe was a bit scuffed when i got it.

Overall, very happy.

Badass
I bought my 2010 Vulcan brand new only a month ago, March 2016, that's right! I had these pipes installed by the dealership before I would even take the bike home. It went from sounding like a wimpy moped, to a badass cruiser! Even my Harley buddies love the way it sounds and looks. Money well spent !!!

Good sound and easy to install
I would have given 5 stars but I had to get a quiet end-piece (hardcorebaffles) for these pipes. The installed baffle was just too loud. That said I like the sound that comes from my VN900 now. I had the older slash cuts.. longer.. but sound was never this good. I laid it down and had to replace... glad I got these pipes.

I own a 2014 Kawasaki Vulcan Custom, I've heard these before, and they keep up the badass blacked out look of the bike.

Exact replacements after crash. I love the sound and look much better than the shorter ones they now make for my VN900.

I saw it says these will work on 206-2012 year models. Will this fit on my 2013 Vulcan 900 custom?
A shopper on Apr 28, 2014
BEST ANSWER: I just put them on my 2013 Vulcan 900 customer a few weeks ago. I called V&H first to double check and they gave me the green light. Good to go, they sound awesome.
Do I need to bus a power commander before installing this exhaust? Can you recommend a specific brand for a 2014 Kawasaki Vulcan 2014 900C custom?
A shopper on Jul 12, 2015
BEST ANSWER: I asked and searched for the answer to this very question before buying and never found a definitive answer. Short answer, no you don't.
Long answer, you should because the aftermarket exhaust messes with the fuel/air mixture. I installed the exhaust without a power commander. The exhaust will pop slightly on the deceleration. I did install a power commander to help reduce the popping but mainly to even out the fuel mixture. I (the dealership did it during a service without any issue since there are no emission testing here) also marbled the intake (the power commander and marbling were recommended by the dealership) which greatly reduces the popping. I did not put an aftermarket intake on (yet).
I bought the quiet baffles but never installed them. They are loud, but only obnoxiously loud if you're rude about it. Highway speeds offer a nice rumble purr.
Hope it helps.
I have a 2014 Vulcan 900 LT classic if I buy this setup do I need the power programmer?
Tyler C on Jul 30, 2016
BEST ANSWER: You may be able to get away without it, but trust me, it's worth it to install the programmer. I changed the pipes and air cleaner, and installed the programmer, and the bike runs great. They're all things you can do yourself.
Can anyone comment on the sound of these things with and without the quiet baffles? I've seen a lot of videos, but you can never really get a good sense for how loud they are through a video. Are they annoyingly loud? I love the look and throaty sound, but I don't want to be obnoxious to my neighbors or others that I ride with.
W C on Feb 23, 2015
BEST ANSWER: Out of the box, you will notice a huge difference. Initially, I loved the sound - which could easily attract the hairy eyeball look from your neighbors if you made a point of jumping on it while leaving your driveway. I always took it easy getting out of the neighborhood, but I found the sound a bit much when moving down the highway at speed. I road for a few months that way and decided to tone things down some and I installed a set of quieter baffles. The sound was still great, but less obnoxious. I'd buy the pipes and baffles again...
After installing the Vance and Hines Twin Slash Staggered Exhaust did anyone have any trouble with the fuel management?
A shopper on Aug 26, 2014
BEST ANSWER: I installed them 3 months ago on a
2012 Vulcan 900 I love the pipes beware they
Are loud As for fuel mangment I did not do anything and you will get a few pops now and then but not a big deal Remember the newer v twins are electronic fuel injection anyway
Will this fit on a 2016 vulcan 900 custom?
Edgar H on Aug 27, 2016
BEST ANSWER: Yes, they will. Installation is extremely easy, too.
What kind of baffles work well with this exhaust?
A shopper on Mar 19, 2016
BEST ANSWER: I used the V&H quiet baffles on mine. I found that the pipes were a little too loud without them. Initially, they were hard to install, but I removed some of the packing around the baffle. This made it much easier to push into the pipe. Sounds great.
I have an 07 Vulcan 900 classic, do these look longer on the classic and shorter on the custom?
A shopper on Dec 30, 2014
BEST ANSWER: They should look the same on both bikes. Custom and classic have the same frame I believe.I love mine on the custom. Very nice throaty rumble to them. Easy to install to. They look better than the long stock exhaust Hope this helps. Happy New Year
I understood these would work on the boulevard c50 as well...?

Thanks

Eddie
