Shinko 010 Apex Front Tires
Not worth the savings
Tried these on my DRZ400SM to save a couple bucks and because they seemed highly rated. Maybe they just don't work well with the DRZ, but I found them to be horrible. I usually use Michelin's and have tried about four different types (PP's, PR's, etc..).
I don't think I ride super hard, but I'm not out for a leisurely cruise either. I found these Shinkos to have about 70% of the traction of what I am use to. Almost like early '90's tread compound technology. The front would always get a chatter push and several times both ends just let go completely, all at speeds and conditions on the same roads that don't even faze very well worn Michelin's. I tried different pressures too but to no avail.
Lifespan was rather limited for the rear as well. I got just under 1800 miles on them and the rear had not a lick of tread anywhere and I quit when it started showing belt (too far, I know). The front was still fine but starting to get a triangular profile.
In my opinion, the $100 savings wasn't worth the killjoy aspect. I wound up not having any confidence in them. I can't imagine trying them on a bike with horsepower. So if you ride mostly in the city and don't push much in the twisties and your main goal is just something round and black while saving some money, then these might be for you (although I still think the rear will square off rather quickly).

Great for the price.
Great tire. Great traction wet and dry. Only downfall is two ply. No complaints great tire overall and will last just as long as the top brands. Switched from Michelin. Good way to save money. Has an aggressive tread pattern. Riding on a k5 Gsxr 750.

good on a drz400sm
These tires have been good to me especially for the price. The grip is 90 percent of what I could do with pilot powers, but at my skill level it's really hard to tell the difference. I've had them on for about 1000 miles and they are wearing pretty slowly, which is good. I have taken them on dirt and they have been pretty durable so far on rock, gravel, mud, jumps. Overrall I will buy them again.

High performance, excellent value!
I needed a new front tire for my 02 954RR, and I decided to try the Shinko 010 Apex (friends recommendation). I was a little hesitant since I had not tried a Shinko tire in my life. I have used two other major manufactures tires almost exclusively in the past, but this Shinko does not disappoint. Great grip and very predictable. Tread life I put as average, as it seems to be wearing about the same as comparable tires. I am excited to swap the rear for a Shinko soon to see how it compares to the others. I would gladly buy this tire again!

I have used up plenty of different brands tires and found the shinko apex 10 to fit my needs the best. I ride hard in the tight turns in Calif and find the side walls very predictable due to their stiffness.
