great helmet for the right price this is the first helmet i bought where i really have no complaints over. This helmet offers great style and fits comfortably on those longer rides. Airflow is great, my head doesn't sweat on those hot days (until i stop moving). probably my favorite thing about this helmet however is the quick strap, easy to put your helmet on and take it off with your gloves still on. This helmet is well worth the money. I am very pleased with this product. September 11, 2014
Good Inexpensive helmet Bought two of these a few years ago, a large and a medium. I wear a 7 1/4 size fitted cap. The large was a little to roomie and the medium was rather tight (maybe I just have a weird head). After wearing the medium enough I did break it in, however I wish it was a little bit looser. The chin strap is great and easy to use and adjust. The inside of the helmet seems to be made of quality material and is comfortable. Also the helmet looks awesome. The air vents are terrible. I don't think the top two do anything, and the chin piece is OK. That is probably my least favorite thing about this helmet. I ride in NC and on hot days the helmet does not keep me cool. The face shield system is OK. It can be annoying to take off the shield because it does occasionally get stuck. I did a low side going about 45mph and I hit the ground face first. I had a mild concussion after the accident but this guy did save my life. It did not crack the frame of the helmet or even the lens, I was impressed. Over all I would say I am happy with this helmet for what I paid (i think around $150) if I had paid the full retail price I might have been more upset. Cheers August 29, 2014
Chose it over much "better" helmet Picked up a Scorpion EXO-500 with all the bells and whistles, but the styling was just too cool on this one not to pass up, so I ordered it as well thinking I would have to return it once I got a chance to try it on and compare features. This helmet was way more comfy, the head-shape fit me much better, I loved the chin-strap, and the styling was just *awesome* and didn't make me look like a bobble-head for once. The EXO-500 had the drop-down visor that this didn't and a cool air-fit system, but between the two I preferred the Speed and Strength, so I returned the EXO-500. September 23, 2014
Good for the price Maybe I'm too picky or maybe I was expecting too much, either way my review for this helmet is much more negative than other reviews. Lets start with the pros: It's affordable, meets DOT and ECE standards, good visibility, doesn't feel heavy, has a chin curtain, has a nice comfortable chin strap, has a breath deflector, and the ear cut out prevents the helmet from crushing your ears. The shield is easy to remove/replace but not as easy as some of the other helmets which I've tried, it's a little too clumsy. Not something you want to be messing with while on the go with gloves on. The downside: The product description says that the shield is anti-fog. When I received the helmet I went to ride, and when I put on the helmet I couldn't see at all. At first I thought it was gunk from the sticker that was on the outside of it. I wiped down the outside and tried again. Still blurry. I then realized that there was goo covering the entire shield on the inside. If this is their anti-fog formula it's a fail. Perhaps the shield would never fog up but the goo was so thick that I couldn't see anything at all. After cleaning it (dish soap then a light coat of shaving cream) it still fogs up on humid nights at the red lights, but clears up quick when I crack it open. Also this helmet is loud and starts whistling above 50 mph. Not a big deal since I wear ear plugs but for those of you who don't, this is a loud helmet. As for style it looks like in the photos but is bulkier than I expected. Not a compact helmet. I'm guessing to pass DOT and ECE requirements they had to put in quite a bit of padding. Considering the price I can't complain too much, and I'm guessing I'll be thankful for all that padding when I go down. Lastly and on a smaller note, the cut out at the ear (mentioned above) for an aftermarket com system is good for those who use com systems and is good because it doesn't crush your ear. However the unintended side effect is it ends up touching slightly behind your ear which is very uncomfortable. Luckily once you start driving the vibrations numb it out so you forget about it real quick. August 7, 2014
great helmet great price I got this helmet for around 150 on a close out because there replacing it with the ss1600 witch has a rounder shape for fit I think is a mistake to stop making this helmet because the ss1400 is the right shape but doesn't have as many features and the ss1600 doesn't fit everybody but who knows I don't make the helmets what do I know. All in all pay full price get it on a closeout doesn't matter its a bad butt helmet September 19, 2014
High-end features at a good price point. I bought this helmet to replace a Shark Evoline 3 that I stopped trusting after it popped open in a tip over. It fit a little tight at first and then it kinda stretched(compressed) after a few long rides. Pros: Great features for the money Quality Materials Looks good DVD is always awesome! Cons: It is a little loud, but doesn't whistle. The anti-fog is iffy My beard gets stuck in the pump Its a great helmet for the price, I wish I had gotten this instead of the Shark. Matte green helmet Helmets a great fit! I love the style and color of it. Fitted great on my head and is very comfortable. September 1, 2014
Hey Bono! I found what I was looking for. I needed a helmet with better airflow and less noise, this helmet is what I was looking for. The removable nose piece and chain guard are easily removed and stowed for hot day rides. The air flow is refreshingly cool. And the extra shaded visor helps keep temperatures in the helmet down. Unlike my old helmet, I am unwilling to refer to this as a "bucket." July 11, 2014

RevZilla Store asked: Why did you choose this?
Nicholas G: I love this helmet it gives me a great line of vision for those people who pull out in front of you cause you don't know how to drive, I wore this for my motorcycle safety course and then for the last 2 months riding my own bike and I love it. If your looking for a good helmet that has all the approvals this would be a great helmet. Jul 10, 2014
Andrew W: Read the reviews watch the video over of the product and think this is what I'd like in a helmet. Though I may not know for sure until it arrives for fitting since it was stated it better fits a normal sized head and I'm sure where I stand on that. However I will give it a try and will keep in mind that I have to break it in and shouldn't expect a perfect fit. May 23, 2014
Gregory W: I am in the Army. I needed a plain matte black helmet to ride to work in while in uniform. May 15, 2014
Daniel N: I chose this helmet because I wanted a plain helmet, but I also wanted it to look sick at the same time and this helmet fit both of my wants May 9, 2014

Eric G asked: I have a 23 1/2 size head, normally use 7 5/8 size hats and use a HJC size Large helmet and I would say I'm more of an round head medium to small front to back wider side to side. Going by chart for his helmet I would pick Large but people say it runs small so should I go XL? Thanks for the help Mar 16, 2014

Neil S: I have a a perfect 22" round head, not oval shape. I purchased a medium, and I tend to purchase on the larger size. The fit was too loose for safety and comfort. I ordered a small, and they sent it so I could compare the two. The small was a bit tight to put on, but once it was on it was snug, not tight.

Order the large because the padding will compress somewhat, as with any helmet padding. When it does, it will fit to your head and your head alone, and kind of become a "custom" fit.

If you get the large and find it to be different, please let me know. Thanks!

Eric G: Thanks for the advice I will try the large first and let you know on the fit. Better to be on the snug side than the loose side. Mar 16, 2014
Curtis T: I can't speak to the sizing of HJC but I am a Medium and wear about the same size ball cap last time I bought a fitted one. but I would say I am more of an oval shaped head than round hope this helps Mar 16, 2014

A shopper asked: Does this helmet have the "dual visor"(built in sunglasses)? Jul 5, 2014
Answer this · Send to friends Good question? Yes (0) No (1)
Chaz B: No, this helmet doesn't have the dual visor feature. You can get different visors (colors) like clear, smoke (like in the picture), and mirrored. Hope this helps. Jul 6, 2014

Amanda C: No. You will need to buy the darker visor and swap out the clear visor the helmet comes with. Jul 5, 2014
