Your Neighbors Will Love Them! All in all, this product gets 3-Stars from me... Don't be mistaken on quality however; they're top notch. Just not the sound/performance I was looking for.... Install was truly a pain in the neck, like most everyone has said. I'd recommend taping a bit of the fiberglass wrap yourself; it helps tremendously... Also, if you can, put these in your exhaust tubes BEFORE you install them on your bike. (Only downside there is you'll never get to hear how good they sound prior to muffling the sound. These are the equivilanfpt of giving your bike a cold) At first I liked these baffles; slightly quieter, and better sound at acceleration (took some of the high pitch out of it). After a while though, and riding with some friends, I noticed something lacking. The power was also affected... After configuring my engine tuner for "quiet baffles", I got a LOT of pop on deceleration. It's running rich for sure, and I haven't been able to sort it out. My bike ran a lot cleaner before I put these on... Don't take the 3-Stars too hard... This is a good product. It's just not for me. I'm probably going to switch back soon. June 8, 2015
V&H Qiet Baffles Do The Job. Vance & Hinze Quiet Baffles are not actually quiet, but they reduced the noise out of our V&H Long Shots by about a half, removed most of the backfire noise on throttle off, but left a great throaty (ear plug free) enjoyable riding sound. And they were easy to fit, as long as you know how to use an Allen Key, took me about an hour to remove the old straight through baffles and fit both the new ones. May 4, 2015
Big improvement for the neighborhood. These were easy to install in my 2007 VTX1300. Removing the heat shields took some time, but the actually install of the baffles took about 10 minutes. The old baffles, surprisingly, slid right out. I bent a old coat hangar in half, forming a loop, which I was able to hook over the retaining nut welded into the old baffle. I did apply additional tape to the fiberglass cloth, thanks to all who offered that tip, and rotated the new baffle as I slid it in. This kept the fiberglass from bunching up. Be careful lining up the new baffle with the exterior pipe. I did manage to cross thread one of the screws, but happened to have a replacement on hand. April 7, 2015
Better and easier than I hoped Very simple to install. Tightening the wrap before install helps. At the very end of the part install, the bunching of the wrap was gently coaxed into the pipe using a popsicle stick. Though the baffle only reduced the sound by one full decibel, it did take the treble metallic highs, and convert them to a hearty rumble. Now my neighbors don't even know when I leave in the morning. Not drastically quieter. Keeps great sound Maintains great sound. 30 minute removal of the stock baffles (due to heatshields), but 10 minutes getting them in. No real effort or difficulties on the install October 27, 2014
Sweet sounding '09 Classic Did exactly what i wanted them to do. Took that hard edge off the sound of the pipes. A little longer to install than 15 minutes due to having to remove heat shields, but slid right in with a a shot off WD40 in each pipe and a slight twisting motion. Highly recommend and thanks to Revzilla for the great service. September 29, 2014
Great Upgrade to the Stock Baffles Quiets the pipes down enough to keep from setting off car alarms, but still loud enough to sound really good. Results in a deeper tone and helps eliminate some of the backfiring/popping inherent with these type of pipes. A pain to install once the pipes are on so buy them when you buy the pipes and swap them out before you have the pipes mounted. September 15, 2014
Worth every cent Baffles It took only 2 minutes to install on my Harley Deluxe V&H long shot pipes. Wrapped the fibreglass sheet around the baffle and set into place with a few small strips of sticky tape. Now my pipes have a rich deep sound once I removed the stock baffles for these. Took next to no time to get them here to me in Australia. I would deal with this company for any future needs. If you seriously want a great sounding bike, these are the baffles for you. Stephen K: I've read that the baffles only quieten your V&H pipes a little but give them a deeper richer tone..and that's what I'm after. [edit] They arrived and they're on and the Deluxe never sounded better..thanks mate! Jun 30, 2014
JOHN D: i received a traffic ticket today on li, ny for 'altered exhaust'. standard vance and hines straightshots with standard louvered baffles. cop said they're altered. they are not altered. they're sold that way. maybe, with the quiet baffles, the noise level will drop good enough so as to not get another ticket. it may not pay to plead 'not guilty' due to the funds it will cost to do so as opposed to the fine with all the other unjust imposed fees there will be. Dean W: Both baffles in my exhaust pipes needed replacement. The material that is used to help baffle the sound was deteriorated. It was quite loud, as well. Decided to purchase the quiet baffles because of these reasons. Sep 29, 2013
A shopper asked: Will these fit my 2009 Vance & Hines Short Shots? And I can't figure out if 1 Qty includes two baffles like on the picture or only one.

