This product has great features It is relley good in the cooled and hot werher hear in wi.... I recommend it if u like to do spring or fall riding March 31, 2014
Nice jacket but can be very warm This was my first riding jacket and for the price ($100 on sale) I cant really complain. The build quality seems really good and looks are very cool, I get complements on it all the time. The vent zippers all have long, easy to grab pulls and the vest liner keeps you warm in colder weather. My only complaint is the lack of airflow. During the warmer summer months this jacket left me soaked in sweat every ride. This may just be me though as I tend to sweat very easily. Overall this is a very nice jacket. March 24, 2014
Excellent value Wow..... I saw this jacket on the closeout rack online. Watch video review and was sold instantly. Ordered with free shipping and it was there in 2 days. The jacket exceeded my expectations in style and comfort. It's a everyday jacket that covers 4 different seasons of the year. I highly recommend this jacket March 12, 2014
Great Early Spring/Late Fall Jacket Got this on clearance here at Revzilla, so bang for the buck was excellent. Has all the features you expect: snap adjusters on the arms, armor in elbows/back/shoulders, pants connector, arm/back vents. Build quality appears great. Have ridden in it quite a bit in the last few weeks and this is what I've found: The tail of the jacket is longer than the front which is nice to keep that plumbers crack concealed! Velcro adjusters at wrists and sides are easy to use with gloves. Arm vents are generous, but because it's a waterproof jacket it vents between the liner and the shell. Great for keeping you dry, not so much for keeping you cool. There is a removeable quilted vest that extends the wearable temp range a few degrees. So far I have ridden in 35-40 degree weather and 55+. At the lower end there is not quite enough to keep you warm (though to be fair this is NOT a winter jacket). Above 60 you'd better have vents open and be moving or you will sweat. In the sweet spot (at least for the Pacific NW) at 45-60 it is a great jacket. Love the neoprene neck liner. The shoulder pads are unobtrusive (best aspect of protective gear IMO). On the con side I felt like the spine pad rode a little high, but my previous jackets didn't have this feature so maybe it's a getting used to it issue. The elbow protection tends to creep around the arm so that in riding position (at least on a sportbike) it's more like side of elbow protection. Definitely waterproof, even in the front zipper area. I like that the sleeves are narrow enough to fit under my gauntlet gloves. I'm 5'10" and about 235 lbs with a 50" chest. Got the 52 so I could wear a hoodie or layers underneath and it fits fine in chest, big around waist and arms a little long (but that is to be expected when ordering a size up). Other than that the fit is good and true to size. Love the jacket and would definitely recommend it to anyone looking for a jacket that will get you riding earlier in the season, and let you ride a little later into the season. For the summer I'll be looking for a mesh jacket likely. March 11, 2014
Great buy for the price, works well for brisk winter rides. This Teknic textile jacket so far is perfect. I'm 5'9" 200 lbs and I ordered a 48 just so I could squeeze in some layers underneath for winter riding. Down into the high 30s this jacket is awesome! It keeps my core nice and warm and my arms along with it. I have yet to ride in the summer months with this jacket but I have a feeling it may get a little warm, good thing there are vents on the jacket. Although it may be a little warm I know the textile material will help in the event of a crash. I love the style and the arms are slightly angled for sport riders. I may end up buying a smaller second just for summer months. Great price/buy and you know Teknic gear is durable. February 17, 2014
Great Jacket This jacket is great. I already went down again wearing this jacket and just minor scratches on jacket shoulder. Protection was awesome. Went down about 35mph and you can't tell unless you really inspect the jacket December 16, 2013
Great Spring/ Fall Jacket I purchased the jacket mainly for the lining to keep me warm during the colder season. Its far from a winter jacket but does very well anywhere from 50 degrees to around 70. It doesnt seem like it would have adequate ventilation for a summer jacket. December 2, 2013

A shopper asked: How thick is the outer textile layer? I ask because I would b using it in a 80 to 90 degree tropical weather all year round. I've seen the other responses confirming that it is waterproof but my next concern is if it'll be too warm/hot to wear. Feb 26, 2014

