Shoei Neotec Center Pad 4.8 5 19 19
Works well Replacement for the stock one. Original worked well for around town and local rides - like an hour or hour and a half. Went to Sturgis and rode all day for two weeks, had intense forehead and top front of head pressure after a couple of hours. Headache city. This is an exact copy of the stock liner except it's a bit thinner. Fits and feels good/better than the original for the local rides. Gave it four stars because I haven't done an all day ride yet. Think it will work well. It's all about the fit. September 7, 2015
Makes your helmet like new again The lining on my Shoei Neotec was smelly from all my sweating in the hot, humid Florida weather. But when I went to wash it again, the lining began falling apart. Since my helmet is only two years old I ordered this lining instead of buying a new helmet. The lining is not cheap by a long stretch, but it is much cheaper than a new Neotec. It fit perfect, although since my old liner had compressed over time, the helmet is fitting tighter. When the liner breaks in, I'm sure the fit will go back to the way it was. September 7, 2015
Easy Way to Customize Fit While I like the Neotec as a helmet, the size large has always felt slightly too big, but the medium was clearly too small. The 13mm replacement liner provides just enough additional material for a perfect fit (Neotec's come standard with a 9mm liner). Easy installation and a shout out to Revzilla for amazingly fast delivery and a reasonable price. My only regret is that I should have done this sooner. July 29, 2015
Great option to optimize fit I bought the Neotec for riding with a balaclava in the cold, so sized up slightly to a large shell with a 9mm pad. The helmet is so nice that I want to use it in the summer as well, so got the, large shell 13mm pad which makes it fit me like a medium, without the balaclava. April 20, 2015
Great replacement! I needed a replacement lining so I ordered of Revz and a couple of days later - Boom! On my doorstep. Or rather my mates doorstep, I'm in Brunei so I had to wait till he flew back in a few days later lol. This time though, I will have it shipped directly here. February 21, 2015
Make sure your helmet fits I learned a lesson in helmet sizing as the Neotec had pressure points on the forehead and was a bit loose on the top of the head. A comfortable helmet cups your head equally all around and you're unable to lift it easy when grabbing it upwards. The smaller lining solved the support issue but I still had to depress the forehead area to relieve pressure there. The Neotec fits very differently than the Multitec but at least the linings are removable . October 20, 2014
Very Pleased!!!!! Only place that had what I needed! Fast shipping! Thanks for the all the videos telling and showing the products! September 15, 2014
It did what I needed I wanted a better fit for my helmet so I added a larger center pad. Easy to replace and it fit like it should. September 8, 2014

Daniel G: The lining in my NeoTec is not in great shape, but the helmet is only three years old. I love the helmet and figured it would be better to replace the lining that it would be to buy a new helmet. Aug 18, 2015
Barry M: Bought this replacement liner a tad bit smaller than original as the old one stretched and the helmet began to flop around on my head. Now this one won't stay "snapped" in across the front and I had to install 3 screws to hold it in. Not real pleased with this SHOEI helmet so far... Jul 5, 2015

Bryan G: Helped dial in the fit on my Neotec. With slightly thicker center pad and slightly thinner cheek pads, the helmet now fits like it was custom made for my head. Mar 8, 2015
John G: Needed another set of pads when I was washing the others. Oct 29, 2014
Michael D: "I live in Florida and the liner needs to be changed out for cleaning often enough to make having a spare set very handy." Oct 12, 2014

Andrew W: I wear a shoei neotec for work and I need to change the linings May 5, 2014
Paula R: I went from an RF 1100 to the Neotech of the same size. My head hurts! Apr 12, 2014
R A: This helped my Shoei Neotec Medium size helmet fit a little snugger. I also have an older Small Shoei which is just a tad too snug. With this pad the Medium fit just right Nov 15, 2013
Kris S: Allowed me to make my Neotec one size smaller for a better fit. Oct 17, 2013
R L: OE fit was too loose Sep 6, 2013
Kyle S asked: I bought a Large and while it fits my head well, I notice the helmet wants to sit low on my forehead causing me to constantly push up on the chin bar to reposition the helmet higher (it's like it's rotating forward towards my eyebrows). Will a thicker/smaller center pad help the help eliminate this and not squeeze my head? May 26, 2015

Charles B: Kyle,

Helmet fit is tricky business. The Shoe L Neotec fits me nicely. I purchased an extra liner simply to use as a backup.

