Great product! My buddy and I purchased these for our trip to N.C. Best investment in a long time. We're able to communicate during the ride and the GPS prompts could be heard from my bike through the headsets which was a real plus. It really helped driving through Atlanta. Phone calls are a breeze. People cannot tell I am on a bike when talking. Most of the time I am riding a half helmet with the earbuds but also have a 3/4 I use with the speakers. On the Limited I have no trouble hearing at all speeds but when I am on the Fat Bob it is a little hard to hear above 70 mph using earbuds without turning the volume way up. Most of the time riding by myself I listen to music which sounds great. Very satisfied with this purchase. July 24, 2015
No good The range is not even close to what is promised, works up to about 100 feet. Revzilla rep said to get these because they are for snowmobiling. After about a half an hour, the microphone gets moisture from breath and freezes leaving the unit inoperable. Poor quality and design. May 12, 2015
Great gift! Purchased as gift - Harley rider excited about the HD application. ZLA provided great customer service when responding to questions and provided fast ship! December 29, 2014
ease of use ohhh yeah!! when wife bought this product I wasn't sure of it because of the cost (very reasonable# as we had been using midlands #not good for touring bikes)again her perchase. but after spending about 5 mins. installing and going for a ride on I-80 into town, about 20 miles, at speeds of up to 75mph and at distance of 20 to 300 yds. during the ride I can honestly say WOW. seriously at 75 mph wind was a bit hard on each other hearing but at 65 to 70 no problem and to boot while we were riding I received a cell call on the Bluetooth and it was clear as a bell and with just a touch of the button I was talking away. I highly recommend this system its just what we needed for our trips oh and when we went to visit our son in CO his bmw sys paired right up with ours bang for the you bet! try'em I think you will agree! dissapointed Very disappointed with the product. To be fair, I hope that the microphone placement is correct but don't see any other way it could work. You can feel the pads for the microphone and makes it very un comfortable creating pressure points on your head. Clarity is terrible even when synced with the GPS. Not sure that they should be used with half helmets. September 23, 2014
Overall great product! I'm very satisfied with this product. I wear a half helmet and ride without a windshield. The sound quality is very good for listening to music, communications and even phone calls. The fact that it answers the phone when it rings by me just saying hello is great. People on the other end of communication like phone and riders hear me great. The only issue I have, and why I did not rate it higher is because to set it up so that rider and passenger both listen to the same music requires that the units be re-paired every time. Too difficult to do while riding, so you have to plan it in advance and it's a bit of a pain. Maybe a future firmware release can fix that. I don't know. September 17, 2014
Awesome with Half Helm and earbuds!! Purchased this to communicate with a buddy on our latest 10 day road trip. Used with firmware 2.07 On my 2006 HD Heritage Softail Classic it worked awesome, sound was clear for intercoms and music. My buddy said he could barley hear the exhaust unless I cracked her open. Only thing missing is an APP to preset configurations. Used Sony Xperia Z2 built in Smart Connect APP to auto start music upon connecting to the Uclear via bluetooth. Had trouble with voice commands to make phone calls... My Harley was probably too loud for the Sony phone's voice recognition. Using the speakers(v2) in an Icon Variant in windy conditions on my CBR 600 RR proved to be just average for sound; this is probably due to the wind noise of the helmet. Probably going to switch it to earbuds as well and deal with a little bit of cord inconvenience. Or find a helmet that is windproof. Just installed the new North American firmware v2.15 last night, Noticed music control was more responsive for switching tracks and adjusting volume. Haven't tested anything else yet. uclear-digital.com/us/firmware/ and the APP which is in BETA, Only use so far was the battery life of the Uclear. I hope they develop this further for group configurations. uclear-digital.com/en/UClearHub Conclusion Great for Half Helmet + earbuds setup! Boomless is the way to go here. Average for Icon Variant + speakers. Only tested music so far. To be tested, Icon Variant + earbuds... September 5, 2014
Very good bluetooth communication unit This is a very good intercom system, was unable to distinguish whether the phone call was from a car or a motorbike using an open face helmet on a Fatboy. August 4, 2014

Devin L: Riding my Harley, I didn't want a boom sticking out using my half helm. I also have the option of using earbuds with this kit. Time will tell which I prefer. For my sports bike and icon variant, I brought the UAP200 accessory kit so I have every option covered, and provide me with a backup charger. Jun 6, 2014
Vincent S asked: Can both the rider and passenger connect via bluetooth to the same phone? That way both can hear the same music and talk to each other. Aug 28, 2014

Vincent S: Rider and passenger can both listen to the music on the same bluetooth device, HOWEVER, the units must be re-paired before use every time to enable that feature. Too difficult to do while riding so it must be planned in advance and is a bit of a pain. Sep 17, 2014

