SAS-TEC armor is made of a polyurethane foam material, without a hard shell or edges, which surpasses the required CE values by 50%. The closed air cells function by means of progressive absorption; the material is soft and flexible in its normal state but a sudden impact will cause the protectors to harden and absorb the impact without transmitting the force to the body.
Difficult to Position But Worth the Buy
It seems like others are also having difficulty positioning these pads "just right" and I am no exception. I feel like the overall fit of the Scorpion Covert Pro Jeans will dictate how effective these pads are for you. I have a 36" inseam and fill the legs of the pants like my typical jeans. Despite my height, I need to keep the pads at their highest position and don't see how this would work if my legs were any shorter.
My primary difficulty with these pads is keeping them towards the outside of my knee. I plan to attach velcro to the pads themselves to help keep them in position.
Overall, I am glad I bought these and will keep them installed in my riding jeans. I would rather these pads be "mostly in position" during a spill than not be there at all.

Good protection, great value
Purchased these jeans to go in my new Scorpion Covert Pro jeans. They are relatively easy to install, and after a few minutes I was able to get them to fit over my knee when sitting on the bike. They seem to fit slightly on the inside of my knees while on the bike, but I haven't been able to go for a ride yet so I can't say for sure how they will sit. Like the previous review, this would be more of a problem with the jeans than the armor.
Overall a good purchase!

Did not work for me with Scorpion Covert jeans.
While they seemed in the perfect location when standing, they moved up to my quads while riding. Also since the Covert Jeans are quite loose I think there is only a slight chance that these will be in the correct position if and when you were to fall on your knee. Maybe this is more a reflection of the jean design rather than the armor, but the bottom line is I could not use them or return them since they were used.

Jerry B: Old bones need more than Kevlar for protection! Even something as simple as taking a knee to check under something can be painful without a pad, and they are virtually invisible behind the clothing. What's not to love?Mar 31, 2015
James O: Recommended for the Scorpion Covert Jeans and not too pricey.Oct 31, 2014
Brandon G: I wanted to have the same level of protection I have on my dirt bike while riding my street bike. Having my knees protected gives me peace of mind so I can focus on riding vs "what ifs".Oct 30, 2014
