Great price, Good helmet
Lets start by saying this is my first full face helmet, so I have no other helmet to compare it to.

Once opened I immediately loved the style and design of the helmet. The only difference in what RevZilla displays and what you get is the way the visor attaches, not a big deal.

Air Flow: Not knowing what to expect I am happy with the overall performance of the vents. Two are top are difficult to find at first and the visor vent takes a little more muscle than I thought a piece of plastic could handle, but it started to loosen up after using it a few times. It is currently winter here, so I don't know if it will provide the air flow I want during the summer months, but for now it is great.

Visor: Seals well and does not distort the environment. The "visor lock" is very nimble and delicate, I broke it on my smoked visor within five minutes of trying to figure out what it was haha. I doubt very seriously that any of would reach speeds that would lift the visor anyhow (I've done 80 with not a glimpse of the visor moving).

Fastening: Ratchet strap design is very nice, difficult to use with thick winter gloves but that's to be expected.

Padding: At first it was pretty tight in there, after just a couple hundred miles it has broken in quite nicely but not so much that the helmet no longer fits. Very comfortable.

Size: Seems true to size. I was very nervous about ordering a helmet that I never tried on before but after measuring my head two or three times for good...measure....I found myself to fit in the large category (like my other helmets). Just like the video said it should fit most people.

Anti-fog: hahahahahahahaha...haha...haha. No it's really not that bad, My first minute or two with the helmet on I keep it cracked and that helps. Some times when I sit at a red light or long stop I'll crack it again. Once the visor fogs up it is pretty tedious to clear up unless you raise the visor and run at about 40 mph for a minute.

Sound: Some people said this helmet is loud, however, I'd have to disagree. Granted this is my first helmet so I don't have anything to compare it against besides my half. Wind noise isn't bad at 30 or 70, regardless of how the vents are set up. My bike sounds louder to me, but that's not a bad thing in my book!

All in all this is a great helmet for the price, and a good helmet overall. It doesn't have the features of a 400 dollar helmet, but it doesn't have the price of one either. If you are looking for a helmet that will make you question ever wearing a half helmet again, this is it. Don't know if I'll ever go back.

Great Value Helmet
After looking for at a lot of helmets I found this one and it couldn't have hit the nail more squarely on the head for what I was looking for in a helmet. A nice breathable and removable liner, a face shield that is anti-fog, anti-scratch, and optically correct (so much so that unless a bug hits it I forget it's there), a breath deflector, and a ratcheting chin strap. Plus it has a really nice ventilation system, chin skirt, and a shield that seals really nicely to help reduce wind noise and moisture. Also it's nice that you can do it all from put it on, work the vents, and take it off with gloved hands. I don't think you could find another helmet this feature rich for anywhere near as cheap. If you are looking for a quality helmet that won't cost a lot this is the one.

I love the helmet and style. But there is a lot of wind noise even when you close the vents.

Excellent from top to bottom!
I'm relatively new to the sport riding side of things. This was my first full face helmet purchase and I couldn't be happier. Great review, price, and service. I had questions about fitment since I've never really worn a full face and I didn't understand the intermediate oval terminology. I called and was helped immediately. The representative was very knowledgeable and quickly put my mind at ease about purchasing over the internet. Great product and website! Buy anything from this website and you won't be disappointed.

Great helmet at an affordable price
Prior to this helmet, I was using a Shoei RF1100. I initially bought this as a second helmet, but it has surpassed my expectations and is now my primary helmet.

The love the nose guard on this helmet. Unlike the Shoei, it actually prevents fogging on the visor and directs the air downward.

The airflow on this helmet is great. With the Shoei, air would be directed towards my eyes and would cause discomfort. I haven't noticed any discomfort at all with the SS1300.

The chin strap is one of the best features of this helmet. It's pretty much like a snowboarding strap. I can take on and off this helmet even with gloves on. I can put this helmet on in about 5 seconds, whereas the Shoei would take at least 10 seconds. It's a great feature that I'd like to see on other helmets as well.

