Shogun Frame Sliders Yamaha FZ1

Shogun sliders are superior to other slider brands by virtue of their construction and material--shatter-proof UHMW infused with UV protective polymer. Shogun sliders absorb kinetic energy from crashes and will not shatter in cold temperature like some types of Delrin or fade in the sun. Each slider has a press fit aluminum bushing (excluding bar ends) to hold it in place during impact to reduce the risk of the slider puck or spool tearing off of the mounting point. Shogun frame slider offsets are CNC machined from the same grade aluminum as military aircraft. Offsets are anodized black to match OEM components. Each offset is manufactured to stringent specifications with ISO 9000 quality control.

Each Shogun Frame Slider comes with high tensile strength corrosion resistant hardware (cheap imitators do not use high grade hardware and will quickly rust). Shogun uses socket head bolts in nearly every kit, allowing for stronger frame slider design in a more compact space. Newer applications of Shogun Frame Sliders make use of a counter sunk design, which distributes the force of impact over a wider area and gives additional strength to the system so that the puck remains attached to the motorcycle.

Designed by racers, sold by racers, for the serious rider!

Sold as a pair

Note: Carbon S5 Frame Sliders include a black anodized T-6061 aluminum end cap.

Saved my bike So I was on the fence about buying these frame sliders. But i AM SO GLAD I DID because some guy backed into my bike when I was at the store. I came out to find my alarm going crazy and my fz1 on its side. I reluctantly ran over to my bike to see the damage. And guess what? theses sliders saved my bike. The right slider is damaged (slightly) and I have a small scuff on my exhaust and that is it. If I didn't have these little guys my tank and plastics would have been smashed. This little investment saved me from a HUGE deductible. March 4, 2015
some cheap insurance to never use... hopefully A little added insurance. Don't ever want to see if it's durable or will help. Looking at and after install i can see that it's the best bang for the buck mod to "help" the engine from being messed up alot more than without it. Just make sure to add blue loctite on the thread and torque down to 30-33 ft lbs on the fz1. December 12, 2014
cheap peace of mind Have these sliders for my gsxr... Had to get some for my new fz1. Easy install and great deal for peace of mind in case the bike ends up on its side. Don't see why everyone doesn't put them in their bikes. A must have for street riding. August 25, 2014
Go for the Carbon! frame sliders are frame sliders... $50 bucks easy to install but the carbon option on these is just the look i wanted. Same build but a carbon fiber sleeve around the outside and an aluminum end cap. Looks great on my FZ1 and I hope I never need them January 27, 2014
Good frame sliders for the money Easy installation, seem solid. I haven't tested the hardness of the bolts but they seem to be well made. Should provide a decent level of protection in the event of a low-side. October 14, 2013
Easy Install & very sharp looking This was the first piece of equipment that I installed to my 2009 FZ1. The Shogun Frame Slider was an easy install - probably took all of 5 minutes for both sides. I purchased the carbon print (black) model and it quite matches my bike. Note - there are minimal instructions but all it took was to replace the existing bolts with the supplied bolts. The Aluminum cap was a bit more difficult to put on as the screws were not self tapping and they do NOT screw in tight. I believe a snug fit was all it took. All in all, the product was an easy install and it looked great on the bike. May 23, 2013

A shopper asked: What is the proper tq on FZ1? A reviewer said 30lbft but that seems a lot tighter than the bolts coming out. Apr 20, 2015

kenneth W: To be honest I didn't use a torque wrench. I got them hand tight then went a half to three quarter turn past that. They haven't budged or come lose yet. Apr 22, 2015

Chang Y: It's factory torqued around 30 I think but I used 26 ft lbs and blue loctite overnight . Hasn't come out for over 1000 miles. Still snug and not loose. Apr 20, 2015

A shopper asked: I have SW Motech crash bars on my Fz1where the frame sliders would go can I put frame sliders on top of the crash bars? Oct 2, 2014

Larry C: Sorry can't attest to that strategy as I installed the sliders directly onto the bike. I can't see any reason not to install them as you wish providing there is a place to put them. Remember the further they are away from the bike the more clearance you have but they are not as strong on the slide.

Michael c: I was thinking about putting crash bars on my fz1 and had the same question. The frame sliders go into the bolt holes when tightened down. If the bars slow for this it should work. Haven't decided if I wanted them so have yet to order the bars and try Oct 2, 2014
