daniel n: Chose the black/ red / white to match my Repsol Honda because of the price for what you get. Has all the features of more expensive jackets at a fraction of the cost and also had very good reviews on my internet search Sep 18, 2013
Adrian C: Provide protection, it looks good and matches with the other Teknic gear and helmets that I have . Sep 6, 2013

A shopper asked: How thick is the outer textile layer? I ask because I would b using it in a 80 to 90 degree tropical weather all year round. I've seen the other responses confirming that it is waterproof but my next concern is if it'll be too warm/hot to wear. Feb 26, 2014

Nicholas D: The only time I find issues with this jacket is when I'm not moving (stop somewhere, at a red light, etc.) and it's hot out, my arms will start to sweat and get sticky. Which is because it is waterproof and that the inside liner is non-breathable plastic to provide this. The rest of my body is fine and the jacket does have full zipper vents down the arm which helps bring in cool air. The only jacket I have found to be very comfortable in hot humid weather is a mesh jacket, but you lose any waterproofing. It's not a heavy jacket by any means and is what I wear all summer, and has decent padding. Keep vents open and keep moving and you should be fine. Otherwise try something without waterproofing for staying cooler. Feb 26, 2014

Tyler A: 80 to 90 degrees Fahrenheit year-round is on the upper limit of or beyond this jacket's ideal temperature use in my experience as far as comfort. Any temps in the 90s get pretty uncomfortable. Also take into account your average speeds since with the arm and back vents open/unzipped, the jacket is fairly comfortable at 80 F or less if you're moving at about 45-50 mph or more. Morning and evening temps vary greatly also depending on your location. I'd say probably get something more mesh or better ventilated than this jacket if you're always riding in the 80-90 degrees F temperature range. Feb 26, 2014

Kent B: the outer shell is actually pretty thin, the problem is that you cannot get very much air flow going through the jacket. there are only a couple vents in the armpits that you can open up, nothing on the chest. this is okay for freeway riding but if you are in traffic you will start to overheat pretty quickly. I would personally recommend an alternate jacket for summer riding, especially since you are in tropical areas and this jacket will make you sweat Feb 26, 2014

Jordan L: I wear mine in 80-90 degrees but its deffenetly not made for the 90 degree stuff it's a bit warm very nice coumphy jacket otherwise tho but I wouldn't recomend it for any thing warmer then 85 fit is almost exactly perfect! 6'5'' and I got a 50 the vents are ok but would be nice to have a couple more would make the jacket more versatile for the warm stuff Feb 26, 2014

Kevin R: Hey Shopper,
I live in South Florida, so I can relate to the weather you experience. Personally, I find the jacket a bit too warm for those temps. This is where owning multiple jackets is useful. You gotta dress for the occasion.

Evan R: I found the jacket to be very hot during summer months in Massachusetts as well as finding that the "water proof" claims to be a bit exaggerated. Got caught in the rain twice and was soaked in 10minutes. Great jacket but you will be quite hot. Feb 26, 2014

A shopper asked: Hi, It was not clear to me if the jacket is still waterproof even after the liner is removed.

Other question: is the spine guard hard enough? If not, is possible to change it for a Knox´s or Alpniestars´ models?

Thanks,
Nov 22, 2013

Samuel H: The jacket is still waterproof after the liner is removed in fact all the liner really does is to make it a bit warmer for fall riding. as far as the armor goes as long as you can find the right size of armor plates you can switch it out with any kind of armor but having armor that is too hard isn't good as it will hurt you just as much as the road if its too hard. Nicholas D: The jacket is still waterproof with the liner removed. The removal liner is actually only an insulated vent that provides more warmth and isn't waterproof. The spine guard isn't very hard, not sure what you mean by hard enough, but should be good protection, and definitely better then nothing. Not sure if you could change it out for another brand of guard. Nov 24, 2013

Evan R: No the jacket is NOT waterproof after removing the liners. Also the protector is soft, going with a force field or Knox would be a great addition to the jacket. I got hit on my bike and the jacket saved me a deal of injury. Great product. Nov 22, 2013

Pierre P: Yes even if you remove the liner it doesn't affect the waterproof .
You can probably change the spine guard. I removed mine since I didn't like the feeling in my back

Melanie M: Hello,

Yes, the spine guard is great because its not only build to mold with your spine when u ride but its hard as well.

Ivan D: Spine Guard is limited with protection and changing it for the models you have listed isn't the best fit. All the best Nov 22, 2013

Teknic jacket and race suits are European cut and are more narrow in the arms, chest and shoulders than other brands.  Their leathers are particularly form fitting.  RevZilla recommends ordering jackets and suits one size larger than Teknic size charts suggest.