The only possible downside to this helmet is the visor positions. I'm used to being able to crack open the visor a tad. This helmet only has two positions - halfway up, and completely up. Slightly annoying, but not a big deal.

The fit and comfort isn't on par with the top helmets like Arai and Shoei, but it's still quite comfortable and snug.

With it's awesome looks and affordable price, you can't go wrong with this helmet. I would definitely recommend this to anyone.

Great Value!
This year was helmet replacement time. I popped on down to my local dealer to check out what they had as fit is (in my opinion) THE most important factor when choosing a helmet.

They let me try out an Icon Airmada, which is a TOTALLY BA looking helmet. Unfortunately, it fit me horribly!

This helmet, however, fit me perfectly. Maybe Speed and Strength uses the same shape as HJC (which also fits me well)?

At any rate this helmet has a lot of desirable features. I LOVE the shield mounting system. I've had bad luck with spring dependent shield mechanisms failing. Not so with this. The "thumbscrews" are rock solid and there's no sliding parts to malfunction.

The ratcheting chin strap is a great feature, although it's positioned a bit off for my head shape and digs into my throat.

Noise level is noticeably quieter than my old helmet (HJC CL-16) but could probably be better. (I always wear earplugs.) Then again, how much more are you willing to spend for quiet?

Good looking helmet and good price
Moved to this helmet because I wanted a less bulky helmet than the Hawk helmet i started with. Got it in the OD/Matte green which no longer seems to be available, and absolutely love it. Switching visors is extremely easy with the lock n load system, and the clear visor is awesome - as is the dark smoke visor that I bought afterwards. Operating the vents with gloves is easy, as is tightening and releasing the chin strap.

Great product
I bought this helmet a while back, and I love the feel of it. Fits my head beautifully. Air flow is good, visor doesn't fog up, and It doesn't weigh heavy on my head. I would recommend this to anyone riding. Has a great style, and feel to it. Defiantly a good buy.

I love this helmet it gives me a great line of vision for those people who pull out in front of you cause you don't know how to drive, I wore this for my motorcycle safety course and then for the last 2 months riding my own bike and I love it. If your looking for a good helmet that has all the approvals this would be a great helmet.
Nicholas G on Jul 10, 2014
Read the reviews watch the video over of the product and think this is what I'd like in a helmet. Though I may not know for sure until it arrives for fitting since it was stated it better fits a normal sized head and I'm sure where I stand on that. However I will give it a try and will keep in mind that I have to break it in and shouldn't expect a perfect fit.

I have a 23 1/2 size head, normally use 7 5/8 size hats and use a HJC size Large helmet and I would say I'm more of an round head medium to small front to back wider side to side. Going by chart for his helmet I would pick Large but people say it runs small so should I go XL? Thanks for the help
Eric G on Mar 16, 2014
BEST ANSWER: I have a a perfect 22" round head, not oval shape. I purchased a medium, and I tend to purchase on the larger size. The fit was too loose for safety and comfort. I ordered a small, and they sent it so I could compare the two. The small was a bit tight to put on, but once it was on it was snug, not tight.

Order the large because the padding will compress somewhat, as with any helmet padding. When it does, it will fit to your head and your head alone, and kind of become a "custom" fit.

If you get the large and find it to be different, please let me know. Thanks!
my head is exactly 22 should i go for a small or a medium?
devin c on Sep 2, 2015
BEST ANSWER: I would go for a large if your still looking into the ss1300 it does run a tad small I'm a 23 n have a large and it is pretty snug
is the lettering on the matte helmet light reflective?
A C on Mar 30, 2016
What replacement visor will fit the ss1300? I don't see any on the site specifically for it..
A C on Mar 25, 2016
Does this helmet have the "dual visor"(built in sunglasses)?
A shopper on Jul 5, 2014
BEST ANSWER: No, this helmet doesn't have the dual visor feature. You can get different visors (colors) like clear, smoke (like in the picture), and mirrored. Hope this helps.
