Fits,Performes, and looks great I got digital camp to match the urge overkill DS helmet, recieved it in the mail within 24hrs! (awesome service revzilla) Immediately I was impressed with the look/style of the jacket, And quality of build is a 5 star. stitching seems sturdy, zippers are smooth and easy to use, pockets are plenty deep. I can easily fit my gloves and hands in the front pockets. The chest and arm pockets are very convenient too and also waterproof. The rear pocket extends all through the lower back of the jacket, I'm not sure what I'll ever need that much storage for, but i'll be thankful when I do end up using it. Material is legit waterproof, I tested with a garden hose for several minutes and stayed totally dry inside. I ride supermoto 30 miles round trip in South/Cen Texas where its normally a hot temperatures. This jacked did not breath as well as I had hoped, But it is expected being waterproof material. The vents however do flow enough air to cool the inner portion of the jacket on the highway or at higher speeds, But the location of the front vents are just infront of the shoulder. For me this was a problem at first being I wear a back pack and airflow was blocked. But no problem with no backpack. Size is great. I was right in the middle of being a size large according to size chart, However I went with an XL so I may use this jacket in the winter and bundle up under neath. I was nervous ordering a size larger than needed, but the fit is still good. It fits like a casual winter/snowboarding jacket. I was most impressed with the fitment of the armor. The elbow and shoulder pads are hardly noticed. In previous jackets i've owned, the armor was bulky and shifted around the areas it was supposed to cover, but SS got it right with this one. They feel slim, and fit in impact areas without notice or annoyance. The spine protector as well is not bulky and blends with the jacket hardly noticed. A big plus for me. I cant stand turtle shell looking jackets. All in all, i'm very happy with the jacket. I plan to wear it 4 seasons riding, hunting, snow boardng, and still feel comfortable enough in it for casual outings. June 11, 2014
Commuter? Buy this jacket! During the summer I primarily ride my motorcycle to work and home, and any time in between that I can squeeze in. I wanted a jacket that was ready for anything. The Urge Overkill is it. It's still early season in Alaska (May), and I wanted a jacket that could stretch from now until fall (September). I had a heck of a time finding something that was waterproof, had a removable liner, and was still decent looking. So far, I have had the jacket in weather ranging from 70 degrees, all the way down to 34 degrees; at 70, a t-shirt and liner in felt comfortable. At 34, a light hoody on felt pretty good, as the jacket does a great job of blocking wind when the ventilation is all closed up. The jacket fits good; I am 5'10", 175 lbs, 42" chest, and size Medium fits well. If you have long arms, bump up to a large, the sleeves will likely be too short. Lots of pockets to stash things, functionality is great. May 11, 2014
Great more casual jacket I wanted a jacket that is more casual but had some protection. This jacket fits and looks great. April 28, 2014
Good jacket for the price The overkill jacket seems to be a quality jacket as it is holding up well to date. It is comfomfortable and stylish and, although I hope I never find out, seems to be rugged and durable in the event of contact with the road. For a lower level, affordable product, I would recommend it to anyone. February 27, 2014
Perfect wet weather jacket I purchased this jacket(in camo) a couple of weeks ago. I ride year round and I live in the Seattle area so we see lots of moisture. First, this jacket is warm even without the liner. I usually wear multiple layers so the liner will probably never get used. I am 6', 202lbs with long arms and the XL fit like a glove. There are lots of adjustments and vents and it sheds water better than any other jacket I own. I ride a WR250X and this jacket is perfect for the riding position. I would buy another of these without hesitation. February 7, 2014
Good bang for the buck I purchased this jacket and pant combo to use on my KLR 650 this winter in Vancouver. I wanted a waterproof suit that didnt have those annoying liners that repelled water while the main unit soaked completely. I tested it out this weekend on a heavy rain storm (50+mm) on the Sea to Sky highway. The jacket was excellent, kept me dry with the exception of the cuffs which I will velcro shut more carefully next time. For the price Im completely satisfied. September 30, 2013
Waterproof and warm I spent 4 hours riding today in some of the heaviest rain Ive seen (I live in Seattle). When I finished, my pants were completely saturated, but my upper body was warm and dry. Definitely recommended. September 29, 2013

