Just what I was looking for It was a toss up between the lunatic and the battlescare by Stryker. The lunatic fits very well but the only issue I have is the air flow. While it isn't the greatest it still has enough air flow to keep you comfortable. The other reason I bought this is because of the light. When you're riding you may not need it because you have your bike lights but, when standing next to my bike or sitting on it getting ready to start it drivers can see me clearly and watch out for me. Aggressive styling, aggravating quality This thing looks awesome. The styling is very aggressive and the armor is thick and sturdy. You feel like your core is well protected with this on. It's a hefty piece of kit for sure. However, there are quality issues all around. The front and back area surrounding the S&S logos are were very rough. Mine had pitting in the chest, and on the spine it's bubbly and wavy. The softer molded pads around the jacket that add some 3d texture and style were also randomly dented. Imagine squeezing a piece of foam, but once you let go it not returning back to it's original shape. The LED malfuntions...sometimes it twitches on/off. Sometimes it doesn't turn on. Sometimes it works perfect. It leads me to believe the wiring is fragile and has a weak contact somewhere. The back protector seems to be glued on. You can see the residue from the glue surrounding the shell. The bottom part of it was already peeling up from the vest. If S&S had this made with higher quality it would have been a keeper. But as it is, I returned it. It just felt like it would fall apart in a few weeks and the blemishes everywhere doesn't help either. July 24, 2015
Great but not sure how it would hold up in a crash. Bought this vest mainly for summer use to help beat some of the Kansas heat and while i love the design and fit, i cant say it would do a bit of good in a lowside incident or any other crash for that matter. LEDs in the back also arent worth the trouble. Had the vest 3 months and the lights have already burnt out. No bad review for Revzilla, Speed and Strength should have assembled a better product. July 6, 2015
good with couple issues The vest is great. It looks great it feels great and have gotten tons of compliments. Issues tho are, at speads over 75 the waste straps can get ripped open by the wind. Second issues is my wife said at night driving behind me the led lights aren't as visible as I had hoped. Besides that it's a great product. May 4, 2015
Wow Speed and strength out did them selves This vest beats all competition. Great fit and comfort all LEDs shine bright! Great body protection. I ride with it everyday! April 27, 2015
Great vest This vest is pretty cool. It is really thick so I feel comfortable that it will offer pretty good protection. Only thing I have against it is the back lights. They look great and all but the burn out so fast. I had a vest for 4 months and some of the lights went out. I got a new vest from the manufacturer and after about another 7 months all of the lights completely went out. Overall it is a great vest and it has a large margin for adjust ability. January 9, 2015
Slightly Disappointed The LED lights on the back do not line up with the holes and are not accessible for adjustment or repairs in any way. You'd be better off with wrapping Christmas lights around your shoulders, really. It is a nice touch though. The controller for the lights is on the inside of the shoulder pad, which can be very uncomfortable. Size is a bit large for me, but everything is for little 36 inch chest 120 lb me. Overall looks sharp, really doubt it would help too much in an accident though. All of the armor is mediocre foam which is easily damaged and scratched. Think of a denser block of styrofoam. The one I got came with some marks in the armor and only 2 properly aligned LED lights. The price is not worth the quality, $50~80 would be more reasonable instead of $130. Perfect for the show-off street rider or stunt performer though. December 13, 2014

Ty S asked: im 6'3 225 i was wondering is i should get the 2XL? A lot of gear is short on me and barley covers my belly button. Apr 12, 2015
Answer this · Send to friends Good question? Yes (0) No (0)
Thomas N: I'm not to sure what size you should get but this particular item doesn't cover your belly button it's just a chest protector in the front so it stops right under your chest your more likely getting it for the back protection and the light up part but all four sides are adjustable both shoulder and rib straps so it should fit whatever size you normally wear Apr 12, 2015
Reply to Thomas Good answer? Yes (0) No (0)
Antares Z: This vest isn't meant to cover up to the belly button. I'm rather short, 5 7' and a size medium stops about half way between my sternum and my belly button. I think it's about the intended fit. Apr 13, 2015
Reply to Antares Good answer? Yes (0) No (0)
winston m: I would go with 3XL to be safe. You can adjust the Shoulder straps to raise it or lower the front. So I recommend a 3XL to be safe. Apr 13, 2015

A shopper asked: Has anyone tried wearing a backpack over this vest?how was your experience? Jan 25, 2015
Answer this · Send to friends Good question? Yes (0) No (0)
Bailey K: It's alright and it works fine but I would highly suggest going with the icon striker vest for a few extra $ .... I have both and stopped wearing the speed and strength and bought the icon vest, it is much better less bulky on the straps over the shoulders and the icon vest does NOT Look like a ninja turtle vest ... Overall I would go with the icon Stryker vest any day, especially because I own both. Jan 28, 2015
Reply to Bailey Good answer? Yes (0) No (0)
Brian S: Yes, and it works fine no issues. The vest is snug against your body and allows for a backpack with no issues. I right with this and a pack on all the time. Jan 25, 2015

Nathan S: I have worn a backpack with this. It is uncomfortable to say the least. The back protection is just big enough to make it awkward. Jan 25, 2015

Brian I: I have worn a backpack over this vest.......it isn't the most comfortable.....but doable. I don't like wearing backpacks to begin with. But if the need arises it does sit on the back hump pretty square. Mar 4, 2015
Reply to Brian Good answer? Yes (0) No (0)
Wesley O: I have not tried wearing a backpack but it does stick out a little bit. You can probably do it but may be more comfortable with the stryker vest if wearing a backpack. Jan 25, 2015
Reply to Wesley Good answer? Yes (0) No (0)
jose n: You can, if you must, however is not very comfortable and I wouldn't recommend it. Vest is very comfortable by itself. 8/10 Jan 25, 2015

Josh A asked: This seems like it would come off easily in a slide. How secure do you feel the velcro is when not worn under a jacket? Jan 22, 2015
Answer this · Send to friends Good question? Yes (0) No (0)
Thomas N: The Velcro is pretty solid and its a little bulky to go under a jacket if I was you I'd put in over the jacket and besides the back lights up why hide it Jan 22, 2015
Reply to Thomas Good answer? Yes (0) No (0)
Vladimir K: It's not very comfortable to wear it under a jacket. That thing suits to stunters more. It's well decorated by blinking red lights from behind. Jan 22, 2015

Miguel D asked: I really like the light up feature and I think it would go great with my Gmax GM78 helmet as the back of that has a red LED with the same function. It also matches my bike a lot more than the other vest I was considering which is the Icon Stryker Battlescar Vest. I really like the way it looks too even though it doesn't match my bike or helmet. I want a vest so that i can wear under and over my non moto-jackets and i feel like the stryker just offers more protection. But the black I could wear over, look cooler AND protect parts of my jackets? idk I really wamt both but don't need both. Any suggestions, revzilla community?! Sep 24, 2014

chris c: Well I am not sure on the Stryker, but the lights look good on the speed and strength vest, the only thing I have issue with is that the velcro piece that connects to the elastic of the vest is tearing a little right at the top. That is the only complaint. Oct 7, 2014

T.L. S: I have both the stryker and the lunatic fringe vests. i like them both leaning more towards the LF vest and the LEDs are a plus. As far as the vest matching your bike/helmet you can always get the vest spray painted/airbrushed. hope this helps... Oct 7, 2014
