WOW!!! just switch out these mufflers from my stock ones and its like night and day. NOW i have a real sounding Harley!!! runs rough so ill need to get the efi remapped. March 26, 2015
They are Loud but sound so gooooood. Added these to my 2015 Sportster XL1200C and what a difference they make my bike sounds like a Harley now. I was afraid my wife would not like how loud they were but she fell in love with the sound. I had a hard time getting the muffler clamps on but after playing with them for about 15 minutes I figured them out. The directions said to loosen the heat shields and remove the muffler mounting bar but I did not have to do that. The one thing that is missing is the torque values. For a 2015 Sportster they are Muffler Clamp 38-43 ft-lbs, Muffler mounting bracket fasteners 17-20 ft-lbs and Exhaust shield worm drive clamps 20-40in-lbs. In would assume these values would be good for most bikes. March 2, 2015
AWESOME PIPES! After reading numerous reviews on these pipes I decided these were the ones for me. I bought a new Forty-Eight and wanted some simple slip-ons that would get me that fat Harley Sound. Not only did these pipes show up to my door in LESS THAN 24 hours, they are AWESOME! Extremely easy installation (coming from someone who has NEVER worked on a bike before). These pipes look amazing too....the craftsmanship is top notch. You CANNOT go wrong with these! November 16, 2014
Great sounding pipes Shipping was fast and they was package good bike ran good and sounds awesome October 27, 2014
Just what I was looking for I bought a 2014 Sportster 1200T and the stock sound was very weak. To me it didn't even sound like a Harley. On my older 883 I had full Screaming Eagle II pipes and I wanted a similar sound. The new Screaming Eagle slip on for 2014-2015 do not claim to mimic the sound of SE II. So I went looking for something different and the guys at Harely recommended these. They are not quite as loud as the Screaming Eagle, but they still sound great. Very deep and it sounds like a Harley now. The guys at work say they "can hear me coming from a mile away" but they are not obnoxiously loud. I left the baffles in that came with it. I really cant imagine how some people said these are "too loud" but neither are they too quiet. I'd say they are perfect! I had some friends help me install them and we ran into trouble twice. Getting the new pipe onto the old clamp was difficult. We ended up using WD40 and a sledge hammer and then it went right on. Too bad we struggled for so long before that. Secondly, after the muffler was on we put the heat shields back on the stock part, but one wouldn't fit. It actually makes more sense to put the top heat shields on before putting the slip on mufflers back on, because the heat shield has to be slipped under the muffler. We took it back apart and then it worked fine. Overall I think these are great and I am very happy with the purchase. Be aware you will probably have to remap your ECU. I was having backfiring. Gave me that Harley sound I was looking for, but the decibels are up ... I love the look of these Twin Slash slip-ons. They arrived right away and in great condition- no complaints here. The directions were easy to follow. They fit perfectly on my 2014 Superlow T 1200. I removed the V&H baffles that came with the exhaust and replaced them with quiet baffles. I did not try the slip ons with the original V&H baffles because I thought they would have been too difficult to remove once installed. After I added the quiet baffles the decibel sound pressure levels increased by 6-7 dBA over the Harley stock exhaust. For reference- a 3-5 dBA increase is perceived as a doubling in the sound intensity by the human ear. Nevertheless, they sound great and I'm very pleased. They are not obnoxious where they will disturb the neighbors. I can't tell yet if I picked up any additional horse power or fuel mileage, time will tell. By the way, the quiet baffles were a pain to install- check out my review for that product. September 28, 2014
Now my Harley sounds like a Harley Had these put on my 2014 Harley XL 883N Iron and, wow, do they sound awesome, and they look good too. What a difference between the stock pipes and these. At first, I thought maybe they were too loud 'cause they actually gave me a headache. After a couple of days of ear plugs, then forgetting to put the plugs in, I've gotten used to them. My bike actually rides a bit better too. A friend likened my stock pipes to someone running with their mouths closed. Definitely a lot throatier and now my bike sounds like she's a Harley. Good, but pricey Great sound and look on my stock 2014 Iron. A bit pricey for slip ons (if you order the black ones). For a little extra I could have purchased V&H Short Shots, but I am very happy with the product and would recommend these to a friend. July 7, 2014

A shopper asked: Hello i have an iron 2014 and I hesitate between the slips and the short cut. I prefer the short cut look but I fear the sound to be too loud and with less bass than the slips. Any advices? Many thanks for you help. Remy Nov 1, 2014

landon r: Hey I too have a 2014 iron I went with the slash cut slip on and they are awesome looking as well as sounding! Not terribly loud but they definitely get noticed. My buddy has the short shots and while I like there look I find that because the pipes end about where the riders ears sits the tend to get annoying after a bit best of luck! Nov 1, 2014

brice h: Short cuts are pretty loud, and we put the quiet baffles in my wife's twin slash, it sounds really nice and the baffles add back pressure. I also added a dynajet power vision and the bike runs perfect Nov 1, 2014

A shopper asked: I see that the black slip ons have the black heat shield do they come with that or do you have to purchase them separately? May 29, 2014
Answer this · Send to friends Good question? Yes (0) No (0)
landon r: The heat shields for the slip on portion of the exhaust are included you do however have to purchase seperate black shields for the pipe portion from engine exit to the slip onsif u so choose. I think the stock chrome into black slip ons is sweet just my opinion. Jun 11, 2014

Kevin L: They come with them, you pay and extra $66+ for the black option. You do not need to purchase anything separate for these slip ons. Jun 11, 2014

A shopper asked: I am shopping mufflers for my new Harley Davison 48 Sportster 2014 1200XL...With these mufflers - Do I need to do anything with air filter ? I've read lots of it and some says to keep the performance or improve we need to change the air filter system as well. Please advise. May 6, 2014

Troy S: I've got these on my Iron 883 with no performance issues. I didn't need to do any re-tuning (I've got the stock air filter).

They sound great! Not obnoxiously loud, but people definitely hear me coming and going. :)
