Speed and Strength Bikes Are In My Blood Jacket
Good looking and cool-feeling jacket in hot weather, though logos are a bit much.
With the zippers open and moving, this jacket has plenty of airflow to keep me cool in hot South Florida weather. The design is smart and has plenty of features, though I wish there was a larger zipper pull for the inside pocket: the inside zipper pull is tiny and difficult to get a grasp on when you're fumbling around for something.
With the zippers closed, the jacket is very good at keeping out most of the water, though I haven't been in enough rain yet to fully test it. Weak spots are, as always, the zippers, but also the low-cut, wide collar allows a bit more water in than would be desired. You should consider a rain jacket on top if going through heavy storms.
At about 5'7", 180 pounds, with a 38" chest, this jacket fits very well both with and without the thermal liner. The armor stays in place with the thermal liner out, and there is still some room in the gut for larger folks, and further adjustments for those who need a little more room.
I haven't had any unscheduled get-offs, so I can't comment on the protection and durability other than I expect it will be enough to protect through one good slide. It feels well-made, though one tiny thing that bothered me was that some of the rubbery material on the rear piping started to scratch off.
HOWEVER, one downside that must be mentioned is that one of the velcro bases on the wrists is shorter than the other, so the cinching on that arm doesn't get as well-secured as the other arm does, leaving the strap to flap a bit. It's still decently secure, but it's an annoyance nonetheless. I got this at a local shop instead of RevZilla (shame on me!) since I needed it in a hurry, and it was the only one they had, so I don't know if this is typical build quality or if it was just a manufacturing defect.
One other downside depends on your taste: For me, I don't care to have too many or large logos on my gear. While it certainly looks decent, the design could be tightened up somewhat or minimized, and still maintain its style.
Overall, a good jacket at a good price.
