Vance & Hines Monster Rounds Slip-On Mufflers For Harley Touring
Like the Monster Ovals, the Monster Rounds produce that deep and mellow rumble that’s winning the hearts and minds of touring riders who put in the long distance miles. Perfect for enjoying your stereo on the highway, the Monster Rounds features blue-proof technology and a CNC-machined billet end caps for an impeccable appearance.
I ordered these to top off the dress duals I installed previously to enhance the sound quality over OEM. The finish is better than OEM, sound is louder and lower rumble (read better) without being too obnoxious. Installation took maybe 10 minutes. It does seem or feels to have a bit more power as the head pipes on OEW mufflers seemed to drop off.
Revzilla as always, delivered as promised in a very timely manner.

Great sounding mufflers
These mufflers have that low, throaty note that I like and have been searching for. Loud enough without being obnoxious. They look great and were a breeze to install on my '14 Street Glide Special. The fluted end caps are a nice touch too. Very happy with them.

Best Pipes Out There!
I love em. I have them on a 2014 Harley Davidson Street Glide Special Rushmore. No special computer config needed. These pipes are just loud enough to let everyone know that you are on a Harley, but not too loud to upset your neighbors or get stop for noise polution. I can hear my sound system just fine even at highway speeds. Thanks REVZ

leonard j: the added power and sound is fantastic, look great on my 2015 road glideMar 21, 2015
Steven D: I've checked out way too many exhaust set-ups. It's a matter of personal preference after hearing the monster rounds, really like the deep sound. Can't wait to install them on my ride. Other products (even by the same manufacturer)were either too metalic, tinee or loud. I've been pleased with the V and H Dresser Duals I installed and the quality is better than OEM IMHO.Feb 6, 2015
Billy W:The cool thing about these slip-ons is you won't need to change your stock air filter or do anything to your computer chip. Now, if you do change the air filter to an aftermarket performance air filter, you will need to have your computer chip reprogrammed. I installed the pipes myself and it was a very simple install. I have a 2014 Street Glide Special and these pipes sound great. I noticed a little hesitation after installation. After about 15 minutes of normal riding my computer chip learned the new settings required for the new pipes and bike runs smoothly and that's with the stock air filter.. Your Harley dealer can tell you more about computer chip programming. Hope this helps. Enjoy the pipes.Jul 30, 2014
Dennis P:Yes you can put the monster rounds on first without the other modifications and it will sound great, much better than the stock mufflers. When you can change out the header pipes, by doing that it eliminates the catalytic converter which causes a lot of heat. The new header pipes will flow better and increase the horse power. Put on a open air cleaner with a K & N filter. With these changes it definitely run better. I don't know about the performance chip I would talk to a Harley tech. I have a 110 inch C V O and it's a completely different animal. I know you be very happy with the changes. Be safe and ride on. . .Jul 31, 2014
Josh C:I put on my header pipes (v&h dresser duals) & the monster rounds silencers w/o the intake or chip and ran it that way for a while, you don't need to chip it until u put the different air cleaner on it (it can't suck any more air with the stock air cleaner)Jul 31, 2014
Timothy D:I would put a high flow air filter on the bike if I'm changing the exhaust just on general principle. It's easy to do doesn't cost much and you will notice the performance. It's not that big of a change where you will have to reprogram the ECM.Jul 31, 2014
Dennis P:Thanks for asking this question as I had many myself. No you do not need to change out the header pipes the monster rounds are a direct slip on and sound great. However I did change out the header pipes on my 2012 street glide by doing this it removed the catalytic converter which gets very hot under your right foot. This will increase the performance and sound of your exhaust system. Hope this answers your question.
Stay calm and ride on. Mar 9, 2014
Timothy D:The Monster Rounds should fit on the stock Harley exhaust. However, I would HIGHLY recommend replacing the stock exhaust with True Duals and getting rid of that power-sucking catalytic converter. The slip-ons are great by themselves but will work much better with headers...my opinion.Mar 9, 2014
CHRIS K:It is not a requirement; however why own such an expensive motorcycle and not take good care of it? Not installing the appropriate headers, adding a fuel management system and getting properly tuned will only decrease the life of your engine. Not to mention, fuel economy, etc.Mar 9, 2014
