Shark Speed-R Duke Helmet
Not the color as shown in the picture!!!
I recently purchased this helmet in yellow (thinking it was more Daytona yellow going into a high vise fade) it is a very bright high vise yellow with no fading into darker yellow as the picture shows it to be VERY MISLEADING. This helmet is a very tight fit aswell which provides a discomfort in the upper cheek area. Delivery was something to be determined, it was ok for free I guess, my only complaint is they just dropped it off without wanting a signature. So anyone could have picked it up since it has a very very nice FLASHY REVZilla box that screams "expensive item inside please steal me." Overall I would recommend it, just be cautious about getting the color your truly after.

I ordered this item on Saturday morning and it arrived this evening, so it's not QUITE "2-DAY Shipping", is it? That said, it's free shipping so I can't complain.
It was a ridiculous hassle to determine the true color. Anthony says it's closer to red. There is a disclaimer on this page that says, it's closer to red. For a site with a color filter option, determining the color of a helmet should not be a hassle.
I ride a black and orange motorcycle. I live in the Bay Area. My favorite baseball team is the SF Giants. I have a black/orange jacket. I needed a black/orange helmet. Not a black and mostly red helmet. Not a black and called orange but looks straight up red helmet. Black. And. Orange. Helmet. Please.
Long story shortened, I called several of Revzilla's competitors and Revzilla asking someone to physically LOOK AT THE DARN THING! No one could because all the call centers were away from the warehouse.
I noticed that the "SHARK" lettering in the more orange colored pics was in white and the red helmet had black or antracite letters.
Revzilla has a reasonable return policy so I rolled the dice and took a chance. Much to my surprise, it's truly orange.
I have been riding since the mid '90s and all my previous helmets were Arai's. My last two were RX7RR's. My head is pretty spoiled. This helmet feels nice, the interior mesh is a bit "scruffier" than my Arai's but the fit around my crown and cheeks is similar. I have a round'ish head with round'ish cheeks. I feared the cheek pads would be uncomfortable. They are snug and firm, but not uncomfortable. There isn't any pressure points.
I wanted a helmet with a internal sun visor and I got tired of spending $800 on a Arai that "expires" after 5 years. So I looked into Shark. At nearly half the price of my RX7RR, this helmet is a great deal.
The pinlock lens is a nice bonus. I didn't get an option to order a color. Mine came with a yellow lens. However, if given an option, I probably would've went with yellow. At the shooting range I use yellow/amber lenses for increased depth perception. Yellow is also better for night vision.
However, the lens seems...foggy? Not in a steamed up way, but more in a blurry or old acrylic fish tank kind of way. I'm tempted to clean it with warm water and a microfiber towel, but I'm afraid I'll mess it up more. :\
I have not yet road tested this helmet because Revzilla demands items not be ridden with if it is to be returned. And since I didn't know what color the $400-plus helmet I just bought was, I didn't make time to test ride in case I had to return it. So, I don't really know how well it works with venting/buffeting/noise. Test fitted, it seems quiet enough. I'm not expecting a sensory deprivation chamber.
I ride an unfaired bike--HD Night Rod Special--and part of what drew me to this helmet is its claim to be aerodynamic and designed for unfaired bikes. My fairing is my head. :\
Revzilla offers it at a price most other cites do but rewarded me with $20 in-store credit on my next purchase. Also, Anthony's videos seem very even handed and fair--which made the whole "red or orange" fiasco more painful. Revzilla's competitors market EVERY item as if it is the BEST item out there. Which. Doesn't. Really make sense....I mean, if that's the BEST, then how....could the other one be...nevermind.
All in all, it is difficult enough to buy a helmet online with subjective information such as "intermediate oval" or "round to neutral" much more with the inability of anyone to tell you what COLOR the helmet will be. In that, I am very disappointed.
Fortuitously, this helmet is ORANGE and I am now pleased with my purchase. Great helmet for the price.

This is my second Shark helmet and the comfort levels and features live up to the description. I especially like the improved aerodynamics over the my old helmet. Buffeting is non-existent. It's a little heavier than the RSR2, but the fit is such that I didn't notice the additional weight. The sun visor clears my glasses and the optics on the primary face shield are exceptional.

I just purchased this helmet last week and rode from Charlotte NC to Atlanta GA, here are my thoughts.
Style: I have an orange honda cbr600rr and the orange duke helmet matched it perfectly. Its had darker grey reflective graphics and an aggressive style. The helmet looks bad ***. You can also just rock the internal sun-visor for the "Top Gun" look.
Visor: You have awesome vision and the visor has no warp at all. There is a thin groove around the inside of the visor that houses the anti fog insert (which comes with the helmet and is awesome) but sometimes when light hits the groove you get a bad glare which was a little annoying. This being said, there is an internal sun-visor which gets rid of the glare instantly. The sun-visor mechanism is on top of the helmet and easy to find with and style of glove. The action is very smooth to lock it into place. Taking off the exterior visor is extremely easy. Back to the anti fog lens, the helmet comes with one but you can buy multiple tints. The rubber insert is way better than any "anti fog lens" i've ever used.
Fit: The top of my head fit perfectly. I purchased a medium and im around a 7 1/4 fitted cap. However the cheek pads were extremely tight. After riding about 7 hours total over 3 days the pads are still very stiff. The inside of the helmet was very soft and made of comfortable materials. The helmet is also very light!
Airflow: The chin piece provides great air flow. I couldnt really feel the top at all. At just the right angle I can get the top vents to really let the air in, but otherwise it seems to not do to much. I ride with the chin guard on, but taking it off would obviously add more air flow.
-Awesome lens (antifog inserts)
-Internal sun-visor (and easy to use mechanism)
-Really stiff tight cheek pads
-Unimpressed with the shark fin airflow system
Would I recommend this helmet?
Absolutely! Once the cheek pads get worn in a bit ill be a happy camper!
Thanks guys I hope this helped!

Great features, Fit and Style.
Great Helmet everything I expected from A Shark. This is my second one and will not be my last Shark helmet either when this needs replaced it will be with a Shark. The air flow is better than expected, all I have to do is tip my head forward and the air flows down the back of my neck. Noise level is very low.

Looks great! Bit warm.
I had to get a small because medium was too big, at first I was biting my cheeks but the foam has formed to my face nicely.
Sena SMH-10 fits so well that it could have installed itself.
The colours of the black and white suit my bike really nicely and it is overall just a great looking helmet.
The dark tinted internal visor, I could never buy another helmet without one!
Visor comes off in 10 seconds for extremely easy cleaning.
That is all I can really say good about this helmet though.
The vent on top, I wonder if it is even a vent or if it just for looks, I get absolutely no air flow at 110km/h whether the toggle is forward or backward, leading to the top of my head getting quite toasty and uncomfortable on rides longer than an hour. (Note: This might just be a defect with my helmet and other helmets like it may work fine.)
The helmet is noisy, earplugs or music earphones make it a lot more bearable.
The visor has 2 things which I hate EXTREMELY!
1. The screws to tighten or loosen how easy the visor opens and closes always come loose after an hour or two riding, to a point where the visor has to be held open with your hand. Keep a 1.5mm Alen key handy if you plan to go on a long ride.
2. The stupid little clip to hold the visor shut is nearly impossible to get unclipped while you are wearing gloves, I never clip it shut any more because of this.
Looks fantastic, feels great and hugely comfortable, has an internal visor if you don't wear sunglasses.
Not great for long rides or hot days.
Ear plugs or earphones for music. Don't clip the visor shut. Keep a 1.5mm Alen key handy if you plan to go on a long ride.
Maybe try a Vision-R or a S700.
