RevZilla Store asked: Why did you choose this?
Kevin R: Was cheap and on sale. I wish it didn't have the racing hump, because it looks silly and is unnecessary for street use, but for the hot summers we have in the mountains around here this did the trick while I was losing weight. Next summer I'll spring for a vented leather jacket. Feb 5, 2014
Vance P: My favorite summer jacket! I never regretted wearing it even when the temp. got up to 90F+. I'd reccomend it to anyone that has a habit of riding in just a vest or just a back protector, it really isn't that bad in comparison, and having the piece of mind that my skin would survive getting knocked over by a prius is a plus! ...its always a prius... jr m: my fav jacket ever!!! Oct 2, 2013
Dirk K: Needed a summer jacket that breathed better then a non-perforated leather jacket. Jacket breathes unbelievably well, can get cold at times riding at night. Size was near perfect, however, waist could of been taken in about an inch. Aug 29, 2013
Nicholas S: For the looks and the fact that I can use it year round Aug 7, 2013
A shopper asked: Could you wear a motorcycle backpack with this jacket? Or is there one that's specially made for this jacket? Because I want this jacket but I also want to get a backpack to where when riding Aug 12, 2013

Kraig B: If it hangs low enough. The hump at the upper back may get in the way if the backpack rides high enough. It's thickest at the base of the neck and tapers down to about mid back. I wouldn't think it would be too big of a deal. Try it. If you don't like it, return it. Revzilla has a great return policy. In fact, I had to return my first one due to sizing issues. They said to use one size larger than what is normally used, but I found that to be too big. I returned it and reordered the size I normally use, and got a perfect fit. Aug 12, 2013

David Y: It would be uncomfortable and also impractical to wear a backpack with this jacket normally. However it is possible to remove the aerodynamic hump if you choose. Use a thread cutter or small scissors to take out the stitches around the perimeter of the hump. This does not affect the integrity of the jacket since the hump is attached after the jacket is sewn together. Removing it doesn't leave an unsightly mark either, it just looks like a normal jacket. Hope this helps. Aug 25, 2013

Kevin R: I would say that it's technically possible if you have long enough backpack straps to compensate, but it'd be VERY uncomfortable. The speed hump will get in the way. It's WAY BIGGER than it appears to be in the photos. Even if I rode with backpacks, I'd never consider trying one with this jacket.

That said, it's really dangerous to ride with a backpack anyway. Don't do it; your spine will thank you in an accident.

Bobby A: I had this jacket for about one month and had a very back wreck with it. It held up incredibly well. I slid for 200 feet under the bike (my foot was caought under the fariting). It is an incredible deal for the money. The answer to your question is that yes you can but the hump is big. It could irrate you depending on how much weight you are going to carry in the back pack. I hope this helps. Sep 3, 2013

Brandon C: I have had this jacket for a free months now. I absolutely love it. The jacket seems super protective for a mesh style jacket. I can wear a backpack with my jacket with no problem. I have worn my kriega us30 and my camelbak hydration backpack as well. The hump does make the backpack fit a little tighter than without a hump so just adjust the straps on the bag. Hope this helps. Kevin H: The hump is high on the back - more between your shoulders.

If the bag is low slung, maybe . . . if you don't jam the pack full of the stuff it shouldn't be uncomfortable.
If it's one of those hard-case aerodynamic things, no.

Tank bags are always better IMO anyway.

Devin M: Yes it is possible to wear a backpack, its not as comfortable and can get snagged on the outer armor. But it is possible, just not as comfortable. And for finding a backpack compatible with a race hump, i doubt there is anything out there. Hope it helps Aug 12, 2013

James B: I have worn a Givi backpack with the jacket. It is ok, but not ideal. The hump means that the backpack needs to hang a bit lower if possible. Maybe one of the smaller commuter backpacks would be better. Aug 12, 2013

Samuel M: I have no problem wearing a fully loaded backpack with this jacket. Yes, it will be a little tighter across the top of your back. In spite of this, I've had no comfort issues. Aug 12, 2013

Gregory M: I don't think you could wear a conventional backpack with this jacket. The aerodynamic 'hump' would not allow a backpack to be worn. I think only a fanny pack would work. Aug 12, 2013

Ivan P: Don't know about a special backpack for this jacket but wearing a normal backpack is not advisable. Aug 12, 2013

Frank M: I wear a sling without any problems......it rides under the hump Aug 13, 2013

Teknic jacket and race suits are European cut and are more narrow in the arms, chest and shoulders than other brands.  Their leathers are particularly form fitting.  RevZilla recommends ordering jackets and suits one size larger than Teknic size charts suggest.
