Shark Speed-R Sauer Matte Helmet
Worst helmet ive ever owned, no customer service period
Hands down the worst helmet ive ever owned. The rear venturi came off around 140 mph. Once the rear venturi left the helmet air will not flow thru the helmet. Add that the helmet created insane buffeting after that too. But wait there's more! The "internal sun visor" is a complete joke. With the main visor down blocking all wind, the internal sun visor will deform and warp above speeds of 150 mph. Litterally you see visual distortion while it vibrates, i quit using the sun visor at any point i would surpass 100 mph. BUT WAIT THERE'S MORE... shark gave zero F's when contacted. They wouldn't even respond. The best answer i could get didnt even come from shark, it was other people online that needed to replace the rear venturi in forums. The general concensus is to ship this piece to france, and wait for it to be fixed.... its a few screws really? Just sale the rear venturi, if americans can save you from a world war im sure we can replace a rear venturi.

Helmet is worth the price
I have owned this helmet for 8 months and it is by far the best helmet I have owned. The padding is very soft and comfortable over long rides. One issue is that the padding is very thick, so the shell appears larger than many helmets and some downward vision is cut off because the shield is far from your face. This has never caused me any real issues. The visibility through the shield is amazing, it hardly fogs at all. When I first purchased the helmet I tried to put the shield down a few times because didn't think it was there. The added features are great; the internal sun visor is my favorite feature but the ear cut outs for speakers are awesome too. They completely alleviate the pressure my bluetooth speakers caused in my last helmet. I would 100% recommend this helmet.

In my 20 plus years of motorcycle riding, the Shark Speed-R is the best helmet I have ever owned.
The Shark Speed-R is light weight, comfortable and has great design features including the easy to operate internal shaded eye shield. The Air vents are engineered in a way that ventilates adequately and can be opened and closed easily while riding. I chose the Scott Redding Replica helmet and am very pleased with the graphics and outer shell durability. This helmet is highly recommended for anyone who loves motorcycling and wants to ride safely, comfortably, with durability in mind...and looking good while you do it.

I was excited to buy this helmet. It was my first full face helmet. The sun visor mechanism came in handy but after a while I found myself always riding with it down, so regular sun visor would do the job just fine. My dad bought the same helmet as we ride the same bike but we have different head sizes. No more than two months later problems started to occur. My dads visor is really hard to open and mine won't stay open. While riding on highway, the back plastic piece fell of my dad's helmet. Then I dropped my helmet while walking and the top plastic piece (ventilation) fell off. Really poor quality. And when we wanted to get it repaird, they told us it could take half a year.... WHAT?? (not Revzilla. Czech dealer)
So overall I would not buy a Shark helmet again. Not worth the money. Also I forgot to mention that it gets too hot in the helmet during summer.

I bought this helmet to replace my shark evo 2 ST and its so much lighter i hardly notice that i have it on my head sometimes. its also a lot more aerodynamic lane checks at 80 are a breeze.

This Helmet is the worst .. but it looks good ..
Had the helmet for three weeks and it has fallen completely apart. Im sending this helmet back to Shark soaked in urine... lol ... no I wont do that but I am sending this helmet back to shark ....
The helmet looks awesome ...
There is no air flow
The paint is like nail polish...
and it falls apart..within 2 weeks... the first part to go is the spoiler on the back then the front vent.. the visor will fail... the de-clicked shield will not stay up after you take it off the helmet ... it just falls down with ease now ...
but the helmet is so stylish and rare to see in the US.. I'm going to buy another shark .. just not this piece - o - shiz
It looks so good ..
Its fits like a glove
its light ... really light ...
Good wide vision
visor/shield tab placement is great on the side..

Easy to find/use sun visor
Built in sun visor is great. The slider on top of the helmet makes it easy to find while riding. I get lots of looks riding in the city.
My head was actually between a large and medium so I went down to a medium. The only problem I have with this helmet has to do with me having high cheek bones. It sucks to wear until it breaks in. Once broke in its amazing. I use it on all my long trips because of the slide down visor.
One of the other reviews mentioned they dropped theirs and some pieces broke. First off yes I think the pieces on the back feel like they would if dropped. Secondly, you shouldn't be dropping your helmet since even that can compromise the safety of any helmet
It is true that the visor is a pain to open. Just open and close it 20 times before wearing and you should be fine. Just remember they designed this particular helmet to either be open or closed not in between. It feels great in a full tuck.
Watch the video revzilla has, they're pretty spot on with their analysis of this helmet series.
Love that you can use eye glasses with it.

Great Helmet with a couple of problems
Overall I love this helmet. Really good design and look. It's comfortable with average noise level. The Pinlock visor is outstanding. I could not fog it up no matter how hard I tried. I also love having an integrated sun visor that's easy to put up and down. My only real complaints about this helmet are the face sheild is all but impossible to open with gloved hands due to the mechanism used to hold it closed. Very weird design and frustrating when trying to allow more air in by opening the face sheild. Also the sunvisor keep coming disconected from the small plastic lever that lowers and raises it via the top of the helmet. Poor execution on this piece. But it's still a very aerodynamic, well fitting helmet. Installing the Shark tooth system was a pain due to my difficulty reinstalling the helmet liner once the Shark tooth was in place. If they fix the 2 issues with the visor lock and sunvisor opening/closing mechanism and maybe decrease the wind noise (that 1 is asking a lot); it would be just about perfect.
