TCX R-S2 Boots

TCX's new top of the line Race Boot.

Precise Air Fit System:

The exclusive P.A.F.S. system used in the new R-S2 offers motorcyclists a revolutionary precise fit system that can be personalized depending on the specific foot shape and guaranteed by the inner volume adjustment system. Can be personalized depending on the shape of the foot and the level of performance required. The Precise Air Fit System housed inside the boot gives a practical and fast fit that can be adjusted by closing the zip and VELCRO® brand closures as well as by simply “inflating” the air chamber. The air chamber, if inflated correctly, completes the boot’s safety features (represented by T.C.S. and M.C.S.), protecting the instep and shinbone in the event of impact.

Race Performance Footbed:

The RACE PERFORMANCE insole is made from expanded, light and highly breatheable polyurethane and is fitted with a polyurethane gel insert in  the heel area to absorb vibrations and deaden impact. Its special design features differing thicknesses and respects the anatomy of the arch of the  foot, the forefoot and the heel, allowing correct distribution of body weight and offering a high level of comfort even after prolonged use of the boot.

"Soft Pad" Interior Padding:

The new inner padding is made from dual-component expanded polyurethane and shaped using a special molding process that prevents the material from deforming over time and gives it an anatomical “memory” that adapts to the shape of the ankle. The special shaping around the ankle and heel wraps the foot, preventing the bothersome undercutting effect of the boot. The feeling of comfort around the foot is enhanced by  the presence of a Lycra lining injected directly onto the padding.

Torsion Control System:

TCX - pioneers in anti-torsion systems applied to motorcycle footwear, presents the evolution of the international T.C.S. international patent, devised in 1999, to ensure natural movement of the foot and counteract excessive torsion of the ankle above natural levels. Today the system returns in a new garment that is more functional and aesthetically attractive due to the insertion of carbon fiber injected into the polyurethane structure. The purpose of this carbon fiber is to further reduce the weight of the boot, to increase the structural support of the system and to increase resistance to impact in the event of a fall. The Carbon frame version of the T.C.S. system is also enhanced with a new joint positioned at the top of the boot. This joint has been designed to increase flexibility at the rear of the boot and allow the leg to return rapidly to the initial driving position.

Metatarsal Control System:

The M.C.S system uses the same concept as T.C.S. and has been designed to control upward and downward bending of the metatarsal . This is achieved through two stopping points designed to prevent any lesions to the joint.

Additional Features:

  • Polyurethane shin plate with iron mesh air intakes
  • Polyurethane shift pad integrated in the sole
  • Replaceable high-resistant alloy toe, rear and ankle sliders
  • Polyurethane fixed calf slider
  • Anatomic mid sole with heel Shock Absorbing Foam

Top shelf protection, performance, and superb looks! I enjoy these boots very much. They offer lots of protection and look so good. At first I thought the air-bladder fit system was a gimmick, but I find that it works very well to not make the boot too tight or too loose. My only nit-pick of these boots is that you won't feel air rushing past your feet. Although, I've worn these on warm weather track days and all day canyon rides (85-95*F air temp) with zero discomfort. I was lucky enough to have these on during a medium speed low side crash on a very sharp corner. On the side I went down on the Ti heel slider and Ti toe slider glided along the pavement without catching, helping me not to tumble as I slid to a stop. I picked these boots up on sale for a true bargain considering the high end tech, protection, and looks. I definitely recommend these boots! May 27, 2015
Great boots! Bought these boots in closeout and i'm not disapointed! Very comfortable, fit is perfect! Thanks! May 25, 2015
Surprised.... went out of norm...i normally wear A-Stars, but with the sale I decided to try something new. From afar i've seen this boots and have always thought it was a great looking boot. After riding with them for a couple days, I'm surprised how comfortable they are. Definitely recommend the boots....wished mined were fully vented though. April 6, 2015
Good boots These were my first pair of riding boots and i like them. These look amazing and the protection seems to be very good. cons: These boots don't vent at all..this could be a pro depending on where you live but i live in Dubai and hence its a con to me. It isn't very easy to walk in these it could be due to my inexperience with such kind of boots but i have to walk like a robot with these on. March 23, 2015
Championship Winning Boot Its Instantly clear why so many MotoGP and Moto 2 riders are wearing these boots. The protection they offer is unparalleled, They are cozy, and look like a piece of artwork. Josh Hayes and Tito Rabat both won championships with them last season. March 9, 2015
Sturdy Boot with great fit, but.... ...don't expect the fancy old school pump up feature to work. Mine didn't but had no material impact on fit. These boots fit great and are of great quality. At $300 bucks, I found them to be great value. I like them better than the RS-1, YRMV. Revzilla customer service is unsurpassed. Buy with confidence. February 23, 2015
Great boots, fits large (like any eu brand). I normally wear size 8 shoes off the bike, got size 40 and it fits great, according to the chart I should got 41 so it means the boots fits large 1 size. It fits great like a glove, easily the most comfortable boots I ever wear. The first boots I got also has problem with inflation system on the right boot, it won't inflate, I've returned it and new ones are on their way. At currently sale price, I say it's great bang for the buck! August 31, 2014
Great boot for the money. Good solid boot. Fit is true to size for me (14). The boot feels very comfortable, very secure but not too tight. It feels great on and off the bike, Shifter hits on the pad on top of boot, soft material on inside of the boot to protect bike finish. The pump works but doesn't seem worth the effort, but it does slightly tighten the fit around the ankle area. I use it on track days and spirited road days. The looks are modern with out being to "transformerish". This is a closeout now, buy before it's too late. July 26, 2014

