Shogun Protection Kit Honda CBR 600 RR

Shogun Complete Protection Kit includes matching bar ends, frame sliders, and swingarm spools.  Shogun sliders are superior to other slider brands by virtue of their construction and material. Shogun pucks, bar ends and spools are made of a shatter proof UHMW infused with UV protective polymer. Shogun sliders absorb kinetic energy from crashes and will not shatter in cold temperature like some types of Delrin or fade in the sun. Each slider has a press fit aluminum bushing (excluding bar ends) to hold it in place during impact to reduce the risk of the slider puck or spool tearing off of the mounting point. Shogun frame slider offsets are CNC machined from the same grade aluminum as military aircraft. Offsets are anodized black to match OEM components. Each offset is manufactured to stringent specifications with ISO 9000 quality control.

Each Shogun Frame Slider comes with high tensile strength corrosion resistant hardware (cheap imitators do not use high grade hardware and will quickly rust). Shogun uses socket head bolts in nearly every kit, allowing for stronger frame slider design in a more compact space. Newer applications of Shogun Frame Sliders make use of a counter sunk design, which distributes the force of impact over a wider area and gives additional strength to the system so that the puck remains attached to the motorcycle.

Worth it I bought a set of these for my 2014 R6, unfortunately I got T-boned by a truck and had to put these to the test. They saved a lot of my plastics, but I got hit hard enough to where the tires lifted off the ground and my bike received some damaged. The damage would've been way worse without these though. They definitely saved a few thousand in damage. Needless to say, I ordered another set and put it on already. The reason I gave it 4 stars is because I wish the swing arm sliders were longer. Since they are pretty short, my exhaust was damaged in the accident. July 23, 2014
Easy install New to street bikes I decided to install these myself on the Ninja 300. I ran into a couple hiccups with the bolts but noticed when I didn't use a service stand they slid right in. Other than that, It was very easy to do and I couldn't be happier with quality. Side note: Make sure you view a Youtube video or download a manual/instructions, it was not provided. June 17, 2014
Great kit Hopefully I won't put this to a test. I put the sliders on a 250r that my son is going to learn to ride on. Simple installation. Things fit. June 2, 2014
Slider ends Bent with first tip over Installed on 2013 Ninja 300. Slight cutting is required. Not any better than the sliders half the price. With the first tip-over slider-end bent and cracked my fairiing. Save your money does not provide as much protection as you think. May 23, 2014
Great! No Cut option the no cut sliders were not hard to install, If you put a jack under the motor for support. I do not recommend installing the handle bar ends, Unless you don't mind a lot of vibration. All and all great deal. May 8, 2014
easy install I bought this kit because I didn't want to cut on the bike's bodywork and it looks like it will be protective. I hope I don't have to try it out. As far as the installation goes, It is pretty easy to install the frame sliders. The kit does not come with instructions so you have to go online for instructions or watch a youtube video showing the install. One problem I had is that I thought the bolts for the pucks were too short. I called Revzilla and spoke to Phillip who I must say is great! He contacted Shogun for me and they explained to him that the pucks have a bushing that need to be pushed in with a socket and rubber mallet. After that, the pucks went on just fine. It would be nice if Shogun included instructions and little tips like that so I didn't have to waste Phillip's time with such a simple fix. I would not have thought that the bushing would need to be pushed in further than it is from factory because you can't tell that is needed without very close inspection. The lack of directions and little tips that would have avoided a phone call to customer service is the only reason I gave it 4 stars which is Shogun's fault because they do not include instructions with their products. Look good and hope to never use them Bought the no cut slider kit for my 2013 R6. Install was a breeze, no need to remove any plastics. Took 15 mins to finish install. Hopefully I don't need to ever use them but its peace of mind that they are there just in case plus that don't look too awful. March 31, 2014
Shogun Frame Sliders FTW If you ride then you MUST have frame sliders. Shogun saved my 2007 R6 from being totaled when I was in an accident on the freeway and it was a no brainer when I got my 2014 R1 March 5, 2014

RevZilla Store asked: Why did you choose this?
Paul H: Previous owner of my bike laid it down and scratched up the throttle side slider. I bought this to replace all of them so that the color matches and to have a more reliable set. So far I have not had to test these. But when I do I am sure they will do their job. Dec 30, 2013
edmond b: good value, good brand, good protection Dec 19, 2013
A shopper asked: Im looking at getting this set for my 2003 Honda CBR600rr, but I was wondering if I would have to cut my plastics to mount them properly? If I would have to cut plastics, are they any other kits you can recommend that don't require cutting holes in my plastics? Jan 30, 2014

edmond b: This is cool, i didnt no you could ask other people about products..
Well anyways, yeah you have to chop into the fairings a bit, i like the rear axle and the handle bar sliders though there pretty slick.
If you want a no cut kit, i can recommend "Oggy knobs" brand, the come with brackets to extend the anchor point of the crash knob beyond the frame, though unlike others they have a support between them that goes across the full width of the bike, so theres not much chance of damaging your chassis..There a bit expensive though, these shogun ones are great value.. If i wa you i wouldnt worry too much about cutting through the fairing once its done it doesnt look bad at all! just take your time doin it, will be all good :)

Paul H: I had to cut my fairings for this kit. In regards to no-cut frame sliders I believe Shogun makes them as well for the 03-04, 05-06 CBR600RRs. Personally I prefer the cut. This may look a little worse and be a somewhat daunting task, but in the long run its better protection. The no-cut involves a second piece that stretches the distance away from the fairing. That piece is a weakness and is prone to breaking in the event of a crash. Just a heads up and best of luck. Jan 30, 2014

Jeremy W: I have a 2006 Kawasaki zx636 and this kit required that I cut the plastics on the left side of my bike, so that I could mount the sliders to the engine. So, if you brought this kit you may have to do the same. There are no-cut kits available too. Try T-rex racing for a no-cut kit, if you don't want to cut your plastics. Jan 30, 2014

Julio S: Yes you do have to cut your plastics. I heard the the best frame sliders are the cut kit. I bought these after three months I had a low side and it did it's job. The only ones that I can recommend are the shogun cut kit, it save me a few bucks.. Jan 30, 2014

Tomas P: I bought the shogun no-cut sliders and they worked out well without cutting the plastics.. check and see if they have no-cut for your year of bike. Jan 30, 2014
