Maybe I Got A Bad One...
I picked up a dark smoke shield from my local dealer. Literally the second time I washed it (dish soap, fingers only) the anti-fog coating on the inside started hazing over and coming off. Maybe I got a bad one (dealer is ordering me a new one) but I find it unacceptable for a coating to delaminate after only two gentle washes.

makes the. black S&S Live by the sword helmet look badass
This faceshield was a hassle to put on but once you get it on it looks amazing. The chrome definitely makes the helmet look better.

Downfalls to Speed and Strength
Changing the face shield on the SS1300 is like arm wrestling. You're not sure if you are going to win, but after some serious time and pulling out some hair, you will find that it all comes together. I got very frustrated as I lined up one side, but couldn't get the other. Last but not least, I am disappointed that S&S does not make a Gold shield. (Icon, you win this round for style and ease of use).

Great for night and day
Sleek appearance and much easier to see at night than a dark smoke face shield. Installation was a little frustrating, though.

James A:on the side of the helmet there is a lock it is round. In the middle of that there Iis a red slide. On one side of it it has a c, on the other side an o. For closed and open. Slide the red bar to the o and then turn the locking mechanism down. When you are done and have everything back together slide the red bar back to c. Repeat for the other side of the helmet. Heidi M:On the sides there are red pieces, with an O and a C , make sure it's going towards the O. Turn the red pieces and it should "unlock" allowing you to take off the shield. When you put these side pieces back in you have to push them in first and the turn the entire piece. Hope this helps! It will take a couple tries, post back here if you need anymore help!Aug 26, 2013
Devin K:On the side of the helmet there are two round fasteners. First, slide the red locking mechanism to "O". Next, turn the fastener. Finally, pull the fastener out. Once both sides are removed, the face shield will pop off.Aug 26, 2013
