Shoei CW-1 Photochromatic Pinlock Faceshield for X-12 / Qwest / RF-1100 Helmets by Transitions
Transitions Photochromic technology allows visors to automatically and seamlessly change from clear to dark in sunlight. The process works when photochromic dyes embedded into the lens or shield react to UV light, changing levels of darkness with the sun.
When UV light is removed, a chemical reaction driven by ambient heat reconverts the activated photochromic molecules to their original, clear form and the lens fades. For more information on the Pinlock technology used on the CW-1 Shield, watch our video review.

Shoei CW-1 Photochromic Pinlock-Ready Face Shield
Dear Fellow Pre-orderers
Try not to cry Buddy! Just think of it as 6 month shipping. :D And if it makes you feel any better, you should know that the transitions that are in my glasses work fantastically, so it should be well worth the wait.

BRETT H: cause I'm sick of carrying around another shield. this is the best of both worlds.
if Arai would get on board with this vs. showing up really late to the party with their pathetic attempt at a tinted shield with their pro shade system which is comical at best then I'm sure Arai sales would go thru the roof. who wants to ride around at night with all that wind noise from the shield up. Arai helmets make enough noise as it is!Jun 23, 2014
Saewan K: Because I hate changes shields at dusk.May 27, 2014
Neal C: I have been wishing for a "transition" shield for my helmet since I first purchased it. If it works as advertised, my RF1100 will be an excellent overall package - no more switching shields when I expect to be riding in the dark!!!May 24, 2014
Chris P: I have a Lazer Monaco with the SolFX (Transistions) face shield. I love it so much that I almost never wear my Shoei Qwest, despite the Shoei being a more comfortable, quieter helmet. No wearing sunglasses under my helmet, no carrying around a tinted face shield and a clear face shield, no goofy slide down sun visor. In fact, this eliminates my other only real complaint about the Qwest, too; I call it the "fog master." Worst fogging helmet I've ever owned. Pinlock will take care of that.May 20, 2014
Martin M: Tired of changing from clear to dark and back every morning and evening, and it probably shortens lifespan of the mechanism (at did on my previous HJC)May 19, 2014
Since a Neotec is a model of Shoei helmet, so your answer is not useful, but as far as I have found it will not. I was almost going to get a Neotec when I saw this shield, but they do not fit.

Jeric H:This isn't the correct visor for the rf-1200. It's for the rf-1100. Neither of the visors have completed inspection per DOT standards which is why there is a delay on the release this month. Just have to wait or order from somewhere else. I am waiting but I canceled this order. Feb 25, 2014
Mike Z:Ordered the Photo chromatic a couple or three months ago for late Jan- early Feb. delivery. The last I heard was late May, maybe June. Still have my order in, but Shoei does not have a firm time therefore, revzilla cannot have a firm time. Not their fault, but frustrating.Mar 8, 2014
Steven H:CW-1 Fits the RF1100 not sure about the 1200. Also i ordered mine in Oct of 2013 told it would ship in Jan 2014 then it was put back to late Feb now they say late June. I hope you don't need it fast because it's not going to happen.Feb 25, 2014
James B:RevZilla -- Could you help us sort out our need to farkle?
I just reviewed the names and pics carefully. Apparently most Shoei lids will take CWR-1 inserts if they take a Pinlock. Unfortunately, the CWR-1 shield refers to the one fitting the RF-1200. The CW-1 shield fits the RF-1100. The shield raise mechanism is different, where the old CW-1 has two plastic semicircles, one toothed, molded into each arm of the shield. The new CWR-1 has only a smooth arm and two catches on the shield. This way, it's easy to tell them apart in pictures. This listing is for a "CW-1 Photochromic Pinlock-Ready Face Shield". However, the pictures of the product show a CWR-1 shield. Anthony's RF-1200 video said to look for the transitioning shield on the new 1200. So give us the final RevZilla word: is the Transitions Pinlock-ready shield going to fit the 1200 or the 1100? GraciasFeb 3, 2014
Michael D:No.. I thought the same thing and ordered this CW1 shield for my RF1200 by mistake.. The one you will need is the CWR-1 shield.. I have one on order now.. Can't wait! These shields are awesome!! My buddy has one for his Bell helmet and it's great- he never has to carry an extra visor in case we ride into evening hours.. Good luck buddy! Dec 31, 2013
