Performance that won't break the bank
For the last couple of years I've been wearing a 1-piece Vanson I bought used on craigslist for track duty. Quality suit no doubt but a bit crude & unfinished with iffy armor. The Spidi Reset is a step up in every area. I have a thin/athletic build, mostly torso with a shorter inseam, which means that other brands I've tried simply don't fit. For an off-the-rack suit, I was surprised how well the Spidi conformed to my body type. No sagging or excess leather anywhere. It looks pretty good too in stealth black/grey, with a couple of red accents for effect.
I ride an Aprilia RSV 1000 Factory. The ergos on this bike are committed to say the least. The Reset definitely has a race fit but with stretch panels throughout movement on the Aprilia is non-binding and seamless. With this Spidi suit I actually feel sort of comfortable on the RSV, which says a lot.
The armor is quality and for a back protector I use either a Spidi Level 2 unit from my textile jacket or a stand-alone Forcefield protector. Both work well. The adjustable knee armor is a great feature. Thumbs up.
The perforation allows adequate airflow but since I often ride in cool, foggy conditions, this isn't a huge selling point for me. With my trusty soft-shell vest, I can actually stay pretty warm when the temps go down.
My only complaint -- and it's a minor one -- is that the sleeves are maybe an inch or 1/2-inch too long, which causes some "bunching" with my gloves. I barely notice it when I'm riding and the neoprene at the end of the sleeves means everything stays comfortable.
Although I've only had my Reset suit for a couple of weeks now, I really can't comment yet on long-term reliability. Suffice to say that the stitching, seams, and zippers all appear well made and durable. Time will tell but for the moment I recommend the Spidi Reset for anyone who wants an excellent race suit that won't break the bank.

michael j b: after trying 3 suits this is the one that fit. I got good advice from your techs on the phone and this worked fine, Alpinestars suits were a disaster for sizing, way too small in the torso, short, too.Oct 30, 2014
