cheek pads great fit thanks i needed smaller one i had 35 size i order 31 great fit went in easy fast shipping June 8, 2015
wish they would offer them separate insted of having to buy a pair I needed to replace the lt side because I hung my helmet too close to by pipe and burned a hole through the covering and the padding. I paid a steep price for my mistake but It fits and looks like it should. This is OEM quality from Shoei. Allthough expensive, at least I did not have to replace the whole helmet. I am thankfull they offer replacement parts for my j cruise helmet. June 4, 2015
Added comfort to my J-Cruise helmet Purchased a J-Cruise helmet, size XL. Found the helmet to be tight on the sides. Purchased the 31m Shoei cheek pads and they did the trick. The helmet came with 35m cheek pads. The helmet is still snug, but comfortable. The replacement pads are of the same OEM quality and fit into the helmet as if the helmet came that way new. The RevZilla cash I earned when I bought the helmet took a lot of the price sting away. Wish Shoei allowed for cheek pad exchanges with new helmet purchases without needing to buy one for the correct fit. Overall, now it's a very comfortable helmet. June 1, 2015
poor fit I had a heck of a time installing these in a new J-Cruise. I almost gave up and sent them and the helmet back. I recently changed the cheek pads on my Shoei Neotec and it was a 2 minute job - easy in, easy out. The problem here is twofold as near as I can tell. The cheek pad plastic insert isn't formed or angled properly and something between the liner and the shell prevents them from sliding in. I struggled putting the original pads back in, but not as much. Just sharing this in case someone else encounters same difficulties. April 29, 2015
nice to have a Choise I chose the J-cruz helmet for several reasons. The ability to get larger or smaller internal pads was a big factor! The pads are well made and fit well. The installation is straight froward and completed in just a couple of minutes. July 28, 2014
Comfortable The Shoei J-Cruise, like most of the Shoei line for me, fits very tight at the jaw. In order to get a comfortable fit for the face the helmet would be just a tad bit large for the top of the head. These cheek pads do the trick! Adding a custom fit to the helmet sure makes a difference! June 9, 2014
Shoei quality Was good to be able to swap cheek pads and have the helmet grip my face a little tighter. material is same quality as OEM. October 21, 2013

RevZilla Store asked: Why did you choose this?
Rick G: Helmet too tight against cheeks. Aug 23, 2015
Richard L: The XL J-Cruise helmet is a little tight if you have huge chipmunk cheeks like mine. Jul 3, 2015
Howard B: The pads that come with it fits to sung that why i order the small ones for the better fit ONES COME WITH IT IS 35 MM AND I ORDER 31MM May 16, 2015
David C: I have always had to order the smaller cheek pads for my Shoei helmets. The standard pads always put too much pressure on my face to be comfortable for an all day ride. I have ridden with my new J-Cruise for a few days and it feels the same as my previous helmets so I have ordered the 31mm pads. Jan 19, 2015
John P: My original cheek pads were a little too snug. Great feature to be able to customize to your size more precisely
Nov 24, 2014
Tommy T: I chose this item to reduce the side pressure on my cheeks. I already replaced the center head liner with the thinner liner which made the gelmet more comfortable. Sep 11, 2014

Peter T. K asked: Hi all, bought the Shoei J Cruise in 2XL and love it for short and long distance riding. I still find the cheek pads a bit too tight. Do you know what size comes with the 2XL, and is there a narrower pair available? Many thanks, Peter Oct 3, 2013

James P: I believe the 2XL comes with 35mm cheek pads. Shoei makes 31mm cheek pads for the J Cruise helmet.

I have the 35mm pads and the 31mm pads. I am getting ready to cut the foam inside the cheek pad cover (after removing the cover). I plan to use brand new Xacto knife blades in whatever Xacto handles work best for me. I am going to make the 35mm pad foam approx. 17.5mm very carefully.

Lots of 11-day Iron Butt Rally participants trim the foam in their full face helmets in order to get a fit that they can wear for 11 straight 16 to 20 hour days.

You can imagine how painful a helmet that does not fit absolutely perfect can get 9 or 10 days into the competitive scavenger hunt style rally.

Larry S: I wear a XL in the J Cruise. Mine also was a bit tight. The XL comes with 13mm
and I bought the 11mm. The sizes are for each size helmet so be sure that you get the size for your size helmet exp: XL 13mm or XL 11mm.

Not sure of sizes for the 2Xl but if you take out your cheek pads the size will be on one them.

Hope this helps,

Larry S: My apologies. I was referring to the liner,my screw up. Look at cheek pads for size and get the next one down. World of difference. Once again sorry for the info on the liner.

ron m: I purchased a large helmet and after ninety days I had to purchase larger pads. Once they broke in the helmet had to much play. I was surprised at how much smaller they became after break in. Oct 4, 2013

marvin w: The 2XL comes with 31mm pads. As far as I know the only sizes for
the j-cruise are 31mm, 35mm, and 39mm, of which the 35mm and 39mm would only make a tighter fit. Hope this helps.

Nazir K asked: I am having a real hard time installing the thinner cheek pads to replace the original ones. Does anyone have any you tube videos on how to replace them? I am afraid of damaging the helmet by trying too hard. I see someone else made the same comments but others are saying it went in easy. Can someone share their replacement method with me? Thanks. Douglas H: WOW! It was some time ago that I did this. I don't remember any particular problem. I had done the same change with my Shoei Neotech a couple of years ago and don't recall having a problem. It would be helpful to know just what kind of trouble is being experienced.
My advice would be to take a close look to see how the original pads are installed and how they are removed.
As I write this, I do seem to recall that the pad change for the J-Cruise did involve a bit more of my patience, but nothing insurmountable.
Maybe a call to Shoei Customer Service is in order.
Sorry I couldn't be more help.
Good luck!

Scott T: I don't have a video but did install the replacement cheek pads into my Shoei J-Cruise. It did take me a little time, just go slow. Once you have attached one of the snaps feel around for the other attachment points to make sure you have things lined up before trying to snap. Once you have completed one, the other side will go easier.

The thinner pads really helped me, now the helmet is comfortable.

Good luck

Nazir K: Thanks Scott!
Did get the replacement cheek pads in and as you mention it helps to do it slowly and carefully and now everything looks good and the fit is so much better with the thinner cheek Pads.
Again appreciate your help on this.

Joseph S: It seemed difficult for me at first but I used the new pad as reference and visualize on how it fits into the helmet. It's not that difficult reallly, undo the tab buttons and pull up and inward the pad starting from either of the plastic ends.
