Shark Speed-R Sauer Matte Helmet
I bought this helmet to replace my shark evo 2 ST and its so much lighter i hardly notice that i have it on my head sometimes. its also a lot more aerodynamic lane checks at 80 are a breeze.

This Helmet is the worst .. but it looks good ..
Had the helmet for three weeks and it has fallen completely apart. Im sending this helmet back to Shark soaked in urine... lol ... no I wont do that but I am sending this helmet back to shark ....
The helmet looks awesome ...
There is no air flow
The paint is like nail polish...
and it falls apart..within 2 weeks... the first part to go is the spoiler on the back then the front vent.. the visor will fail... the de-clicked shield will not stay up after you take it off the helmet ... it just falls down with ease now ...
but the helmet is so stylish and rare to see in the US.. I'm going to buy another shark .. just not this piece - o - shiz
It looks so good ..
Its fits like a glove
its light ... really light ...
Good wide vision
visor/shield tab placement is great on the side..

Great Helmet with a couple of problems
Overall I love this helmet. Really good design and look. It's comfortable with average noise level. The Pinlock visor is outstanding. I could not fog it up no matter how hard I tried. I also love having an integrated sun visor that's easy to put up and down. My only real complaints about this helmet are the face sheild is all but impossible to open with gloved hands due to the mechanism used to hold it closed. Very weird design and frustrating when trying to allow more air in by opening the face sheild. Also the sunvisor keep coming disconected from the small plastic lever that lowers and raises it via the top of the helmet. Poor execution on this piece. But it's still a very aerodynamic, well fitting helmet. Installing the Shark tooth system was a pain due to my difficulty reinstalling the helmet liner once the Shark tooth was in place. If they fix the 2 issues with the visor lock and sunvisor opening/closing mechanism and maybe decrease the wind noise (that 1 is asking a lot); it would be just about perfect.

Ótimo capacete, bonito, confortável e com sua lentes internas muito práticas. Único detalhe que se usar balaclava ele fica um pouco folgado. Vai ter de usar sempre, Mas tirando isso, e um ótimo capacete. Recomendo!

Good in Theory, Bad Quality
When I opened the box, played with all the levers, and tested the fit I was quite happy. It's an attractive but not overly aggressive or flashy helmet. The weight was a bit more than I expected, but not excessive. Packaging and the included helmet bag was on par for a $400 helmet. Visibility and comfort were nice. I'm afraid that's all I have that's nice to say about the helmet.
Within a days use of the product the drop down sun visor mechanism broke. The tiny tab that held it in place failed. This was extremely frustrating. Thankfully, it was still cold and riding weather was still few and far between. Standard Shark warranty service is 4 weeks at least. Revzilla was easy to work with and accepted my return with no fuss. A month goes by and I had my helmet back... temporarily fixed.
I return home from an extended work trip to find it's riding season. I ride my bike for at least 4 trips a day when the weather permits. The sun visor mechanism failed four days into my work week! Totally unacceptable. Thankfully, Revzilla customer service came through and I'm moving on to a new brand.
The visor seal is very firm, but air seepage is persistent all around. In the summer you could call it good air flow. In winter I'd be concerned.
Shark logo on front are just cheap stickers. Simply bumping them with gloves while trying to work vent levers can lift them. Very annoying, and low quality feel.

Quality Issues, Poor Documentation
Let me preface this by saying this is the first helmet I have purchased. After searching for a helmet with the features found on this model I decided to buy it in matte black.
One of the first things I noticed was the terrible quality of the logo stickers. Yes they are stickers if you were unsure. One of the problems was they had some white fuzz underneath the adhesive. Second, they were already peeling on the corners. I don't mind logos much but these were not very well thought out or implemented. They also get in the way when cleaning the helmet. No doubt they would've fallen off in time so I removed them. It looks much better in my opinion.
For someone who doesn't have experience with helmets I would've expected some kind of user manual or basic instructions as to care of the helmet or the features included. Perhaps I just didn't get that but there wasn't any paperwork detailing care (removal of pads, how to care for matte finish, safety considerations). Seems a bit sloppy from any company.
As for the good things this helmet seems well made and it fits great. Haven't had a lot of time to test it but I expect it to work well. It also comes with a pinlock visor and cotton bag for the helmet. I'm pretty happy with it overall.
The last thing I'd like to say is it seems like the slider for the sun visor flexes a bit when moving. Feels like plastic that might break given enough time and/or pressure.

Quality Control = BAD
Had my Speed-R Sauer helmet for about 3 weeks before the pin that holds the hub in for the visor snapped. Had to return it to RevZilla since they handle Shark's warranty.
Even though Shark has a 5 year guarantee, their website is terrible and is mostly written in French. Warranty is handled through RevZilla, which is fine, but I'm out of a helmet for about 5-9 weeks (including a week to ship it to RevZilla - I'm guessing it takes another week for them to ship it to Shark).
I bought a reflective smoke visor for another $80 and it just sits around now since there's no helmet for it. Not sure what to do with it as I'd probably not buy another Shark helmet.
The front chin vent was cheaply made and was on the verge of snapping off.
The chin sock to keep the air out is cheaply made as well and fit on my some slight friction between the liner and the helmet. It always came loose and I was always afraid it was going to go flying off while on the highway.
The helmet is not as quiet as I thought it would be. Also the cheek pads are crazy tight. Not sure if you can adjust the size either.
And the VISOR. It's finicky to adjust the tightness. It doesn't stay in place. It kinda sucks. Really bad. The hub ended up snapping off in mine.
Would not recommend this helmet.

Awesome looks, c&$p quality
Ive had this helmet for 2 years and done 10,000kms with it.
Love the looks, love the fit just the quality let it down.
After 3-4 months the visor could not stay up, after a year the pivot snapped off meaning I could not ride with a visor. Under the large looking plastic cover there is a tiny aluminium screw maybe 1-2mm wide. I continued to use as a summer lid with sunglasses, the final straw was the hinges for the front vent snapping causing it to flap around.
It's also worth mentioning this helmet fouls on Alpinestars Tech 1-R jacket hump. Helmet size XL jacket USA 40.
It's a real shame as its a cool looking comfy lid.
