Speed and Strength SS1300 Solid Speed Helmet
Good Inexpensive helmet
Bought two of these a few years ago, a large and a medium.
I wear a 7 1/4 size fitted cap. The large was a little to roomie and the medium was rather tight (maybe I just have a weird head). After wearing the medium enough I did break it in, however I wish it was a little bit looser.
The chin strap is great and easy to use and adjust. The inside of the helmet seems to be made of quality material and is comfortable. Also the helmet looks awesome.
The air vents are terrible. I don't think the top two do anything, and the chin piece is OK. That is probably my least favorite thing about this helmet. I ride in NC and on hot days the helmet does not keep me cool.
The face shield system is OK. It can be annoying to take off the shield because it does occasionally get stuck.
I did a low side going about 45mph and I hit the ground face first. I had a mild concussion after the accident but this guy did save my life. It did not crack the frame of the helmet or even the lens, I was impressed.
Over all I would say I am happy with this helmet for what I paid (i think around $150) if I had paid the full retail price I might have been more upset.

great helmet for the money
I LOVE the quick release chin strap. It works great. Only things I could say about this helmet is its slightly loud and the finish is kinda easy to scratch or mark.

Good for the price
Maybe I'm too picky or maybe I was expecting too much, either way my review for this helmet is much more negative than other reviews.
Lets start with the pros:
It's affordable, meets DOT and ECE standards, good visibility, doesn't feel heavy, has a chin curtain, has a nice comfortable chin strap, has a breath deflector, and the ear cut out prevents the helmet from crushing your ears.
The shield is easy to remove/replace but not as easy as some of the other helmets which I've tried, it's a little too clumsy. Not something you want to be messing with while on the go with gloves on.
The product description says that the shield is anti-fog. When I received the helmet I went to ride, and when I put on the helmet I couldn't see at all. At first I thought it was gunk from the sticker that was on the outside of it. I wiped down the outside and tried again. Still blurry. I then realized that there was goo covering the entire shield on the inside. If this is their anti-fog formula it's a fail. Perhaps the shield would never fog up but the goo was so thick that I couldn't see anything at all. After cleaning it (dish soap then a light coat of shaving cream) it still fogs up on humid nights at the red lights, but clears up quick when I crack it open.
Also this helmet is loud and starts whistling above 50 mph. Not a big deal since I wear ear plugs but for those of you who don't, this is a loud helmet.
As for style it looks like in the photos but is bulkier than I expected. Not a compact helmet. I'm guessing to pass DOT and ECE requirements they had to put in quite a bit of padding. Considering the price I can't complain too much, and I'm guessing I'll be thankful for all that padding when I go down.
Lastly and on a smaller note, the cut out at the ear (mentioned above) for an aftermarket com system is good for those who use com systems and is good because it doesn't crush your ear. However the unintended side effect is it ends up touching slightly behind your ear which is very uncomfortable. Luckily once you start driving the vibrations numb it out so you forget about it real quick.

great helmet for the price
I've had about ten helmets and only 1 was better than this one but it cost $650 so it's a great helmet

Awesome helmet with great features!
When I first received the helmet I thought I had picked the wrong size (medium). I was going to return it the next day for a larger size. Glad I didn't. You will have to have break in the helmet - wear it often, even when you're not riding because the padding will be stiff. While breaking it in, you will experience (depending on head shape) pressure in the temple and cheek area. It was tight enough to where I did not need to use the air pump feature.
One feature I did use was the DVD drop down tinted visor. At the time I only used this, because I didn't have sunglasses that I could comfortably wear with my helmet. Now, depending on your riding style will depend on if you use the DVD feature. I believe this helmet is meant for street riders who ride hunched over with eyes turned slightly upward. If you ride a crusier and ride sitting up, you will be dissapointed. If your sitting up and looking straight ahead, the DVD comes down just far enough to be a distraction and obscure your vision. However, there is a solution for about $30 more. I recently purchased the tinted (smoked) replacement visor, and I LOVE IT! Highly recommend it. I no longer need the drop down DVD. I recently had PRK (similiar to Lasik) over a month ago, and it's perfect.
In regards to looks, the helmet is nice! I gave it 4 stars, but with the added smoked visor I would give it a 5. Oh, the quick release chin strap feature...AWESOME! It's easy use with gloves.

Muy buen casco
Es un buen casco,el único inconveniente que yo pude ver es la pobre ventilación que tiene, una vez abriendo la bisera se soluciona el problema o ya sea rodando a una velocidad considerable aumenta el flujo de ventilación.

This helmet is beautifully stylish, but definitely on the noisy side.

First one I got had a broken vent on the top. I sent it back and Revzilla sent a new one no problem. At first it is snug but the pads do break in. When moving the helmet has enough airflow to keep you cool. the visor is super easy to change when I switch from my smoked to clear visor for night riding. The visor lock is a cool addition. I rode through a tropical storm and I can say with certainty that it does stay fog free. The wind noise is above average but overall is a pretty great helmet for the price.