If you put on your helmet and it feels good then bend over, inverting your head, and shake your head with the strap unbuckled. See if the helmet seems comfortably stable and not moving around or falling off. If it stays put its probably a good fit. If it's a tiny bit loose get the thicker liner and try it. Rev Zilla has a great return policy.

Also, being a long rider I often buy the foam inserts sold for bicycle helmets and place the foam on various places to super tune the fit of my helmet for those 800 mile days on the interstate at 85-95 mph. I cut the foam to fit and place it between the helmet and the factory pad. In a pinch I've also used a folded handkerchief.

I love the Neotec !!!!

Paul P: I have the same problem with the Neotec and I've read that some others do too. My XL was a slightly loose with the standard pad and I also kept pushing up on the chin bar to make it sit higher from my brow. I purchased the thickest pad and the helmet & now fits perfect and does not slide down as much, however it still wants to position itself lower on the brow than what I like. Not as much of a problem now when I ride my more upright riding position bike (R1200RT), but when I ride my sport bike with a tuck position, the helmet still sits too low on the brow. May 26, 2015

Joe A: Yes, a thicker center pad will help. After using the OEM pad for months myself, it's gotten slightly loose and a new pad can make it feel like a new helmet

As far as squeezing your head goes, it's more snug from your forehead over your head to the back of your crown.

Test how tight the snaps secure the new pad when you get it; I'm having an issue with the XL pad I received and will be sending my whole kit to Shoei for a complimentary inspection

David D: Hi, a smaller pad would help but you might get you head squeezed a little. I bought a large one and my helmet does sit a tad lower, not so much that it's a bother. It lets me use my helmet all day without having any tight spots on my head. May 26, 2015

A S asked: Are the side "curtains" of the 5mm liner any thinner than the stock 9mm liner? Where is the 4mm thickness difference on the liner - back, top, all around? May 5, 2015
Answer this · Send to friends Good question? Yes (0) No (0)
James S: The way I understand it the 5mm is half as thick as the 9mm. Not sure about 4mm. If you install a 5 mm after wearing a 9mm you will notice a big difference in feel. 9 mm is equivalent to a XL and 5mm is a XXL. Hope this helps May 5, 2015

Gregory L: I bought this. My understanding is that it's 4mm less all around. I must just say that I bought the smaller cheek pads and that actually resolved my fit issues. I will keep the extra liner for a backup but I actually didn't need it. Buy the smaller cheek pads first and see if that sorts things for you. Also remember your helmet should be tight and will wear in. Your head should not move in the helmet with a fairly firm side to side pull on the chin bar. I had a fall where a helmet that did not fit me correctly (too loose) came off. Lucky I came out of it ok. Be safe & Ride Free ! May 9, 2015

Tim P: Yes the side curtains are thinner on the 5mm liner compared to the 9mm liner.
I would say the foam is thinner all the way around.

I ended up putting the thinner ear pads in and keeping the 9mm stock liner in.
Fits awesome.

A S: Wait. ear pads are the same thickness... there are no sizes for those. Do you mean cheek pads? May 8, 2015
Tim P: Yes I do, I ment cheek pads... May 8, 2015
A shopper asked: Does the thickness of the centre pad reflect on the sides at all, or the top only? I have an L with, I'm assuming the standard, 9mm liner, that occasionally causes pain from pressure on my right temple. Will getting the 5mm centre liner help with the thickness of the side liner (not the cheek pads, the side curtains of the center liner), or is side liner the same thickness on 5mm, 9mm and 13mm liner? May 5, 2015
Answer this · Send to friends Good question? Yes (0) No (0)
Mark T: I had a 13mm spare that I just took out of the package. I measured all around top, front, and sides. It measured 13mm all around. The lower back was thicker near the base of the helmet. I would assume the other sizes would measure equally also.
Hope this helps

A shopper asked: What is the difference between the Med 9mm and Med 13mm liner? Do you get more room with one or the other? Nov 18, 2012
Answer this · Send to friends Good question? Yes (0) No (0)
RevZilla: The bigger number the thicker the pad. You will have more room with the 9mm pad (4mm to be exact). Nov 20, 2012
