Best use of your hard earned dollars Put on my 2012 Nightster after about a year, year and a half of riding. Already had changed out A/C Bike is now a completely different animal. Had a complete set on StraightShots on my '97 Sportster. Quality is great, took much longer to get the old mufflers off then put the new ones on. Would buy again in a heartbeat. Oh yeah they sound incredible October 29, 2015
Great New Sound but be ready its loud My 07 1200C Sportster had stock pipes, I wanted to get the sound of a real Harley. After installing, it now has a much better sound but if you live in a quiet neighborhood and like to get out early in the morning you will be heard loud and clear. I put in the optional baffles and it knocked the level down a little without affecting the update sound. Don't get rid of your old pipes in case the audio level starts getting to you after a 4 hour ride. July 10, 2015
2 Way street. All the reviews I read or watched online never supported the fact that this was obnoxiously loud. Now don't get me wrong... It's a great exhaust, sounds great, and looks good on the computer (of the bike) without having to de-baffel the ride. In closing, Great look with great finish just slightly annoying. June 12, 2015
east to install, looks great, and has THE sound exactly what i was hoping for. looks great, high quality chrome from V&H. the slip-ons are super easy to install - what a great deal for the money - and i like the bend of the stock headers better than the full system from V&H - so the slip-ons are easier to install, cheaper and look better to me. they have THE sound you want with a V-Twin - deep, low rumble that just gets better as the rpms climb. very happy. look no further, these slip-ons are badass! My bike sounds so good now! Easy to install. Ran into no problems. I cant recomend theses pipes enough. If i could give them 100 star review, i would. April 17, 2015
Loud, stylish, and easy on your wallet. I couldn't write a good enough review for these pipes if I tried. These pipes are easy on your wallet, but by no means are they cheap. I noticed an increase in throttle response and the sound is killer. This exhaust maintains every bit of Vance and Hines integrity. They are loud and sharp looking, and easy to install with a basic set of tools and about 45 minutes. As a note, be sure to take caustion when removing your stock mufflers that way you can reuse the gaskets for the crossover pipes. A little WD-40 goes a long way. Also, make sure to fully clean your chrome pipes to free them of any fingerprints or residue before starting your bike (as excited as you may be). This will keep them from staining. August 20, 2013
Love these pipes. These pipes were very easy to install and now my bike sounds like a real Harley.. Thanks March 11, 2013

Megan D: Sorry if this is a dumbass question, but will I need the gaskets even for installation of the slip on exhaust? From what I've seen it looks like the gasket goes up into the header....I didn't think the slip on installation dealt with anything other than removing just the stock exhaust slip on portion of the exhaust system...... Donald C: Hi Megan
I would buy them if you have the time. They don't always come out easily and you can break them if they really get stuck in there. I was in a hurry to get the pipes on so I did ended up reusing the original ones and they are fine. Hope this helps.

Kevin B: Yes. That would be a wise choice. They don't cost much. You can reuse your existing but they will be mashed. Better to install new ones. Sep 24, 2015

Charles O: Yes. Definitely order the gaskets. Dont mess with the old ones. You dont want nice sounding pipes with a exaust leak Sep 24, 2015

A shopper asked: slip on exhaust what does that mean? do i need stock pipes to put these on? i have drag pipes on my sportster now so i was curious Jan 31, 2014
Answer this · Send to friends Good question? Yes (0) No (0)
Wayne S: Yes you will need either stock headers or an aftermarket header that has a seperate slip on style muffler.
These are not a full exhaust system. These take the place of stock or other mufflers attached by clamps to the header.

Kurt C: I put mine on a Heritage, And yes they would have to go on to the stock pipes. There are grooves inside the slip ons that match up with the grooves on the pipe...hope this helps Feb 18, 2014

Jason B: Following the instructions you "slip off" the original mufflers and these just slide on about 3" of the pipe. You even use the original clamps and mounts. Sound is awesome Mar 16, 2014

A S asked: What's the deal with the Legal notices I see on some of these exhausts. Is that there just because of emissions? And does it really matter if you're only putting slip-ons on your bike? Aug 24, 2015