Lorin P: I like the look and functionality, it got good reviews. May 15, 2014

A shopper asked: How well is the ventilation of this jacket? I live in Houston, TX and I'm looking at it for the daily afternoon showers during the summer, but don't want to overheat riding in 95F+ temperatures. Jul 10, 2014

Zach V: I'm around San Antonio Texas, wear it every day on my supermoto to work. Ventilation is not the best, but it's a trade off for ha ing waterproof. If you wear a back pack the straps might block the front vents so keep that in mind. Don't get me wrong, it flows air, but it's definitely not built around a "cool" jacket standpoint. Jul 10, 2014

Carlos O: I will say that you will overheat, with this jacket at those temperatures. Jul 10, 2014

Randy N: I've been using this jacket as my primary riding jacket for a little less than a year. The majority of my riding is in the humid / warmer / summer months here in Pittsburgh, PA. My overall experience with this jacket has been good. Ventilation works well enough when moving although it does get a bit clammy on my stop & go commute in and around the city. It is my understanding that the removable grey / silver lining that is included with the jacket is actually intended to be a moisture wicking / cooling liner. I do wear the jacket with the liner in the warmer months but I'm not entirely convinced of it's effectiveness. If it were in my budget I would buy a more well ventilated jacket for warmer / summer riding and reserve this jacket for cooler / spring & fall riding. Jul 11, 2014

Stephen T: I have the camo version.
The jacket has vent zips front and back but the material is otherwise windproof and impermeable to water.

More a colder weather jacket (65'ish and lower).
It does an excellent job of keeping me comfortable to near freezing (especially with a heated vest when temps get very low).

I don't wear it in summer months as I'd think it would be hot and uncomfortable. It's not a mesh jacket. I wear a TecNic mesh jacket in temps of 65 and up.
95F? - phew! I don't think you'll be happy at that temp.

Maybe get a mesh jacket with a removable rain liner?
Or carry something like a Frog Togs easy-on/off outer to beat the showers?

Mike P: The ventilation isn't too bad. Once you take the liner out its a pretty lightweight and airy jacket. It definitely breathes better than my dainese leather jacket. As far as rain goes, anything I've worn under my jacket has stayed dry when I reached my destination. Hope this helps. Jul 11, 2014

aqueel s: I ride in Atlanta with this jacket weekly. It has long vertical zipper vents in front and back that work decent. But you will sweat on your shirt. The hood zipper attachment is visible on the collar when you remove the hood. Jul 11, 2014

hamish c asked: I am looking for a jacket to fit over the top of my race leathers for cold weather riding, will the "urge overkill" fit over a set of leathers? Oct 27, 2014
Answer this · Send to friends Good question? Yes (0) No (0)
Scott W: I am 5' 9'' and 150 lbs and have the men's size Small. It fits perfectly and has room for a light layer underneath. I normally wear a 32" sleeve and the sleeves fit perfectly. I followed the sizing chart provided by Speed and Strength and it seems right on the money. If I were buying to fit over racing leathers, I would take sizing measurements with the leathers on, use the sizing chart for those numbers, and give it a shot. If you have armor on your leathers, you could remove the jacket armor and gain some room. I have used the jacket in rain, and so far it is totally waterproof. Oct 27, 2014

A shopper asked: How abrasion resistant is the AR600 fabric Speed and Strength use in these jackets? I can't find any info on it online except for a really general answer about it having a special coating which increases its abrasion resistance to some degree. Oct 11, 2014

Tom G: I have not test first hand. But if I ever do Ill let you know.
But so far its a good jacket.

A shopper asked: How does this jacket do in colder weather riding? I live in the Southeast US and it doesn't get really cold but I'm thinking 40s and 50s. Jul 28, 2014
Answer this · Send to friends Good question? Yes (0) No (0)
Nathan J: I wear a polar fleece under it during the winter and I've ridden all the way down to 18 degrees F. I was cold but certainly not unbearable. 40-50s will be no problem. During the summer I ride with just a tee shirt and the vents open and I've been comfortable all the way up to 95. Jul 28, 2014
