Easy install and Great sound!
Install only took 1 1/2 hours. It would have been less if I didn't run into an already stripped Allen head bolt that I had to deal with. The Vance & Hines Cruzers came with easy to read, step by step instructions how to remove the stock pipes and install the new. The instructions matched perfectly as they were designed specifically for my 2001 Yamaha V Star 650 Classic. I saved big $ by doing it myself. I'd recommend ordering a Vance & Hines Jet kit when u order your pipes since it will make your bike run as good as it will sound with these pipes! Utube videos don't come close to how awesome they will sound when you fire then up!!

I want a throatier throttle on my bike and everyone I've talked to who has put these on their bikes have nothing but extreme praise for them

I picked these at the time for my vstar 650 because of the review and utube videos I saw hearing them. There installed very easily, I did them by myself as well as changing the jet kit. Awesome sound for a 650!!

with the cruzer pipes on a 2002 v star 650 would I have to do any tuning or just bolt on and go ?
A shopper on May 20, 2015
BEST ANSWER: Yes, I would highly recommend installing a jet kit. If it runs too lean with the stock jets...you'll have blue pipes from getting too hot coming off the manifolds. I used the Vance and Hines Jet kit with mine. It works great and was relatively easy to install with the directions that came with the jets. The directions gives you the starting point for the pin height settings. Mine was right on the money with their suggestions, for fuel/air mixture.
Where can I hear what they sound like?