Theodore J: ATGATT right? I ride mostly twisty mountain roads, but I see a lot of loose gravel, fallen rock, morning dew, off-camber turns, and avoid a lot of cyclists. I don't commute to work or walk around after rides. I only need to stand up to get gas; so I figure I'll upgrade my protection from my TCX Jupiter Evo boots. The Jupiters are, amazing by the way. Philip W: I wear size 12 in most shoes and ordered the 46 Euro which fits great for the length of the boot. Where I have fit problems is having skinny ankles. Without race suit pants, even with the air chamber pumped up, there is a lot of play room around the shin/calf area. If you're wearing race pants tucked in, you should be fine.

Keep oil or a liquid lubricant handy. You'll have to oil the outer working joints of these boots like the wizard of oz tinman to keep from popping and clicking everywhere you walk. (Plastic chafing on plastic = friction points on the inner, outer and Achilles).

Inner ankle could have better protection IMO, the patented "toe bend" point is too far forward and a worthless selling point IMO no where near the natural curl of my toes. The front protection between the top of the foot and radius to the shin is pretty baggy. (It's one area that holds the air chambers for pumping up)

Overall, not a bad boot but I wouldn't buy the R-S2 again.

Bradley C: I am usally a 46 in most shoes, and was a 46 on alpinestars smx5, 45 alpinestars smx plus I'm 45, and I got 46 in the tcx rs2, although it is a bit big, once I pump up the air fit it's snug enough for me with no issues......... So yeah maybe 1/2 size smaller than what you normally would be Jul 2, 2014

Joe K: This is my first pair of street boots so i dont have much of a comparison but my work boots and everyday shoes are 11 and 11.5 so i got size 45 which is a perfect fit. Not overly tight but nice and snug in the feet. TCX followed my shoe size well. I hope this helps. Jul 1, 2014

Domingo C: I am a 10 in Alpinestar and the same for TCX. I found the TCX to have plenty of room in the toe ox as compared to Sidi. Sometimes with more room in the toe box a smaller-more precise fit is much more comfortable. Jul 1, 2014

Michael S: I'm a 9 in street shoes and tennis shoes and these are a tight 9 for length and somewhat wide on my narrow foot.
Hope this helps.

A shopper asked: My riding: commute to work daily on a sport bike, weekend rides, trackdays in spring and summer (advanced group). How much extra time would the motocross style buckles require on the ST's for on/off? Also, is the air venting adequate enough on the TCX? Comfort is a big issue, as well as ease of use. I've been a SIDI guy for the past 8 years, but I am willing to change brands if you feel the TCX's are a superior boot. Last thing, is sizing for TCX equivalent to SIDI? Thanks so much for your help. FarazS: TCX are definitely a good option, but personally i would recommend you should stick to SIDI ST Air. The boots is matchless in air venting. And the amount of adjustment is on a superior level.
Getting in and out of both boots is nearly same. But those camlock on SIDI will give you peace of mind. Also most parts are replaceable so no issues on this one.
Hope this will help.

247spiritualsoldier: Since I only have an experience with Sidi vortice(best boots in my opinion), I can't really tell you which brand boots with be the best choice for you, however, I've heard pretty good things about TCX R-S2 boots and there quality is somewhat top notch. I would say since you already have an experience with Sidi product, it wouldn't hurt to try something different. Dec 18, 2012

A S: I liked these a lot more than the SIDIS and thought that they offered more protection. The TCX seem like they offer better protection than the SIDI. I think they are more comfortable than the SIDI, they seem wider. I wear a size 7 1/2 women's show and went with a 39. Mar 9, 2014