Thanks

David K: Probably not. The V&H website says these fit "Big Shots Staggered & Big Shots Longs with Power Chamber, and Python Staggered Duals" and lists a different baffle (#21649) for "SideShots and Staggered ShortShots".
Price is each, so you need to order 2.

A shopper asked: Will these fit V&H straight shot slip ons? Nov 18, 2013
Answer this · Send to friends Good question? Yes (0) No (0)
David K: Probably -- the fitment says Big Shots, Straightshots & Softtail Duals.
My stock Big Shot baffles are 2" OD x 13" long; the QBs are the same diameter but (If I remember correctly) slightly shorter. Why don't you call V&H cust service & ask them (or make sure Revzilla will take them back if they don't fit)?
The QBs are a little mellower (not as harsh) but not much quieter than stock.

Terry B: yes, they are an exact fit. my bike was too loud even with the supplied baffles in, so i ordered the quiet baffles. they were too quiet, so I drilled out all the holes a few sizes bigger for a compromize. am happy with the sound and power. were a bit restrictive before drilling them out. A shopper asked: Will this Baffle work with 4" tail pipes? May 11, 2015
Answer this · Send to friends Good question? Yes (0) No (0)
DAVID H: Doubtful. I use this baffle on a set of 2 1/2" V&H Big Shots and it works great. There would be nothing to secure the baffle and keep it from rattling on 4" pipes. May 12, 2015

Algis G: These just bolt into the stock location. They shouldn't interfere. No drilling or modifications required. May 11, 2015

A shopper asked: Hi,
I have a set of short shots for my 2009 Nightster. Here in Australia they are too loud and penalties apply if the coppers pull you over. I want to know if you can advise a baffle system that I can use with them?

Any advice will be appreciated

Thanks

John D: Robey,

i have the long shots on my 2013 Road King. The standard baffle was a little to loud for me. The quiet baffles are perfect .Nice sound at idle and cruising speed. If you get on it, it still has a nice roar.

A shopper asked: Does this baffle fit the stock 2013 Slim pipes without modification? Mar 8, 2014
Answer this · Send to friends Good question? Yes (0) No (0)
David K: Don't know for sure. I have Big Shots; just looking at online photos the Slims APPEAR to be the same diameter in the muffler area. V&H and Revzilla should publish actual baffle dimensions...
Stock Big Shot baffles are 2" OD x ~13" long; IIRC the QBs are the same OD (obviously) but a couple of inches shorter.
If your Slim baffles are 2" OD the QBs should work. Check Revzilla's return policy in case.
BTW the QBs are not much quieter than stock baffles. They sound better (deeper, mellower) but still quite loud.

Charlie V: Not sure. I know they fit the standard straight shots and short shots. The baffles should have their outer diameter listed under specifications. I'd compare that with the specs on the slim pipes you're asking about. If it's not listed, I'd contact Revzilla customer service and ask. Apr 5, 2014

A shopper asked: I HAVE A 2006 FLHTCUI WITH BIG SHOT TRUE DUALS. I BOUGHT THE PIPES NEW AND HAD THEM INSTALLED ALONG WITH A FUEL PACK, BREATHER ETC. THE STATE I LIVE IN HAS LOWERED THE ALLOWABLE DB LEVEL AND IT'S A $300 TICKET. MY BIKE IS LOUD AND HAS BEEN SINCE NEW. I WAS THINKING ABOUT QUIET BAFFLES WHEN I REALIZED MY BIKE HAD NO BAFFLES. DID MY PIPES ORIGINALLY COME WITH BAFFLES? ARE THERE MOUNTING HOLES ALREADY THERE FOR THE QUIET BAFFLES? IF NO MOUNTING HOLES EXIST HOW FAR IN DO I PUT THE BAFFLES? Mar 15, 2014

James D: My pipes came with stock baffles that I removed and installed the Vance and Hines quiet baffles that fit perfect Mar 20, 2014

A shopper asked: What are the exact measurements of this baffle? I need to know diameter and length. Not sure why that isn't already in the "fitment details." And, do you have replacement screws available? Thanks! Jan 2, 2014
Answer this · Send to friends Good question? Yes (0) No (0)
Randy M: I don't have an answer to your specific question but do know they posed a snug fit when installed in my straight shots. There are 2 things they should suggest for easier installation, however.
First, clean inside pipes with a stiff bottle brush to remove any residue in pipes. Secondly, the fiberglass insulation is too loosely bound to the baffle itself. I used very, very thin gauge crafting wire to wind around insulation and specifically at the end that enters pipe initially.
Not sure on second question. (I think I remember that new screws that fit were 10mm?)
Hope this helps.
