USWE RR1 Handsfree 0.5 L Hydration System

The factory hydration system for the most demanding roadracing/endurance rider. The slim hydration bladder fits into the hump of the racing suit, and the drink tube with bite valve gets installed inside helmet for 100% handsfree hydration. Perfect for fast and ruff-racing for 30-60 minutes. The hydration bladder is stored in the hump of the leather suit. It is strongly recommended that the consumer contact the leather suit manufacturer before modifying the hump.

The Disposable Hydration Bladders are hygienic and simple to use, and give complete peace of mind. By allowing users to simply remove, replace and recycle bladders when needed it eliminates the possibility of nasty germs growing inside previously used bladders. They recommend that bladders used with any liquid other than pure water be replaced after every ride. Bladders filled only with water can be reused a number of times, just wash them with fresh water as soon as you can after, and then again before, each use. Their disposable bladders are manufactured from a strong plastic foil which is recyclable, BPA-free and approved for food stuffs.

Hands free or nah? I purchased this item specifically because it would fit in the speed hump of my race jacket and it was "hands free". When I received it, there was no "hands free kit" as shown in the pictures which is what appears to be black velcro. It did, however come with 1 black ziptie and some faded xerox copy of "instructions". Which was fine, I had the principle down. What it showed to do to make it "hands free" was to remove the cheek padding and run the hose under it. I did so and I was able to fit my cheek padding back in easily. Now the problem is that the bite valve was 90 degrees from my face and running along the front of my helmet. I've seen pictures of this going in through the front of dirt helmets and I see how it will work with the straight bite valve, but its not gonna work hands free inside of a street helmet. Yes i know this is in the "mx" category. This system is used by motogp and the instructions showed a street helmet being used. Its also not possible for me to keep it in my mouth while riding because it simply pulls too much. I think with a 90 degree bite valve this may have the possibility of being hands free. With all that being said, Its easy to connect and disconnect while reaching behind my head with leathers on. It does function well, just not as a hands free system like its marketed. It came with 5 bags in case I ever decide to use gatorade, they are reusable if you just use water. It does it in my speed hump nicely although i will need to drill the hole a little bigger in my rev'it jacket. Not to mention it looks pretty cool coming out of your helmet. So long story short: For use in a street full face helmet; get the 90 degree bite valve with this. Buy a water at the store and it will fit fine and leave a few sips left for you. June 30, 2014
