The helmet is even more comfortable now
I've had my size Large Neotec for about a year now. It was little tight around the head at first, but within a few weeks it became quite comfortable. Not so with the stock cheekpads. They were never uncomfortable to the point of pain, but if I thought about them while riding, they were always kind of bugging me. When I would lift the chinbar, I would have the "fishface" as another reviewer mentioned.

So I finally bought the smaller 31mm cheekpads. I wish I would done it about 6 months ago, because they never really loosened up much with time and use. (about 6000 miles riding)

The new pads still slightly touch my cheeks, but there is no tension on them to cause any discomfort. (or fishface)

My only regret is that they are about $20 too expensive.

Neotech cheek pads
I wear a large helmet and with the .35 MM installed pads, I had trouble with tightness on my cheeks and closing the chin bar. I installed the .31 MM one and it feels much better.

Typical Shoei Quality
Nice that replacement parts are available for custom fitment of helmets. These replacement pads carry the same high level of quality as the originals.

Extra cheek pads should be included
Like many many others have ranted about, these should already be included given the price of the helmet. But also a good majority seem to agree the 35mm stock pads are just too tight. Granted I was able to manage the tight fit with the stock pads for an hour or two, I wasn't able to communicate easily with a BT intercom. Now with the smaller 31mm pads, the fit is just right and communication is much easier on my cheeks.

This should be automatically included. The cheekpads that come installed are way too thick.

If the stock pads are too tight, this are a must.
There are only 2 sizes on cheek pads: Good and Bad. I was not able to have the helmet more than 60 min. with the stock pads. Now its an all-day thing.

This is what the helmet should have come with from the factory
great fit and finally comfortable ride in my Shoei Neotec. No more squished face :)
Revzilla had the best price and the shipping was plenty fast.
Highly recommend this product if you have regular shape face. Cheek Pads that came standard with the helmet are probably only suitable for someone with really skinny/narrow face.

works well
I have never worn a full shield helmet and found that it was too tight on my face. I purchased the thinner inserts and it is now bearable to wear. I was not happy with paying what I did for the helmet and wearing it for awhile and finding it so uncomfortable.. I was referred to this site and relieved to find a solution to the problem.

Just a question to Shoei ...
These pads installed easily and fixed the "chipmunk cheeks" problem all well and good, but my question is - On a $700+ helmet, I 'm wondering why I (we) had to spend an additional $40+ to get the smaller cheek pads in the first place - most notably because, since the majority of comments I've read online indicated that the standard cheek pads were too thick to begin with. It's a great helmet though. That's for sure.

I wear a balaclava under my helmet in winter which compresses the padding to a certain degree. So I bought a second pair of cheek pads for better fit in the summer. Love my Neotec.

When I bought my Neotec from Revzilla I felt it was too tight in the cheeks so Revzilla had the right size for me. Fast delivery, No complaints here.......

I chose Revzilla to purchase by Shoei items as they saved me money, the shipping was free (again saved me money) and the shipping was as fast as Anthony speaks. YEAH!!

I chose this because i have a Neotec i've had for a couple of years. i finally decided to quit biting my cheeks. i hope that these will be a less tight fit. i wouldn't have known about smaller pads if i hadn't watched Anthony's video review. it just took me awhile to order them. thanks Guys

The lining in my NeoTec is not in great shape, but the helmet is only three years old. I love the helmet and figured it would be better to replace the lining that it would be to buy a new helmet.

Christopher H on Aug 9, 2015
The standard pads were too thick for me...especially because this is the helmet I use for law enforcement and talking to people became a painful exercise in cheek biting. The thinner pads were just the "ticket". Still great fitting but more room to talk comfortably on the radio or to citizens.
Todt C on Aug 5, 2015
I find that the cheek pads in my Neotec helmet are tight. I'm hoping these will be just right
Mario B on Jul 30, 2015
The default fit on the Neotec is indeed rather tight on the face compared to my Multitec. I hope this will alleviate that tightness. Otherwise the Neotec has a great fit.

Scott B on Jun 3, 2015
The standard Neotec cheek pads are too thick and become uncomfortable very quickly. I develop a headache in less than a 100 miles into a trip. I'm hoping the smaller pads will give me some relief. Otherwise I love the Neotec.

I already bought Neotec L but it slightly not fit. Is it possible to buy 39mm to replace the stock to make it fit ?
A shopper on Oct 9, 2015
BEST ANSWER: Yes, of course. You can custom fit your Neotec by purchasing larger or smaller cheek pads and/or crown liner. It would be nice if Shoei would include these optional pads with the new helmet but since they do not, your choices are purchase directly from a dealer who has the various pads in stock and can fit you while you are there or internet purchase and try it on and then order additional pads. Maybe Revzilla will allow you to exchange the original pads for correct pads, don't know but will not hurt to ask. My own experience required I purchase a tighter crown and looser cheek pads after a year of wearing the helmet. Good luck.
Will the thinner cheek pads help with pulling it over my ears. Also with being able to hear better?
A shopper on Apr 22, 2016
BEST ANSWER: The thinner pads do give you more room for putting the helmet on and removing it. There is no noticeable hearing advantage, however.
Looking to buy a Medium size Shoei Multitech helmet for my wife. Will buying 41mm cheek pads make it a small size helmet?
A shopper on Mar 26, 2015
BEST ANSWER: I found that the helmet fit the top of my head very well but was tight on my cheeks so I got thinner cheek pads. Getting thicker cheek pads will only make the helmet tighter on your face. It will not change the way it fits the top of your head.
