WOW!! I was skeptical at first to buy these but I'm sure glad I did and so is the old lady next door...well worth the money, the bike sounds way better now, these should be the main baffle for these pipes, nice meaty sound to them.Helped with the popping sound from these pipes, still pops but way less.. Put these on with the pipes on,I put more Scotch tape at the front of the baffle so the tape was on the fiberglass and the metal so the fiberglass would not slide, then twist it back and forth slowly while pushing it in.. Another great product from revzilla and fast shipment, thank you revzilla April 15, 2015
Much better I have the short shots on my 2013 Honda phantom. The stock baffles were too loud and made me feel embarrassed when starting the bike up in my neighborhood. I'm too old to play outlaw biker, if you catch my drift. The quiet baffles make the sound of the pipes deeper and sound more refined. You do not need to remove the pipes to install, but it would probably be easier. I just removed the heat shields with the pipes on the bike. I do recommend these baffles and I think anyone who doesn't want to sound like an obnoxious knob while riding their bike will appreciate them. Here is a hint: when installing them use a small Allen wrench to help you line up the screw holes. Took me 1 hour and 20 min to do both pipes but that is because I left the pipes on the bike. I am nowhere near mechanically inclined, and I could do it, so I'm sure you guys who are good with a wrench can do it in less time. April 8, 2015
Quieter Just installed these on my short shots, they did muffle and quiet down a bit my exhaust pipes. I guess I'll have to live with the high decibels. Hopefully I won't get pinched by the cops since I live in the socialist state of California. March 8, 2015
product was a direct fit, as described, shipped quickly pipes were beautiful but way to loud, these baffles fit perfectly and quieted it down to an acceptable level. February 16, 2015
Worth the change... PERFORMANCE: I first looked into getting a pair of quiet baffles after reading an article about back pressure and some power gains in the low-mid rev range. There is not much to do in the case of short shots, but gladly the engineering of the quiet baffles from V&H can add a little bit of that back pressure with the cap on one end of the baffles. It changes the flow dynamics of the exhaust and also quiet it down a tone. INSTALL: It would be a lot easier to install them with the pipes off the bike. I however, installed them with the pipes on. Started by removing the shields and the allen screw locking the standard baffles in place. The hardest part for me was trying to fit the quiet baffles in with all the glass fiber stuff. Even after adding another layer of scotch tape it did not help. So I removed the tape I added and removed the excess of glass fiber from both ends, not too much tho. Inserted them by twisting it around until I could not move them anymore and I still had a good portion standing out of the pipes so I used a small screw driver to help me push the fibers into the gap between the pipe and the baffle. After that the hardest part was aligning the holes for the locking screw. After some good 30 minutes I was able to put them both in place and lock it down. Installed the heat shields back on and it was ready to roll. SOUND: Short shots will be short shots, they are still loud. However, the tone down is evident, there is a deeper sound to it and not too much of the standard snap sound. I love the way it sounds in idle. Like another reviewer said, I can creep out of my neighborhood without waking up their babies and chihuahuas. It also doesn't irritate my wife as much either, although she said she preferred when it was loud so people would know I was there when riding down the roads. February 12, 2015
Exactly what I needed Bought the short shots for my bike and found that it was very loud. So loud that when riding down a busy road everyone was looking at me. I got some dirty looks too. I guess I woke the baby up or they coundn't hear the radio. Ha! Anyway after buying the 2-3db quiet baffles the bike now has a much better sound. If I don't hit the gas too hard I can quietly creap out of my development without disturbing anyone. Once I do get on the gas it feels and sounds like a true Harley. Worth the money! January 12, 2015

C P: My V&H Short Shots were Awesomely loud on my Harley Sportster 1200. A bit too loud, in fact. :) I put in these quiet baffles and I thought they quieted the sound a bit too much. I pulled them back out and removed one layer of the fiberglass wrap and now they are just right. Excellent sound. Oct 11, 2013

Jesse G: No you have to set the quantity to two. I got them for my pipes and they do tone the pipes down a bit but they are still loud. I'm sure you will like them. Gives the bike a really nice tune with out all the loud mess. May 26, 2014

A shopper asked: I bought a Kawasaki Mean Streak with Vance and Hines pipes with no baffles and I want to add quite baffles to it but I don't know what model of V and H I have? The inside diameter of my pipes is 2 inches, will these baffles work for me?? Feb 27, 2014
Answer this · Send to friends Good question? Yes (0) No (0)
chuck s h: it is hard to answer the baffle question. you need to read the specs on the baffle and it should say fits 13/4 inch or 2 inch pipes, most vance and Hines i have looked at are 13/4 inch inside diameter. are you shure you are measuring the inside of the pipe and not including the heat shield? (and that is not a stupid question)

Eddie B: I have put quiet baffles on my 2013 Harley Davidson Iron 883. The Vance and Hines shortstacks are not as loud and have a deeper note which has alleviated the problem of sore ears. But still loud enough for ignoramous car drivers to hear me. Feb 27, 2014

A shopper asked: Will this fit my Vance and Hine Short Shot made for my 2009 Honda Shadow Spirit 750? Jun 20, 2014
Answer this · Send to friends Good question? Yes (0) No (0)
Thomas F: Yes it will, the manufactures part number is the same as the quiet baffles called out on the Vance and Hines site for a 2013 Honda Shadow Phantom 750. Since the shadows are all basically the same, it should fit your short shots as well.

A shopper asked: Is the O.D. of these baffles (@the wide/sealing band) 2 inches ? Apr 27, 2014
Answer this · Send to friends Good question? Yes (0) No (0)
Nick R: I called Vance and Hines about the big shot and short shot quiet baffles. The gentleman told me that the big shot baffles are 2" OD x 10.5", and the short shot baffles are 1 7/8" OD x 10". Although, when looking at a picture of the two side by side, the short shot looks a bit shorter than 10". I'm going to order the short shot quiet baffles and build an exhaust around them, using my stock 99 Honda shadow vt750cd exhaust to modify. I hopes this helps. I would still double check with Vance and Hines. Jul 21, 2014
