The TechSpec C3 Center Tank Pros feature a 0.100” thin synthetic rubber compound that is soft and gummy to the touch. The special adhesive back allows the tank pads to be removed and re-positioned if necessary.
Protects tank from abuse
Will not damage leather or textile pants
Please use care when removing the paper backing from the adhesive so as not to pull the adhesive away from the Tank Pad
Note: Center pad only. Side tank pads sold separately. Installed image for shape and size reference only.
Raw First season rider review. I added this to my tank to prevent further scuffs to top of tank. (Plus): Covers area. Sticks to tank. (Minus): Smaller than expected. Material not sticky against clothes or riding jacket. Dull and getting duller. Design already wiping away. Only had on tank for a few weeks with limited exposure to sun and rub/tuck from riding jacket and starting to look like a light gray eraser.

I'd rather have this on the sides of my tank for gripping than on the front/top. It's definitely soft and cushy and gives a nice feel but it's nothing special compared to tank pads you can buy at dealers and stores. It doesn't look good on the tank in my opinion either, as compared to the competing glossed carbon fiber pads. It'll do the job though as far as scratch protection goes. Hopefully it doesn't wear out terribly since it's textured.

Does the job well
I spend a lot of time standing up on my bike so the tank pad has been put through a lot of wear and tear. So far it's been holding up well. Minor signs of wear. I recommend applying it with a blow dryer so it affixes more strongly. It has budged at all.

Fits great and looks great on the FZ8
I knew when looking at other tank pads I felt pretty limited between a loud colorful design with no info on performance or tech spec, a pricy option but excellent designs and simple shade of black.
I used warm air from my wife's hair dryer to help The pad flex to the tank, which It worked pretty good.
Looks good, grippy, and does the job. Just ordered the bike specific side pads to complete the project

Very good product for the price
The tank pad was extremely easy to install and adds a nice racing look to the bike.

Robinson D:This is only the pad where your zipper is. My zipper is not exposed to the tank Pad. But this material doesn't hold up well to any contact from your jacket. I have had this product for half of last year's summer in wny. And looks nothing like the day I placed it on. I do not recommend this product. This is definitely a temporary fix.Just a waste of my $$$ Hope this helpsFeb 21, 2015
phil m:The price will clue you to what you're getting. At $17 you only get the center pad. But you have a choice of shapes. The C3 is a thick pad and is not a good choice for multi curved tanks.(like a 013 multistrada) The adhesive is great but the rubber will crack where it goes over a step. Feb 20, 2015
terrence t:I bought two tank pads for the r1200gs adv gas tank. Both pads covered the tank pretty good. The adhesive is average. I reinforced the pads with military grade hundred mile hour tape. I like to leave and use the bike outside. They are still stuck on there like I had put them on yesterdayFeb 20, 2015
pamela t:Hi Tim, This is the center pad. That's all you get. It's a rectangular shape that fits on the tank and yes, it does help with protecting from buckles. I would recommend you get the techspec snakeskin version -- it's thicker and the package I got comes with center pad, two side pads.Feb 23, 2015
