Sounds amazing
I bought this a week after buying my motorcycle and reading reviews and watching videos. I wasnt happy with the stock exhaust and felt like it sounded more like a moped than a motorcycle. I was pleasantly surprised after installing this slip on. The sound is amazing and installation was pretty easy. I recommend loosening the heat guards or else it will seem like it does not match up right. Great product and fast shipping impressed all the way around.

Most economical way to man up the sound of your bike!
Super fast shipping! Installation was a very tight fit, but it fits. Took about 20 minutes to install even though it's only two bolts and a clamp. Very big sound with the new pipe! Sounds like a whole new exhaust system. It's almost too loud. I wear hearing protection for wind. One drawback is that when you decelerate after install, you will hear a lot of backfiring. The professionals at Vance & Hines say you don't NEED to remap the bike since the slip on is after the oxygen sensor. But, I may just remap it anyway because it can be annoying. Would definitely recommend this product just for the safety fact. You will now be heard!

Has a lot more punch, exhaust sounds nice
Great exhaust slip on! The only downside to it is is does not fit the 2014 vstar 950. I had to shave down the heat shield and re drill the holes to make it fit. Overall that took an extra half hour so not to bad, I would still recommend getting this one.

Nice look, but very loud
I knew V&H products from various friends with Harleys. This slip on has a nice deep throaty sound, but personally I think it's a bit too loud, especially considering it does not come with a removable baffle. The sound quality is very good, it's the volume that concerns me.

Looks and sounds nice but....
The two main female mounting areas on this pipe are misaligned and you cannot thread one in without cross threading it. Vance and Hines should have corrected this or recalled this item. I would not recommend using this particular exhaust. I would return it but it's already mounted. Good luck if you decide to get one. I would look at the other options first.

Vance & Hines reputation for quality, as well as tone and volume of the exhaust.
RevZilla's pricing & free shipping was a major factor.

Do i need to buy the fuel management pack I have a 2011 VStar 950?

Is there a slip in quiet baffle for this setup? My wife says it's loud and we don't want to upset our neighbors when I leave in the early morning for work. V950 Yamaha
A shopper on Apr 11, 2015
BEST ANSWER: I have not looked for a baffle for a quieter norse. Yes in is loud but that was why we bought
when I look on Internet I think that there is one.
Goed luck finding
When you tap on side of your slip on does it have a little vibration or radle?
A shopper on Sep 2, 2014
BEST ANSWER: My slip on is mounted on mg bike and no it doesn't make a noise when I tap it. Make sure the chromed exhaust shield is not hitting it that can cause a noise when tapping it
I read a review about this not fitting a 2014 model... anyone else have any issues getting it onto the 2014 v-star? Do not want to have to mod to get it to fit. Thanks
A C on Mar 22, 2016
BEST ANSWER: I have the 2014 and it would not fit on out of the box. The fix to make it work was simple though. I used a dremal tool and cut off the small spacer on the back bolt hole and it mounted no problem. Total time for fix about 15 minutes.
