Great Boot for the Price
When it comes to bike gear, you get what you pay for. That being said, for the cost of this boot, your money goes a long way. You might not get all the bells and whistles you would with a boot twice this price, but you get a good amount of protection, style, and function out of it. I'm new to riding and haven't had any issues with this boot during shifts. (A couple people in my MSF course had this boot too!) Overall, it's a solid boot.

As far as the fit, I usually wear a size 12 shoe. I went with the size 11 and it fits perfectly with a little bit of wiggle room for my toes.

Excellent boot for the price.
They offer the protection I was looking for for city riding. Shift guard and strap to keep laces in are nice too.

I usually wear 11.5-12.0 depending on the brand, and prefer a wider fit. I ordered these in an 11 and they are perfect.

Comfortable on the bike and walking around, although I wouldn't want to spend all day in them.

Perforations/air holes are awesome; you get nice air flow that keeps your feet from from getting too hot.

cool boot
Ordered this because I wanted a motorcycle boot that didn't look like I was a motorcycle racer. The all black is sleak. These are pretty comfortable and have a nice wide base that is exactly what my feet need. It does fit larger. I ordered a 12 and I am ussually a 12.5-13 in other shoes, but this boot has a little room to spare by my toes. Time will tell how durable they are, but they seem like they'll hold up well! Good bang for the buck:)

Best boot ive riden in to date.
These boots are great. Very comfortable riding and almost feels like a sneaker when walking. I had an unfortunate low speed wipe on the street. My foot was really bruised bad but the boot shows no signs of the accident. Tough as they come, wish my foot was.
Too bulky for my sport bike, but great on my cruisers.

I dropped my bike and the boot did its job
I have one season with this pair and I like the styling and comfort. For me its holding to gather nicely. Early in the season I had a small miss hap and dropped my bike the bike landed on my foot. If I had not had these boots I might have broken my foot. So for that reason alone i would buy this boot again.

Everything I was looking for in a boot!
I spent several months looking for a new set of boots to both ride in, and wear at the destination. After buying several other types and styles and being disappointed… I did more research by reading many reviews here at RevZilla and elsewhere, and I decided to try out the S&S Hard Knock boots.

Like others have mentioned, the size does run a bit big, but not by that much. I have a wide foot and wear a typical US 8.5 size. I order a size 8.0 and at first, it was a bit snug. I wore the boots non-stop for about a week to try and break them in. This worked out really nicely as they stretched out and broke in to become one of the most comfortable boots I've ever owned.

I've pushed the soles in both wet and dry riding, and they haven’t slipped yet, holding on even some of the oiliest roadways where my other boots have slipped in the past. The laces and buckle hold the foot nicely inside. Others have mentioned the plastic buckle, but I see the buckle lasting longer than the boot’s sole in most circumstances.

Airflow is fairly minimal compare to other boots I've had, but these boots also feel A LOT more solid than some of the others I've owned – including both slip-ons and laced. So in all fairness, I would rather have a warm protected foot, than wear a boot that could breathe and come off.

Needless to say, after months of searching, I've found my new boot. I've very happy with these, and when they wear out, I’ll be looking to get another pair.

Great boot and comfortable
First up ride for these boots was a 5 day ride through Northern Luzon in the Philippines and they performed greatly. The clips for the strap not a problem and easy to get on and off, the boots provided excellent stability on the ankles. Wouldn't hesitate in recommending these boots and the style is ok too.

Exactly as advertised!
I'm always nervous ordering online, but one thing I've learned about Revzilla is that you CAN trust Anthony's reviews! The boots are exactly as advertised. They fit like slippers out of the box, and they look just like the promo picture. The previous reviews are correct. I am a perfect size 10 and can buy any size 10 shoe sight unseen and it fits. These shoes DO fit a little large. I'm pretty sure I could have fit perfectly in a 9.5. The other reviews are spot-on when they suggest throwing in a gel insole - they do lack comfort in that one area with little padding under your foot. However, once the insole was in, and my ortho inserts, they fit like a pair of comfy old slippers right out of the box. Highly recommended!

Runs pretty large
I normally wear an 11.5. At the prompting of Customer Service, ordered these in a 12 (they only come in whole sizes). The 12 fits more like a 12.5 or maybe even 13. I had at least 3/4" extra room. They are also a bit wider than I'd like, but I have narrower feet. Exchanging for an 11, I'll check back in after receiving them for a full review.

Awesome boots ! I ride a HD fat bob and these are by far great. Very comfortable and really good protection. The only bad thing is after a while you will need to get insoles but other than that perfect boot.

These boots look great with a price tag that matches. I wanted boots but I didnt want to drop 300+ on my first motorcycle boots. These had better ratings than the Joe Rockets. Couldn't explain really, but I preferred these over the Joe Rockets as well.

I picked the Speed and Strength Hard Knock Life boots because I want a simple boot that will function well on and off the bike. I was comparing these boots to the Joe Rocket Big Bang 2.0 boots and ultimately chose these because they had slightly better reviews.

Is the buckle plastic or aluminum? S&S web site says aluminum, reviews here say plastic.
A shopper on Jan 6, 2013
BEST ANSWER: As per Speed & Stregth, due to a running change in production, all 2013 Speed and Strength Hard Knock Life Boots will now come equipped with a Black Aluminum Buckle in place of the previous years plastic version.
Are they leather or a textile?
A shopper on Jun 25, 2012
BEST ANSWER: The eyelids are textile sewn into several layers of leather. They feel pretty sold, I don't see where they would break free easily.
I have a need to always wear custom fit orthotics, so it'd be great to know, thanks.
A shopper on Jun 21, 2012
BEST ANSWER: Yes, the inner sole is removable on the Speed and Strength Hard Knock Life Boots.
How is the water resistance for these boots?
A shopper on Oct 21, 2014
BEST ANSWER: Excellent in dry, warm to hot days. Never tried them in wet conditions. However, the perforations work quite well so I expect they would absorb some water.
How much do these boots weigh? I'm looking at getting a size 12, but would need to have it then forwarded to me separately. So, I'd like to have an idea of what these boots weigh. The S&S website didn't have the details, and I haven't seen it here, either.
Unless I've missed the info somewhere ...
Yusseri Y on Nov 26, 2013
BEST ANSWER: Hi. One boot weighs 640 grams (dunno which measurement you use).
does this product come in half sizes? i wear a 10.5
A shopper on Apr 1, 2013
BEST ANSWER: I have read that many people use a size smaller, so if you are a 10.5 you would wear a 10.
But I personally have had my share of issues with shoe sizes, so being that I wear a 9.5 wide and they do not come in wide sizes, I decided to get a size 10. I would have to say its true to its size.
My advice is, if other than a 10.5, you can wear a 10 normally than do the 10, but if that is usually too small then go for the 11. Always remember that you can exchange it for free, just make sure you try it on indoors so that should you need to exchange them, they will still remain in new conditions. Hope this helps.
