This product has some flaws but only intercom for Half Helmets I could find for the Price. I purchased two the the Sena SPH10H intercoms, one for me and one for the wife. The Sena SPH10H Bluetooth Intercom for half helmets is pretty easy to install into the helmet, you have to use this tab insertion tool cover the velcro while inserting it into the outer shell, although the speakers don't seem to fit well into the chin strap v's on the sides of our helmets, a very tight fit, hard to turn the "jog Dial", cannot see the status LED which shows they are on without lifting up the chin strap. To connect them together by bluetooth was simple and hooking up our phones was just as simple. I took them for a test, and the wind kept turning on the intercom which can be turned off in the instructions, but was aggravating. The sound was very clear and had plenty of volume, I made a phone call through the device which took some practice trying to figure that out. I played songs from my phone and that was not bad, had plenty of volume, needs some BASS, way too much TREBLE. Thats about it, only had time to take it out and try it one time. I think it will work good enough to talk back and forth between bikes to the wife, and make and answer phone calls. November 24, 2014
It works well The wife and used them for bike to bike communication. A Little bit of road noise but when talking no problems battery will last a couple of days if you use it for talking only and still up to 12 hours if you want to listen to music. The phone communication was ok but nice to be able to call someone if needed. The range for bike to bike communication was perfect like it say few. Hundred yards no problem. September 29, 2014
Outstanding headset I got the Sena SPH10H head set like 4 other guys in my club and love it. It makes the long rides so much more fun. August 26, 2014
Much better than anticipated It's hard to buy products when there are both negative and positive reviews. I was skeptical when buying a set of these intercoms, but my fears were laid to rest! I love them! I make phone calls, send texts, use my GPS all through my iphone Bluetooth with this headset. Excellent intercom interaction with my wife. I do not have a stereo equipped bike and I play music from my iphone through the headset. I am extremely satisfied. It does lack bass for music, but it still sounds decent for such small speakers. Plenty of volume, I can hear clearly over the roar of my engine. August 25, 2014
Good sound at highway speeds Fit gets some getting used to. It had great sound at highway speeds. The battery life was good for the whole trip (charged daily). My wife found them uncomfortable and hot (we live in the deep south). I am more tolerant and felt they fit great. They did what they were supposed to do. August 19, 2014
Love this! My husband and I bought the Sena SPH10H Bluetooth Intercom For Half Helmets after receiving great reviews about them from others in our HOG chapter that own them. We were looking for a good communication device to use for an upcoming trip and decided to go with the Sena. This was my first long trip while riding my own bike (2700 miles!), so we wanted to make sure and get something good and dependable. It easily installed into our helmets - I wear a Bell Pit Boss and my husband wears a HCI (Vietnam Veterans). Even wearing half-helmets and with wind in the background, we were still able to hear each other. I did have to talk a little slower and at times I had to cover my mouthpiece with my left hand if it was really windy so my husband could hear me better, but that wasn't a problem at all. I also really liked being able to listen to music, especially during some of the long stretches of road. The Sena has many features that we are still learning about. As this is the first communication device that we've purchased, I can't compare it to any other brands but I can say that we really like it. It does what we need it to do and I would highly recommend it to anyone looking for a great intercom system for their helmets. August 4, 2014
Excellent Product!!!! I'll admit I was skeptical. Last rider to rider intercom I used with a half helmet was a very popular name brand and while it worked great at low speeds, anything over 40mph required cupping your left hand in front of the (already wind guarded) microphone for your conversation to be anything more than a distorted and garbled jumble of half words. Not so the Sena. Works VERY well right out of the box and conversations are clear all the way up to 65mph. I've found that it's better to wear earplugs, which I always do anyway, and it actually makes the headsets easier to hear. The speakers are small and consequently the sound reproduction is thin or tinny but the earplugs block the annoying high frequencies which allows you to turn the volume up and hold clear conversations. My primary reason for buying these was that my girlfriend is relatively new to riding and I wanted her to be able to ride in front of me so I could keep an eye on her as she improves her riding skills and offer tips, warnings etc. without the use of flashing headlights or handsignals. The Sena works perfectly and is without question, money well spent....that is of course until she uses the intercom to ask me "What are you thinking?"..but, the intercom does have a glove friendly, easily accessible off switch!! Wouldn't hesitate to recommend this headset. July 21, 2014
Powerful and surprisingly good headset I have to admit, I was a bit skeptical when I came across the Sena SPH-10H headsets - I had some serious concerns about whether a half-helmet communication system would be able to actually be used above 40 mph...but, the Sena's deliver and deliver very well. I purchased two sets, one for my wife and one for me, to use during our rides and they worked flawlessly at low speeds and even at highway speeds (around 70-75 mph). Speech clarity is very good at all speeds, and while the bluetooth audio lacks any serious "punch" (It's been likened to a transistor radio because it lacks any real bass response), it's still a very usable and desirable feature. Having the ability to pair these units with my iPhone is very handy and expands the range of travel options available to me - GPS, music, calling. I was able to make/take a phone call on the road without any difficulty and the caller had absolutely no trouble hearing me. The intercom usability range seems adequate for our riding needs (she typically rides "line of sight") and we experienced no audio dropout. To give you a sense if these will work with your set up, both my wife and I ride Harleys, her's a 1200 sportster with a windshield and slip-on Screaming Eagles, mine a Road King Classic with Vance & Hines duals and a touring windshield. Like I said, no problems with audio quality or the units themselves. One tip - if you are using these at highway speeds, they seem to work better if you wear some sort of earplugs to help quiet the wind noise. While I was able to still hear without earplugs at highway speeds, I did notice it took way more volume to overcome the outside noise. All in all I am very happy with this purchase and look forward to using them extensively in the coming months. June 29, 2014
