Shoei X-12 Kiyonari 2 Helmet 4.8 5 44 44
I love this Helmet!! I Owned a Shoei x-11 for quite some time and, after crashing in it on the track, I was concerned about spending so much money on a x-12. However, now that I have the helmet, I have no regrets. I have ridden in other helmets, Arai, Scorpion, Suomy, Icon, but Shoei is by far my choice brand. The fit is excellent, the quality of the air flow and noise reduction is great, and the extra features like the emergency cheek pad release tabs, chin curtain, breath guard, and overall style of the helmet, makes it the best helmet i have ever own. October 5, 2012
Fantastic helmet This helmet is very comfortable - the fit is great. Ventilation is pretty good, but it could honestly be better. Noise leve is OK, but I wear earplug anyway. Styling is fantastic - I love how this helmet looks, and it also feels very light (even though it's supposed to be heavier than its predecessor). I crashed in this helmet once in a highside, and had no head injuries, so it did its job very well. August 27, 2012
Shoei, I will never waver again! I will never buy another brand again! I've been riding for 43 years, owned 71 bikes, and many helmets. Way back when, starting with Shoei, I thought Hemet's were much alike..Wrong. After wearing out my Shoei X9, I tried a lesser but very popular brand, Scorpion. I was ok with the Lid but because the X9 was so used up the newness of the scorpion was nice. So when it was time to replace it I read the reviews of all the new helmet's and their tech, Revzilla your the best at vidieoing all you sell. I did own the very first model BellStar around 1970, so I thought I'd give the new Rs1 a try. It is probably a great helmet but not for me. Hot spots on the crown and kind of thin in the liner, not super quality and very loud. So my brother is Aria faithful so I gave the new RX-Q a shot. It was comfy inside, but the shield would not stay up above 20 mph and terribly loud past 30 mph even with all the vents closed. Very frustrated at this point. I tried on the Shoei RF1100 and the Quest, they both felt pretty good but still not perfect. All the reviews said how loud the X12 was, also that it is a race only helmet but I bought one anyway. I don't know why I was suprised. The fit was spot on right out of the box. Comfort and quality is absolutely heaven. Materials and craftsmanship are excellent. venting is very effective, emergency pad removal, and this is by far the quietest helmet I have ever owned bar none. I will only wear ear plugs on the very long rides. I don't know if the late build date has anything to do with it, but this hemet is quiet, and worth every dollar. My main ride is the BMW 1200RT but I also have a BMW HP2 Sport so you know my head is in the direct wind flow. August 16, 2012
Definitely a race helmet Great helmet. I came from using Supmy Spec1R Extreme, and in comparison to that helmet, the shoei gives an overall better quality in comfort and airflow. One thing that I didn't like about the x12 was the fact that it was considerably noisy compared to my old helmet. Can't complain though since its a race helmet with mutltiple air channels July 2, 2012
Great comfort, Great style Purchased the Shoei X-12 Glory 2 Helmet for my husband for his birthday. Its stylish, has great airflow and is lighter and more comfortable on his head and neck than his Shark. June 9, 2012
Top of the line helmet, and looks fantastic! I previously owned a Shoei RF-1000 Troy Lee Designs helmet a few years ago. I bought another bike last year, and have always wanted to get back into a Shoei. I had been wearing an Arai Corsair V, and wanted to try out the Shoei X-12. And of course, it doesn't disappoint. Pros: - GREAT look. Sleek and stylish. You really stand out with this. - Comfortable. Nice fitment. - Vision is excellent. - Lightweight - SUPER easy release of visor! VERY VERY easy (much easier than the Arai) Cons: - Noisy at high speeds. Slight whistle - Vents are GOOD, but not great. - Visor movement is a little rough when opening, not so smooth as the Arai. Overall, a great helmet. It's light, feels great and has superb vision. You definitely get what you pay for! June 4, 2012
awesome quality that is expected for Shoei I have owned many helmets over the years but the Shoei X-12 tops them all. Very comfortable for my very large round oval head. If other helmets put pressure on you forehead this one is for you. My only complaint with this helmet is the noise with visor up and vents open. Other than that the helmet is superb in all categories! May 23, 2012
Protected at 40mph lowsided and had head impact - no issues helmet was light and had great field of vision May 8, 2012

Answer:
The Shoei X-12 B-Boz Helmet weighs 1766 grams, or 3.89 lbs, which puts it a bit on the heavier side. It's definitely going to be heavier than your C3, which sits at only 1709 grams, or 3.77. We'd recommend taking a look at webbikeworld.com for a great comparison of helmet weights.

Answer:
Hi,

I have owned both an RF1100 (past) and X-12 (current). Both were size Medium and both fit my head similarly. I found that there was more room between the chin bar and my nose/face with the RF1100 -- this could be due to the shape of the helmet or the way the X-12 sits on my head.

I just saw that Arai had introduced the Signet Q line of helmets to cater to riders with long oval (i. e. long and narrow) head shapes. The Shoei X-12 is supposedly a medium round oval. Which Shoei models cater to long oval heads?
Can you include the general shape of the helmet in your product database as a field so when I'm perusing through your inventory I can narrow my search by that?

Thanks,

Henrik

Answer:
We find the X-12 Helmet to have an "Intermediate Oval" or "Neutral" fit and the RF-1100 to be better accomodating for "Long-Oval" or "Narrow" head shapes. It is not as narrow as the Arai Signet-Q but is currently the best long-oval option from Shoei.

Feel free to also check out the customer review section and see what shape the X-12 and RF-1100 owners find them to be.

Answer:
At this time, in the US, the Kiyonari 2 Helmet is only available in Red, Black and Blue. From time to time, helmet manufacturers release different colors or graphics to different parts of the world. This may be an example of the White Kiyonari helmet only being available in Japan. If additional colors are released in the future, we will absolutely make them available as soon as possible!

Answer:
in my opinion, its up to you, about which do you prefer, the full face, flip up, or the half face. But take a look at ur description of the speed limit, i prefer the QWEST for the full face, as you don't need the full aerodynamic helmet like xr1100 or x12

It really depends on the shape of your head. The shoei is a wonderful helmet, it's not for people that have a more round head.
