Made a big difference.
Helmet was a little tight until I installed these check pads. Made the helmet a perfect fit.

Just a question to Shoei ...
These pads installed easily and fixed the "chipmunk cheeks" problem all well and good, but my question is - On a $700+ helmet, I 'm wondering why I (we) had to spend an additional $40+ to get the smaller cheek pads in the first place - most notably because, since the majority of comments I've read online indicated that the standard cheek pads were too thick to begin with. It's a great helmet though. That's for sure.

Fixes the annoying fit problem with the NEOTEC but should not be extra cost
Same comments as other reviewers - these 31mm check pads are great and solve the fit problem with this great helmet but they should come with the helmet in the first place. I have a very thin face for XL helmet size but the 35mm cheek pads that came with the helmet were too thick, even for me. The 35mm pads are now in the trash as there's no other use for them. Seriously Shoei - this is ridiculous.

If your original cheek pads are too tight, this a must to have; very comfortable.

I have never worn a full shield helmet and found that it was too tight on my face. I purchased the thinner inserts and it is now bearable to wear. I was not happy with paying what I did for the helmet and wearing it for awhile and finding it so uncomfortable.. I was referred to this site and relieved to find a solution to the problem.

Cheeks were too tight
These are simple snap in replacements, pretty expensive when you have already purchased an expensive helmet but necessary if the cheek area is too tight.

Shoei 31mm cheek pads
The standard 35mm cheek pads were tight in my Shoei Neotec.
Pop in the 31mm cheek pads and the fit is just right. Thanks Shoei and Revzilla.

Much better fit than the original. I could probably use a little thinner set. I guess my fat head is to blame.

Hillary L: The Neotec is an almost perfect fit for me. Hopefully, the ability to fine tune the fit will make it the perfect helmet. If only Shoei would add some decent graphics to the Neotec...Aug 29, 2014
Joseph G: I needed a looser fit in the cheek area. Helmet very comfortable otherwize.Jul 20, 2014
Phillip M: The stock XL Shoei Neotec helmet comes with 35mm cheek pads. It was obvious when I first put it on that the helmet fit very well overall, but was far too constricting around the cheeks and jaw. The associate that I reached at Revzilla helped me determine that the XL helmet was probably the right size, and that the thinner cheek pads were the answer.Jul 15, 2014
David N: Recently purchased Shoei Neotec helmet. It is too tight around the cheeks. This should resolve the issue. Free shipping sealed the deal!Jul 1, 2014
H R: With the Neotec helmet you can adjust the fit by changing the pads inside the helmet This is especially helpful if you carry many different passengers :-)Jun 25, 2014
H Ross R: I purchased the Neotech in the XL size which gave me the largest shell size. The smaller size Cheek Pads helped fill in the sides to make the helmet fit my longer oval head shape.Jun 16, 2014
kevin h: Have XL Neotec and the cheek pads are just a little too tight to the point were my right side jaw aches. After reading the reviews the smaller cheek pads sounds like the perfect solution.Jun 2, 2014
Curt D: The helmet fit great but cheeks were squished, so i went to a smaller cheek-pad to help to not feel quite so confined. (Kids were laughing at me-pride was hurt)May 31, 2014
Chris H: In order to create a better fit if the Neotec with the stock cheekpads is to tight.I read that it has a tighter fit .May 27, 2014

David R: 35 mm standard pads are too tightFeb 23, 2014
Steven M: The stock cheek pads were a little tight, after a couple of hours I would get a headache from the pressure, these cheek pads are a couple of mms smaller and cured the tightness problem. The helmet still fits tight enough to provide the needed protection, but is now wearable for longer periods.Feb 17, 2014
Wells M: Works perfectly to make my Neotec fit my fat face.Feb 10, 2014
Craig C: The cheek pads that came standard with the helmet were too tight for my "chipmunk" cheeks. I ordered these 31's with the hopes that the helmet will fit perfectly without the discomfort of the standard 35mm pads.Jan 16, 2014
