Shogun Frame Sliders Ducati Monster 696 / 796 / 1100

The Shogun Frame Slider features CNC-machined pucks made of a shatter-proof, abrasion-resistant and UV resistant polymer. This polymer has been race proven to keep your bike sliding and dispersing energy in the event of a crash. Each puck is then press fitted with an aluminum bushing to reduce the chance of the puck tearing off of its mounting points. Every single Shogun Frame Sliders kit includes high tensile strength and corrosion resistant hardware that puts them ahead of the competition. For kits with off-set brackets, Shogun machines them all from military aircraft grade aluminum with a black anodized finish.

Shogun Frame Sliders are designed by racers, sold by racers, for the serious rider!

Features:

  • CNC machined bike specific pucks
  • Great frame protection
  • High grade steel bolts
  • Aluminum Inserts
  • Sold in pairs
  • Carbon S5 Sliders include black anodized T-6061 aluminum end caps (applicable models)

Just installed, looks great.
Just installed these frame sliders on my Monster 796. Took all of 10 minutes to complete. Hardest part was getting my son off his X-Box long enough to hold the ratchet on the other side of the bike. Placed a floor jack under the engine, while the bike was on it's side stand and raised the jack just a bit to relieve tension on engine bolt. Bolt slid right out and new one from Shogun slid right in. Torqued to 44 ft/lbs as torque spec is 60 nm, and good to go. Have track day on August 26, and wanted these on before the track day. As the old saying goes, "Better to have it and not need it, than to need it and not have it".

Strong Slider bars
I was able to put these slider bars in with the help of my brother in just over an hour. We just needed a Jack to lift the engine. We took the pin to these sliders and pushed the one already inside out of the motorcycle using a mallet. I feel great riding with these since they will protect my bike from any accidental falls. Great deal and fits correctly in my Ducati Monster 696

Frame Protection
Seems like a nice durable product; hopefully I won't have to test it out one day. Better to have it rather than wishing you did after the fact.

Super easy to install. Extremely helpful if you had a 2nd person to help you out.

One of the cheaper investments you can make on your bike. Highly recommend it.

Instructions were not great
I watched a few youtube videos before i installed this product. Don't rely on the instructions provided. Use a jack and you can install by yourself while the bike is on the kickstand.

Easy to install.
Since my old Suzuki GS550 got knocked over in a hit and run while parked last year (conveniently the week before I was going to go on a motorcycle trip), I definitely wanted to add some protection to my new Monster 696 in case of a repeat hit-and-run or a low-side.

I picked the Shogun frame sliders mainly due to price and unobtrusive looks. Installation was simple with a floor jack and a couple socket wrenches with deep sockets, short extensions, and a torque wrench to torque the nut to 44 ft/lbs. Maybe I lucked out, but the stock engine bolt was easily tapped out by me after I jacked the engine slightly.

I can't speak to the durability or how well they protect in a slide/crash, and hopefully I never will be able to.

They work!
I looped a wheelie on my Ducati(whoops) at 40 and trashed the exhaust and handlebars. However, the side that slid for 50+ ft had almost no scratches(a few little ones because no axle sliders). The sliders did not bend, they still had material left for another slide or 2.

Install? With 2 people we supported the engine with a floor jack and removed 1 rod through the engine. Put in the new shogun rod with the sliders and that's it.

I would recommend if you're on a budget but need frame protection. They worked very well in my crash.

Solid product
Great product. Hope I don't need to test it out. But it will save my leg in a slide. And protect the frame and engine. Pre- cut is the way to go. I had my dealer install it since my bike was due for service.

Better to have them then not

This is by far the best frame slider to get for my bike, price and quality are spot on! Easy to install. Jack up the bike while on its kick stand for about an inch to release the tension, simply unscrew both sides of the oem frame bar, replace it with the new one and torque it to 44lb, and good to go. All that took less than 20 min.
