Makes the helmet fit that much better Helps make the helmet fit the shape of my head, I have always had to use different size cheekpads to help customize the size. Works out perfectly August 20, 2012
A nice comfort option that could be the answer for a lot of people Actually purchased for my dad who bought an X-12 Vermulen 4 just like mine. Let me tell you. He's been ordering XLs forever and finally looking at a size chart, he realized he is really a size L. He ordered the large and the fit was great but he thought the 31mm cheek pads (helmet comes with 35 mm) would give him just a little bit of extra room. The result is an absolute perfect fit. I think a lot of people fall into this category. Therefore when you think you should go to the next (ie: L to XL), do yourself a favor and try the smaller cheek pads. It might just be the answer. Great change for those with fat/narrow cheeks Only issue with the X-12 helmet is that they use the same sized cheekpad in every size helmet. Since Shoei uses different sized shells for each helmet size, this should work out. However, I guess my cheeks are fatter than the average Japanese man who wears a medium. The top part of the helmet (the most important) fits my head with a medium perfectly. The large was too large, but felt the best in the face. Face doesn't matter though, the top of the head matters. Solution, medium sized X-12 with these 31mm pads. I only wish I didn't have to pay $50 for this. March 27, 2010
