Good product Ive had the boots for about 3 months and they are excelent. The only issue that ive noticed is that they do not breath very well in hot climates, its not bad. May 18, 2015
TCX S-Sportour Boot The boots are very well made have great looks and nice safety features, I wore them three times now it took a little while to get use to a hard boot but very comfortable, have not used them in real hot weather yet living in Florida the temperature can be a factor, at this point I would recommend this boot. Good protection, but narrow This is the first pair of riding boots that I have ever owned...the protection is definitely there. Initially, the boots were very tight and uncomfortable, so much so that I had almost sent them back...however, after a few rides in them, they broke in nicely, overall. They do run a bit on the narrow side, and even after having ridden in them a lot, they still rub against my pinky toes, as I have wide feet. If you are riding to a hiking destination, bring a separate pair of shoes to do the walking in. They are much more comfortable in a riding position, not for doing long walks in them. Riding in them certainly increases my confidence with regards to feeling better protected. Aside from them being a bit on the narrow side, their only other area of opportunity would be their lack of air flow...the price they are being sold for now is much improved over the $219.00 that I paid...I say go for it...good for a first pair of boots! Great boot! After reviewing several boots, I finally settled on the TCX S-Sportour. Sizing for me was a little difficult. I wear a 10 1/2 and the conversion chart has a 10 or an 11. I went with the size 11 which is true to size but it's a hair too long in the toe area. I felt getting a size 10 would be too cramped. I just put in a thicker sock liner and that solved the problem. The width was snug at first but that loosened up after breaking them in. I haven't had a chance to ride with them in hot weather but I can tell they don't flow much air. It has been cool out and my feet are nice and warm. I have worn them with my leather pants tucked in and also with jeans over the boot and they look great with both and are very comfortable. I highly recommend these boots and would definitely buy them again. October 14, 2014
Great boots These are great boots however I do warn other people that the boots are a bit on the narrow side June 2, 2014
Good entry-level multi-purpose protective boot This is the first full length motorcycle boot I've owned, previously I've stuck to 3/4 TCX hiking-style boots which were extremely comfortable but after recovering from getting hit by a car I decided I wanted something with better protection and I got a pair of these. I was very unsure about them at first and for a while until I got them broken in. They were so rigid at first that I could not feel my shift lever, was over-braking on the rear and occasionally when stopping at an intersection I'd have a bit of a scare when my left foot would become wedged between the peg and the shift-lever. Once they were finally broken in all of these problems went away and I am very happy with them. My only real complaint is that there is no air-flow in these. My feet sweat while wearing these mid-winter with even just a basic cotton sock. Come summer I may add some perforations for air-flow. They fit properly in size and width, they seem a bit narrow and there is no room to wiggle my toes but I don't wear them for more than a few hours at a time and I haven't had any issues with discomfort. So far very happy with them, just had to get over that initial hump of the break-in period. February 3, 2014
Smart money No need to drop big money on the latest big name kit these get it done just as well for abit less January 13, 2014
Good all around SPORT Touring Boot For those that like SPORT-Touring...excellent boot for extended days in the saddle. Fit is on spot, just buy your normal shoe size. No squeaks due to fancy protective plastics, and subtle under pants with no power ranger look going on. Would buy again if something happened to my current pair. September 9, 2013

charlie s: I originally tried these because I wanted a boot with a fair amount of protection and these seem to fit the bill. Got them and sizing wasn't quite right and my heel slipped. Might not be the same for you, but these seemed like quality boots for the day that I had them. Apr 3, 2015

B B: I returned these. They were way too stiff in the ankles and painfully narrow for my feet. Oct 24, 2013
Sam C: These were my first sportbike boots. They have excellent feel on the shifter/brake, and seem to have resonable protection. They also dont look too bad with jeans worn over the top of them. Sizing seems true Oct 8, 2013
David R: Wanted a boot similar in function to my current Sidi Fusion boot, but sightly wider. This fits the requirement. Aug 18, 2013

Thor C: I would think they would work well I ride a sport bike and hit the canyons and the track. It has been satisfactory in that role I plan to buy a more race oriented boot in the future. Dec 6, 2014

Syed N: I purchased a pair this year and, based on this experience, I say these boots run smaller than the actual size. So I suggest you go for the larger size (11) instead of 10. Please share your experience here when you have purchased them. Good luck. Mar 1, 2015

Ajay P: I am a size 7.5 and some how I got a euro size 41 and they are very comfortable to wear believe me going one size up would not be a problem rather than going down and not getting a good fit Mar 2, 2015

Dennis D asked: Thinking about a new pair of full sized boots for next riding season under $250.

Your thoughts on Alpinestars S-MX 5 (http://www.revzilla.com/product/alpinestars-s-mx-5-boot) vs TCX S-Sportour.

Additionally, did TCX drop down in quality or protection for the newer EVO version of these boots? The EVO version (currently available for preorder) is under $200.

I'm looking for the best bang for the buck protection wise. I'll be using these to commute on a naked sports bike.

Dave S: I ride a 2011 Multistrada- local and back roads, no touring, about 7000 miles per year. The TCX boots have held up exceptionally well. Very comfortable, not too hot in summer. No issues with zippers, Velcro, seams or soles - no issues at all. Would buy them again in a heartbeat and strongly recommend them. Bought a pair of alpinestars, Not nearly as comfortable and returned them. Nov 4, 2014

Scott L: I can't speak to the Alpinestars, but I have been wearing the TCX S-Sportours since June. They offer a great deal of protection and have been holding up very well (I have ridden just over 5,000 miles in them).
They are, however, a bit stiff, which is great on the bike, but not so much for walking around in for any extended period of time.

A shopper asked: Hi there, when I saw the review and heard about the differences between the angle of the bootleg compared to racing boots, I began to wonder which bike would fit them, so to speak. Is it the riding position or the style of riding that's important when choosing boots and where do these fit in ? Streetfighters and sporttourers only, or could you use them on a R6 for instance ? I'm looking for a boot which can be used on the track a couple weekends per year, but mostly for playing around on the smaller roads in my county.

Thx alot, Peter

RevZilla: These boots are really meant for the 3/4 Sport-Touring riding position. An occasional track day shouldn't be a problem, but they won't be as comfortable as a track boot since they are not designed for the full tuck position. Mar 28, 2012

trinirider: I believe they fit more into the sport tourer category. Ride and R6, everyday commuting, and they're great. Hope this helps. Jul 15, 2012
