Crash Tested
So unfortunately I had to crash test these gloves.. I was driving about 40 mph on a road with no streetlights I came across a tree in the middle of the road and did not have enough time to react, when I did react, I grab the front brakes a little too hard and I went down on the left side. I slid and I tumbled.. luckily I am okay and am only a little sore with a sprained hand and a sprained shoulder from how I put my hand down when I hit the ground. The only damage to these gloves are some worn down areas from hitting the road and some obvious marks on the glove. no hole torn open in glove to expose skin so my hands are good to go! It saved my skin and possible bones! after hitting the ground at about 40 mph i think these gloves are awesome. btw, i own the white and they are cool!

great gloves
first of all these are my first gauntlet type of glove I've ever owned…and man for the price they cannot be beat…sizing is true…as if the motorcycle gods hand crafted and molded the glove just for you. and diving you hand into these lucious things is like dipping your hand into a pillowcase of puppies

second they hold up well..i went down on my r1 around 40 in a tight corner and these things didn't suffer any scuffs or tears. bulletproof. these things could survive hiroshima and cherynoble. maybe even the asteroid to kill the dinosaurs.

third…they don't flow air very well so best for non hot days or else your hand might come out smelling like satans bum

Early review
This is an early review on my day-old gloves that replaced a pair of Icon gloves that the stitching kept coming out of. For that reason I rated Protection & Durability at Average, as it's neither here nor there. I will update this review if they disintegrate in a month.

SIZING: My hand measured 8 1/2 inches around the palm, so I ordered XL, and they fit SNUG but NOT TIGHT, which is exactly what I wanted.

These appear to be thick, solid leather w/perforations, with no frilly lace vents to fall apart. (Airflow: Fair) They're lined with a fleece like material. Will probably really like that for our 40 degree southern California winter mornings. Maybe not so much in 100+ degree heat.

I hope the stitching stays intact for more than a few months (i.e. warranty period). It seems that's the weak point in most products these days.

Great buy for the price
I bought these ahead of a recent track day, and unfortunately, went down about halfway through the day. Gloves held up extremely well. Besides minor abrasions, they performed admirably. The only issue I have, is there is a pad that is situated right on the palm which interferes a little with resting your weight on the bars during long trips. However, I would also like to point out that during my crash, that was a perfectly placed impact point and the pad did its job perfectly. The tradeoffs we make for safety... All in all, good buy, not the most comfortable on earth, but certainly protective and appealing.

Best Gauntlet Under $100
First the CONS, if I may call it that.
- The gloves, while pre-curved and feels somewhat broken when new, will take a few rides to truly break in. Feels a bit stiff and slightly difficult to move your fingers and ball your hand into a fist. I was worried this would be a permanent problem but after a few rides, the gloves were broken in and now they fit...like a glove :)
- If you are buying the white gloves, don't expect them to be paper white. While they are white, they aren't a super clean white.
That's it for the negatives and it's really nothing more than nit-picking.

The PROS
- The gloves look great and look just like the pictures.
- The fit is perfect. I have had other cut off gloves and gauntlet gloves that are not true to size. These gloves run exactly the way they should, and more importantly, true to the sizing chart provided.
- While I have yet to go down, and I hope I don't, the protection looks top notch. The back knuckle protection looks and feels like a million bucks, there's an additional layer of leather reinforced behind the knuckles of each finger as well.
- Most gloves offer great protection for the knuckles and back of the hand but talking to, and watching videos, most of the damage seems to happen to the palm and this is where these gloves excel. There is leather to reinforce the most vulnerable part of your palm and that's the area below your thumb and then there's also reinforced leather by the upper palm area (where you would have callouses).

If you are looking for a great pair of street riding gloves that will cover your entire wrist (gauntlet), give you great looks as well as protection to match for under $100, I would definitely recommend this glove.

Good value for a street glove.
Have ridden with the gloves for about 1,000 miles. Initial fit was good if a bit snug, break in was quick. Good feel for the grips and levers. Only complaint has been with the knuckle protectors, after about 100 miles or so into a ride I felt they were a bit tight across the knuckles, particularly on the small or "pinkie" finger knuckle. I do like the gloves and will continue to wear them. Good value for the price.

Good disposable gloves for one season
I bought these because of good reviews and a nice price. After less than a year the stitching in the fingers is coming apart. I'm glad I never went down with these on. I think they would have come apart completely.

An entry level price point for a full gauntlet glove.
Christophe J on Mar 4, 2016
Had good reviews, is a 3/4 (near full) gauntlet, has good protection, and couldn't beat the price on anything. Thought about going with the Alpinestars SP-1 for the pinky finger bridge protection, but decided this were better to start out on.

needed a milder weather gauntlet style, and this one was a steal. Great glove, the stitching on the left hand index finger began to come off, but that was with about 6 months of rigorous riding. overall, a great glove that's comfortable and meets my needs and style.

