Scorpion Torque Jacket
Awesome and good bang for the buck
This was my first riding jacket that I still use. I had initially been on the ball between textile and leather, but as I have lived in mainly hotter areas (where the lows during riding months are usually in the 70's) I figured I'ld go with the textile.
Ventilation is ok, not great, but ok. While it works well sitting up, on sport bikes when you're crouched down the ventilated areas being closer to the arm pits will close up. They still work, but nowhere near as effective as if they had been put elsewhere. When sitting more upright, the ventilation works fine and gives you some air flow through your arm pits and chest.
Style is great. Simplistic, but still looks awesome. Padding is alright on the shoulders and elbows but is heavily lacking on the back pad. While the shoulders and elbow paddings feel rigid and I have faith in them, it feels like nothing more than a simple foam padding for the back. If buying this I highly advise people to upgrade the back pad.
I've also had this jacket for 2 years now and put hundreds of miles on it, through rain, sleet, hail, dust, etc. and it's still looking good as new. Fitting is also pretty good, it sits loose enough to be comfortable, but it's adjustable to be snug enough on you to not worry about it.
The one huge downside I'm only just now noticing is it's not compatible with most riding pants. It's not until recently I began looking for pants, and this jacket only has a single loop on the back to hook to. There are no zippers or additional hookup points. The only riding pants compatible with it are scorpian's which feature a back loop on the pants.
Overall for touring and daily commute, it's great. I've worn it going a bit crazy, but I don't advise it for any aggresive riding.

great jacket at this price point
I was looking for a jacket that would give good protection on the street but could also be worn when I get off the bike and not look like a total tool...I think this jacket in black/black fits the bill almost perfectly. I just did a nice 2 hour ride where it was 80 degrees when I left and 55 when I pulled in and I was not hot or cold the entire time with only a T shirt on under the jacket. I am 6'3" and 185lbs, athletic build, and the Large fits me perfectly. The only complaint I have is that the collar around the front of the neckline can sometimes irritate my collarbone a little bit....it's not terrible but sometime it's enough to make me pull down the front of the jacket a little for it to stop bothering me.

cool yet protective
got this as my first jacket and it is amazing! very durable, has a great quality to it and protection, love the easy zip in zip out vest for colder days ive worn this on long cold rides with a sweater and a thermal under and still has kept me warm but when it does get hot the vents are fantastic! fits great, looks amazing and love the little snap on the bottom back of the jacket to help secure it to your pants for protection and wind.

Good first jacket!
This is my first motorcycle jacket. I didn't want to spend $1000+ on a leather suit... Being a new rider I wanted to be visible, so I went with the hi-viz yellow. It does a great job at being bright! At night I compliment it with a hi-viz vest for more visibility.
Sizing seemed just right to accomodate a tshirt and a long sleeve sweater underneath for cold mornings when I commute. By cold I mean around 50+windchill of riding. It's a little chilly but not distracting. I have yet to ride in HOT weather but in 85/90 degrees it's comfortable as long as you're moving, the airflow is alright with all the zippers open if you've got a polo shirt or something light underneath.
I haven't gone down with it yet in the 6 months I've owned it so I can't attest to its durability but it does seem quality. No issues with the zipper or any seams. This is why I voted a "3" for durability.

this jacket is great and perfect for houston weather conditions..
i love this jacket ....wear it all the time!...during hot days when your in motion it provides an excellent amount of air flow through the vents....during rain it beats off the water quite well...still haven't used this jacket in the cold yet but its has a removable inner lining feature ..so when the time comes ill put the liner in and see how it holds up to cold weather ....the style and fit is excellent in my opinion

I bought this jacket in red last week and took it out on a couple rides yesterday. It was very windy and made the temperature feel a lot cooler than it was, probably in the lower 50s with high wind gusts. I had a long sleeve shirt underneath the jacket with the liner still in. I felt really comfortable and a friend who was wearing two sweatshirts said they were pretty chilled after we'd been going for a while.
The fit seems spot on from the sizing chart. Plenty adjustability to make room for a small sweatshirt underneath if the weather drops down past your comfort level. The only flaw I feel in the design is the jacket feels a little short standing up BUT it doesn't ride up when I sit on my R6. The belt loop button is nice piece of mind as well.
The airflow through the two large chest vents is phenomenal. Had them zipped all the way shut at first but the jacket felt like it wanted to balloon up a little. Opening the zippers up a shade solved this problem though and I could really feel the airflow around my chest and shoulders.
Overall I'm very happy with this jacket. At $150 I definitely feel like I'm getting more than my moneys worth! Thanks Revzilla!

Enjoying the protection, the style, and features for the cold/hot weather.
After 7 months of not having a jacket. I finally experienced the true meaning of cold weather while riding my motorcycle. I wanted a jacket that will help keep me a bit warm in cold weather and have air flow during the summer. A friend of mine said always get a size up. So I did. I'm 5'6 at 150 lbs, athletic built. The jacket has some space to it since its a Medium. When im not riding the jacket gets a little loose in the arm. Overall, get the right size for you. I love this jacket with the style and great protection. Its comfortable to ride, it doesnt give me any problem riding. I love the hi-viz it has during the night, so when im riding on base I wouldnt need to bring another hi-viz vest to put on top of it.

Have only used it in cold weather so far and it has kept me warm. It fits great. The pads are just where they are supposed to be too.
