Shogun Frame Sliders Honda RC 51

Shogun sliders are superior to other slider brands by virtue of their construction and material--shatter-proof UHMW infused with UV protective polymer. Shogun sliders absorb kinetic energy from crashes and will not shatter in cold temperature like some types of Delrin or fade in the sun. Each slider has a press fit aluminum bushing (excluding bar ends) to hold it in place during impact to reduce the risk of the slider puck or spool tearing off of the mounting point. Shogun frame slider offsets are CNC machined from the same grade aluminum as military aircraft. Offsets are anodized black to match OEM components. Each offset is manufactured to stringent specifications with ISO 9000 quality control.

Each Shogun Frame Slider comes with high tensile strength corrosion resistant hardware (cheap imitators do not use high grade hardware and will quickly rust). Shogun uses socket head bolts in nearly every kit, allowing for stronger frame slider design in a more compact space. Newer applications of Shogun Frame Sliders make use of a counter sunk design, which distributes the force of impact over a wider area and gives additional strength to the system so that the puck remains attached to the motorcycle.

Steve K asked: Does installation require cutting the plastics on the "02 honda RC-51 ? And would I be able to use the shogun frame slider end caps for this product/ Jan 6, 2014

Michael H: Hi steve, i have fitted to a 2001 fire blade 929 with no mods to plastics, they use the front side engine mounts bolt holes to secure these, they came with the required bolts, as for the end caps i am unsure, i dont believe end caps would fitt but i have mot seen them.., doesnt really help you with the rc51 though. I believe you would need to remove the grill in either side of the fairings to be able to fitt these on an RC51, i have not had a look what is behind the grill to see what else would be involved. But quick answer is yes some mods would need to be done but no cutting of plastics Jan 7, 2014

Joshua T: From what I can tell, it looks like you will need to cut some plastics. The end caps appear to be specifically for the Shogun Carbon S5 Frame Sliders, and not the product pictured.

For my zx-6r I got 'no-cut' sliders that still required some slight cutting on a non-visible plastic piece. In retrospect, I wish I had the normal version that requires cutting since they are supposedly better in a crash. I've also heard claims that frame sliders increase the chance of damaging your frame if they catch on the ground while sliding. Just something to consider. :)