Nicholas D: The only time I find issues with this jacket is when I'm not moving (stop somewhere, at a red light, etc.) and it's hot out, my arms will start to sweat and get sticky. Which is because it is waterproof and that the inside liner is non-breathable plastic to provide this. The rest of my body is fine and the jacket does have full zipper vents down the arm which helps bring in cool air. The only jacket I have found to be very comfortable in hot humid weather is a mesh jacket, but you lose any waterproofing. It's not a heavy jacket by any means and is what I wear all summer, and has decent padding. Keep vents open and keep moving and you should be fine. Otherwise try something without waterproofing for staying cooler. Feb 26, 2014

Tyler A: 80 to 90 degrees Fahrenheit year-round is on the upper limit of or beyond this jacket's ideal temperature use in my experience as far as comfort. Any temps in the 90s get pretty uncomfortable. Also take into account your average speeds since with the arm and back vents open/unzipped, the jacket is fairly comfortable at 80 F or less if you're moving at about 45-50 mph or more. Morning and evening temps vary greatly also depending on your location. I'd say probably get something more mesh or better ventilated than this jacket if you're always riding in the 80-90 degrees F temperature range. Feb 26, 2014

Kent B: the outer shell is actually pretty thin, the problem is that you cannot get very much air flow going through the jacket. there are only a couple vents in the armpits that you can open up, nothing on the chest. this is okay for freeway riding but if you are in traffic you will start to overheat pretty quickly. I would personally recommend an alternate jacket for summer riding, especially since you are in tropical areas and this jacket will make you sweat Feb 26, 2014

Jordan L: I wear mine in 80-90 degrees but its deffenetly not made for the 90 degree stuff it's a bit warm very nice coumphy jacket otherwise tho but I wouldn't recomend it for any thing warmer then 85 fit is almost exactly perfect! 6'5'' and I got a 50 the vents are ok but would be nice to have a couple more would make the jacket more versatile for the warm stuff Feb 26, 2014

Kevin R: Hey Shopper,
I live in South Florida, so I can relate to the weather you experience. Personally, I find the jacket a bit too warm for those temps. This is where owning multiple jackets is useful. You gotta dress for the occasion.

Evan R: I found the jacket to be very hot during summer months in Massachusetts as well as finding that the "water proof" claims to be a bit exaggerated. Got caught in the rain twice and was soaked in 10minutes. Great jacket but you will be quite hot. Feb 26, 2014

A shopper asked: Hi, It was not clear to me if the jacket is still waterproof even after the liner is removed.

Other question: is the spine guard hard enough? If not, is possible to change it for a Knox´s or Alpniestars´ models?

Thanks,
Nov 22, 2013

Samuel H: The jacket is still waterproof after the liner is removed in fact all the liner really does is to make it a bit warmer for fall riding. as far as the armor goes as long as you can find the right size of armor plates you can switch it out with any kind of armor but having armor that is too hard isn't good as it will hurt you just as much as the road if its too hard. Nicholas D: The jacket is still waterproof with the liner removed. The removal liner is actually only an insulated vent that provides more warmth and isn't waterproof. The spine guard isn't very hard, not sure what you mean by hard enough, but should be good protection, and definitely better then nothing. Not sure if you could change it out for another brand of guard. Nov 24, 2013

Evan R: No the jacket is NOT waterproof after removing the liners. Also the protector is soft, going with a force field or Knox would be a great addition to the jacket. I got hit on my bike and the jacket saved me a deal of injury. Great product. Nov 22, 2013

Pierre P: Yes even if you remove the liner it doesn't affect the waterproof .
You can probably change the spine guard. I removed mine since I didn't like the feeling in my back

Melanie M: Hello,

Yes, the spine guard is great because its not only build to mold with your spine when u ride but its hard as well.

Ivan D: Spine Guard is limited with protection and changing it for the models you have listed isn't the best fit. All the best Nov 22, 2013

Teknic jacket and race suits are European cut and are more narrow in the arms, chest and shoulders than other brands.  Their leathers are particularly form fitting.  RevZilla recommends ordering jackets and suits one size larger than Teknic size charts suggest.