Great price for a well put together glove. I love these gloves during the fall and colder months. I could even wear them in summer on my sport tourer. But not that I have hand guards installed, they get too hot on warmer days. If you want a semi gauntlet glove, you'll be pleased with these. No wear and tear after months of daily use.
David P on Jun 11, 2015
Gloves are very comfortable. Like the protection they provide and were allot of bang for the buck.

Tyler K on Apr 26, 2015
I wanted a full gauntlet that allowed some breathability without sacrificing too much. Something to take to the canyons and not after to worry if it would protect me in a crash.

It did! I low sided after hitting a patch of gravel on Hwy 74 (ortega highway) a few scuffs on the hard bits from sliding across the rocks but I had no injuries. Not only did the gloves protect me but they did not seem to diminish in any way besides cosmetic damage.

Would highly recommend these as summer gloves.
Andrew L on Apr 19, 2015
I wanted a gauntlet glove and didn't want to spent allot these were priced very well. they also had several good reviews of people that had wrecked in them and they offered good protection.

Price and apparent quality. After less than a year of riding the stitching is coming undone. Spend a bit more cash and you won't have to buy gloves every year.

I a new rider looking for a sub-$100 gauntlet and am trying to decide between the Scorpion Guardian and the Speed and Strength Lock and Load. What do you guys recommend? I'm open to other suggestions too!
A shopper on Apr 12, 2014
BEST ANSWER: I have been using the Scorpion Guardian gauntlets for a little over a month now. After the first couple of rides I had a few sore spots on my knuckles, but once I got them broke-in they are super comfortable. The vents on the knuckles allows me to wear them on hot days too. I highly recommend these gloves. Great glove at a reasonable price.
Do you find the sizing chart to be accurate?
A shopper on Jul 15, 2014
BEST ANSWER: I wear a large for my Teknic gloves, so I went with a large in these. A little snug at first, but after a few lengthy rides they were broken in and felt good. I tried XL in A?'s and Teknic, and they were a little on the big side. Great gloves for the price. Hope that helps.
I have had mine for about 1 month and the velcro on the wrist cinch has given way and will not connect to itself. is this a common problem, or do i have a bunk pair?
Beau M on Dec 29, 2013
BEST ANSWER: The threading on mine between the fingers was undone upon arrival. I have since returned mine, I think they are made with poor quality, which explains the price. If you can easily repair them, keep 'em. If not, then send them back and try again. I am planning on buying another pair myself. Hope this helps.
Does the molded hard knuckle protection on these gloves or similar ones cause your knuckles to bruise?

I currently wear a pair of Frank Thomas Rage gloves with carbon knuckle protectors. I've worn them for not quite 10 hours during the MSF basic course, and I noticed that my middle knuckles were getting pretty red, sore, and bruised. Maybe my gloves are not quite broken in yet, or they just don't fit well enough. Perhaps it's just a fact of life with ALL gloves that have hard knuckle protection?

My only concern is the fit on this product; they seem to be pretty good quality otherwise. Seemingly good looks, good protection, and good construction, all wrapped up at a nice price point.
Phil is Kill on Jun 13, 2014
BEST ANSWER: I have never had that problem, All the gloves I've owned have had hard knuckle protectors. Either your gloves are too small or you"re gripping the bars too tight, common problem for new riders. Are you forearms hurting as well?
Does the molded knuckle protection on these gloves or similar ones bruise your knuckles? My current full gauntlet gloves (Frank Thomas Rage) have carbon molded knuckle protection, but after a while of riding, my middle knuckles get sore and bruised. Is this just a fact of life when wearing gloves with hard knuckle protection?

Maybe they'll fit better after really breaking them in; I've only worn them for maybe 10 hours or so. Maybe my current gloves just don't fit right and I should get a new pair. These gloves have the protection and looks I want at a price point I'm happy about; I'm just worried about the fit.
A shopper on Jun 13, 2014
BEST ANSWER: No, it doesn't cause my knuckles to bruise. I worn them for a 8 hour trip, 400 miles. & they felt comfortable to accommodate that trip.

*Tip: if you're going to be riding in wet conditions. I suggest you get a size smaller. The leather does break in & stretch a bit. Or now is bigger than when I bought it.
How will these gloves fair in hotter riding such as 80-90 degree California weather?
Brandon N on Apr 12, 2016
BEST ANSWER: Personally, I thought they breathed decently for the amount of protection they offered. I ride in Japan where it's hot and incredibly humid - never had an issue with sweaty/smelly hands. :)
This glove or the SG3 short cuff? I mostly commute to work. No track or touring. Suggestions? Thanks!
A shopper on May 26, 2015
BEST ANSWER: These are nice but the cut-off is my favorite glove. I did, however, have to re-adhere the velcro at the wrist of the cut-off but other than that the gloves have proven to be terrific.
I'm trying to decide between this glove and the Cortech Latigo RR gloves. They are the same price and look to offer similar protection. Wondering if anyone has tried these and/or the Latigo RR and could you compare the two? Thanks!
Fred R on Aug 26, 2014
BEST ANSWER: I've only tried the scorpion gloves. The first couple of times I wore these my knuckles were raw. After they were broke in, they are very comfortable. I use them all year. Very good glove for the price.
