I purchased a RF-1100 to replace my Shark Evoline ST because it was too heavy. I'm very happy with this helmet. I went up to the Revzilla store and worked with Bobby (the best customer service) who walked me through several brands and models. The Shoei just fit the best and had the features I wanted. The removable liner was a must have for me and all the interior material is very comfortable. From my perspective, the venting is very good. The 4 exit vents in the rear of the helmet alone keep thing nice and cool but with the front 2 open it really pushes air through the helmet. Peripheral vision is excellent on this helmet. I also installed the SENA SMH10 with no problem as well as the pin lock visor. The detent for airflow is an excellent feature. I have spend hours with this helmet on and it has remained comfortable during extended rides. Overall I'm very happy with the RF-1100 and I see it lasting a long time.

It's winter here so I have not tested the helmet on the road yet. I am very pleased with the quality of the helmet overall and how light it feels. It is snug getting into it, but once on, feels very comfortable and secure. I purchased the small and would not want a different size, it feels just right once it's on, and I followed their sizing quide. I purchased a lightly tinted shield to go with it. The qualities I was after in making this purchase were: reduced wind noise, lightweight, aerodynamics, and looks/color. Its hard to stop looking at the graphics, they are so well done. This exceeded all expectations so far and knowing Shoei, it will perform as expected on the road too.

Great helmet with great look. mean! fits well, quiet and comfortable. I love wearing my skull cap helmet but at highway speeds and no wind shield, it can get a little crazy. Safety is a big concern and this helmet is about as good as it gets. The graphica are wonderful and the face shield provides a nice seal that allows a controlled environment inside the helmet. There is so much air flow inside that I actually am cooler in this than my shorty helmet. I highly recommend to anyone who wants a good helmet at a higher price point.

Going from an Xpeed Helmet, this Shoei is extremely quiet and super light compared to the other. Air flow is awesome, even at slow speeds I still feel the cooling effect. The visor does fog up a bit more than I like in cooler weather, but it is 80-90% humidity most of the time. Once it warms up though, this helmet shines!! There's very little buffeting, if none at all, and it really supports the head's shape. One way to clean the visor is to use Plexus plastic cleaner, it works wonders.
Overall best buy for me ever, can't wait for the summer to roll around.

The fit is true to size, very comfortable with good airflow when I want it. I like the feature that pushes out the faceshield slightly to prevent fogging. Peripheral vision is very good also.

Great helmet for the price. Fairly light, not terribly loud, very comfortable, easily removable cheek-pads and visor, solid styling. It can feel a little warm/stuff, but what can you do? Fogs up a bit when stationary, but clears up once you start moving, and the helmet also has a nice feature where you can prop the visor open just the slightest bit. Not perfect, but solidly designed. Recommended.

Was getting hot spots/pain on my head from an HJC CL15 after an hour of riding. Wore my wife's Shoei ZForce which is very comfortable and quite well built. Bobby at the Philly showroom explained that the Shoei was 12-20 years old and that helmets have a 5 year service life. Eye opener! This was enough evidence of Shoei's build quality. I crossed shopped Arai models but the RF-1100 seem to fit my head the best. I was shown proper sizing, visor removal, features. Props to service at the showroom. On the road, the RF-1100 was quiet, had excellent venting, was very comfortable to wear and was very effective in defogging. I installed the breathe guard and the chin curtain which seemed to make my winter ride much more comfortable. I'm very glad that I went for the Shoei instead of a lesser helmet. Highly recommended!

The fitting shape is somewhat similar. The X-11 was labeled with having an "earth" like shape where it was widest around the ears. The RF-1100 is a neutral to slight round shape. The shapes are not identical but fall close in the shape spectrum for helmets.

Unfortunately, only Australian dealers are able to provide helmets with the AUS certification sticker. All helmet purchased through US dealers would come with a DOT sticker.

My GF has the RF-1000 in a size medium and it's too snug on me. It puts a lot of pressure on my forehead. Oddly enough, the RF-1100 fits me perfectly in the same size medium.

ive never had and RF-1000 but the RF1100 was a little small when i ordered a medium. im a pretty average sized guy, so i thought the MD would be about right.... not so true. try measuring your head and using the size chart. thats what helped me determine that i should stick with a large. good luck!

I have both an RF1000 and an RF1100 both in the same size, I would say the fit is the same however the RF1100 seems like there is more room which is probably due to the larger viewing area of the 1100.