Karl L: You can't both pair to the same phone but you can both listen to the same music with just one person paired to the phone. The bluetooth connection between the units does it for you through the "share music" feature. Aug 29, 2014

A shopper asked: I wear half during summer and full when it gets cooler, will this work on both? Aug 1, 2014
Answer this · Send to friends Good question? Yes (0) No (0)
Larry W: Yes it will, you get the ear buds and the speaker set that will work in your full helmet. The only thing is you will need to buy another external mount because you will need two; one for each helmet. I just bought some Velcro for my half helmet, and I used the external mount from the kit for my full helmet. Aug 1, 2014

Naomi P: Yes, it works very well with a full face, and after packing out the speakers to suit, and repositioning the mics, quite well in the open face helmet. Aug 4, 2014

Devin L: Yes, I have my half cap wired with the earbuds and my fullface with the speakers then switch the Bluetooth unit from helmet to helmet as desired. Aug 1, 2014

Mark W: It will work on both but it take a bit of work to transfer the speakers and mics. Aug 2, 2014

Shabaka D asked: I would like your opinion on which is the better overall product since you guys have sampled the 2 I'm considering. I'm considering the U-clear hbc200 hd and the sena 20s? Please help Oct 5, 2014
Answer this · Send to friends Good question? Yes (0) No (0)
vernon p: I have the Sena SPH10HD. They work far better than the Uclear in my opinion. Depending on what type of helmet you use though. I think with half helmets you are limited. The wind is the issue - always keeping the VOX open. When you are going over 60 mph they don't work well for intercom but are good for music. Oct 5, 2014

robert H: Hi, I found the uclear to be easy to install and very clear to hear. We change ours around with different helmets so i need it to be quick. The boomless mic is a lot more hygeinic as well. It links to everything with the phone soo easy. Good luck..rob Oct 6, 2014

Naomi P: I have only used the U-clear hbc200hd, not the other one, I am really happy with the U-clear system, it works really well for a boomless intercom, mind you at over 80km/h the intercom on an open-face is by no means perfect, it is still very good. With a good helmet it will perform even better, I only have $120 full face. Oct 6, 2014

A S asked: Can I use this with the Bell Rogue? Jun 3, 2014
Answer this · Send to friends Good question? Yes (0) No (0)
Johnathan C: I've installed the UClear HBC200HD in my Bell Rogue; installation is very easy with pockets for the speakers. I clipped on the bluetooth unit instead of sticking it on, as there isn't a smooth surface at the location which i wanted to install the unit.

Only thing to note is that the it's a little tight on the ears when worn. Something i think would defer among users since it's really got to do with the head profile you got.

Overall, this thing works well for the Bell Rogue. I installed the other unit onto a Shoei Freedom open face helmet; this one was a little tougher, with the need to cut some opening at the cushion area for the cables to go through.

C Eugene S: it might work- my set would not update to recommended software, also the volume could not be adjusted using the earbuds. Jun 3, 2014

Devin L: There is a new firmware update to 2.15 to remedy and make sure you are on the correct site when downloading the firmware. With 2.07 , I was on the UK site and didnt notice. Therefore not letting me update my unit. Tech support provided me with the proper link to the North American site, and everything has been good since. For some reason my ip address sent me to the UK site by default. Sep 4, 2014
Larry W: I should think so I am using mine on a Rebel; which is similar to the Rogue, but made by Skid Lid I think. Jun 5, 2014

A shopper asked: If we purchase the dual system is it capable of two people listening to their own music and able to communicate with each other? If I am singing along to the music will the other person be able to hear me? Aug 3, 2014
Answer this · Send to friends Good question? Yes (0) No (0)
David M: each wearing rider can listen to independent music via, Bluetooth streaming, line in audio or FM radio. without any interaction with the other units.... so sing your guts out. The intercom feature is not simultaneous with music.. Aug 5, 2014

A shopper asked: I am considering the HBC200 HD for use on a 2014 HD Ultra. Will I be able to use the CB feature with the HBC200 or would I need the boom mic for that and the HBC for the bluetooth, etc features? Oct 28, 2014

vernon p: I have a '14 Ultra CVO Limited. I found with the half helmets it wasn't very good. When you get to speeds over 50 mph it was useless. I also have a 2-1 V&H Pro Pipe which sets off the communication device and keeps it open and you can hear wind noise. In regards to the CB, I don't think it will work as the Infotainment interface does not work with all Bluetooth devices. I have read - it's something to do with safety issues while driving. I think this unit would work better with a full or modular helmet. You can also feel the micro phones pressing against your head causing pressure points. I have the Sean for half helmets on my other bike and it has issues to but is far better than the Uclear in my opinion. Hope this helps!! Nov 11, 2014
