X-12's are top notch
I have and have been using this helmet for 2 years and its really really great product and workmanship. The internal liner is like I just bought it yesterday and not falling apart. The noise reduction compared to the RF110 is noticable and I really won't be going to another brand.. Just another color when I get bored or buy a bike that won't match the color scheme. Visor will need to be adjusted after many hours and hours of riding, open and closed a million times but when I did adjust it for one small air leak it was right back to ultra quiet.

matte black X12; 2012 ZX10r
For a race fit, I will always stay with Shoei. It vents nicely, stability is rock solid and the fit is unparralled. This helmet is an extension of your head. I wish the visor was as thick as my Speed R but that is really nitpicking. This helmet is the biz. I've read complaints about the venting and while you won't feel gushing air like a Corsair or Bell Star, whatever Shoei has done to make the air circulate and cool, works. When it was hot this past summer in the humid Atlanta heat of 90+, my head NEVER was hot or uncomfortable. Quietest race helmet that actually keeps your head cool dispels the notion that an airy race helmet has to be a loud helmet. Less is more and this X12 delivers the goods so that you don't even notice you have it on. Not flashy like the SR1, and on par with the Corsair but priced %20% cheaper and a with a superior profile IMO. It simply get the job done.

x-12 kiyonari dragon helmet
I bought my x-12 at a great deal kiyonari red dragon. Looks and feel amazing, took a while to break in but after that the helmet fits like a glove on my head. Coming from Arai corsair v, this helmet for me seems lighter and much quieter and changing shields easy compared to my arai. I would recommend this helmet, best money can buy!!!!

I would buy it again
I am confident that this helmet will protect me. It feels solid, it fits great and looks good. The airflow inside the visor does a great job of keeping the visor clear

I love this Helmet!!
I Owned a Shoei x-11 for quite some time and, after crashing in it on the track, I was concerned about spending so much money on a x-12. However, now that I have the helmet, I have no regrets. I have ridden in other helmets, Arai, Scorpion, Suomy, Icon, but Shoei is by far my choice brand. The fit is excellent, the quality of the air flow and noise reduction is great, and the extra features like the emergency cheek pad release tabs, chin curtain, breath guard, and overall style of the helmet, makes it the best helmet i have ever own.

Fantastic helmet
This helmet is very comfortable - the fit is great. Ventilation is pretty good, but it could honestly be better. Noise leve is OK, but I wear earplug anyway. Styling is fantastic - I love how this helmet looks, and it also feels very light (even though it's supposed to be heavier than its predecessor).
I crashed in this helmet once in a highside, and had no head injuries, so it did its job very well.

Shoei, I will never waver again!
I will never buy another brand again! I've been riding for 43 years, owned 71 bikes, and many helmets. Way back when, starting with Shoei, I thought Hemet's were much alike..Wrong. After wearing out my Shoei X9, I tried a lesser but very popular brand, Scorpion. I was ok with the Lid but because the X9 was so used up the newness of the scorpion was nice. So when it was time to replace it I read the reviews of all the new helmet's and their tech, Revzilla your the best at vidieoing all you sell. I did own the very first model BellStar around 1970, so I thought I'd give the new Rs1 a try. It is probably a great helmet but not for me. Hot spots on the crown and kind of thin in the liner, not super quality and very loud. So my brother is Aria faithful so I gave the new RX-Q a shot. It was comfy inside, but the shield would not stay up above 20 mph and terribly loud past 30 mph even with all the vents closed. Very frustrated at this point. I tried on the Shoei RF1100 and the Quest, they both felt pretty good but still not perfect. All the reviews said how loud the X12 was, also that it is a race only helmet but I bought one anyway. I don't know why I was suprised. The fit was spot on right out of the box. Comfort and quality is absolutely heaven. Materials and craftsmanship are excellent. venting is very effective, emergency pad removal, and this is by far the quietest helmet I have ever owned bar none. I will only wear ear plugs on the very long rides. I don't know if the late build date has anything to do with it, but this hemet is quiet, and worth every dollar. My main ride is the BMW 1200RT but I also have a BMW HP2 Sport so you know my head is in the direct wind flow.
