Great gloves! The gloves are comfy, look cool, and would probably do well to protect you in a fall. The plastic logo plate on the outer forearm of one of the gloves stays flat and does not curve with the outside edge of my forearm which is slightly awkward at times. Other than that, two thumbs up. Early review This is an early review on my day-old gloves that replaced a pair of Icon gloves that the stitching kept coming out of. For that reason I rated Protection & Durability at Average, as it's neither here nor there. I will update this review if they disintegrate in a month. SIZING: My hand measured 8 1/2 inches around the palm, so I ordered XL, and they fit SNUG but NOT TIGHT, which is exactly what I wanted. These appear to be thick, solid leather w/perforations, with no frilly lace vents to fall apart. (Airflow: Fair) They're lined with a fleece like material. Will probably really like that for our 40 degree southern California winter mornings. Maybe not so much in 100+ degree heat. I hope the stitching stays intact for more than a few months (i.e. warranty period). It seems that's the weak point in most products these days. September 27, 2014
Comfortable and Purposeful I wear the gloves for commuting and for fun riding every so often. They are nice and comfortable, I am riding in the PACNORWEST so there is a good amount of rain and that is not a problem for these gloves (Hands stay dry and not frozen). They are probably more protection than I need but better safe than sorry. September 26, 2014
Great buy for the price I bought these ahead of a recent track day, and unfortunately, went down about halfway through the day. Gloves held up extremely well. Besides minor abrasions, they performed admirably. The only issue I have, is there is a pad that is situated right on the palm which interferes a little with resting your weight on the bars during long trips. However, I would also like to point out that during my crash, that was a perfectly placed impact point and the pad did its job perfectly. The tradeoffs we make for safety... All in all, good buy, not the most comfortable on earth, but certainly protective and appealing. August 25, 2014
great gloves Scorpion really came out good with this gloves, went down on 45 mph and scraped both palms of my hands. And I'm still wearing them up until now there we're minor scuff on both gloves. The only down side, not enough ventilation the holes lookes like they used a nail on it lol. The velcro started wearing off after a month of use. Besides all that I will probably buy another pair and I wish they made them a Lil longer like a normal racing gloves. August 7, 2014
This product is sleek and sophesticated Awesome, great value per buck. Comfortable and stylish at a bargain price. Love it ! July 28, 2014
great gloves first of all these are my first gauntlet type of glove I've ever owned…and man for the price they cannot be beat…sizing is true…as if the motorcycle gods hand crafted and molded the glove just for you. and diving you hand into these lucious things is like dipping your hand into a pillowcase of puppies second they hold up well..i went down on my r1 around 40 in a tight corner and these things didn't suffer any scuffs or tears. bulletproof. these things could survive hiroshima and cherynoble. maybe even the asteroid to kill the dinosaurs. third…they don't flow air very well so best for non hot days or else your hand might come out smelling like satans bum July 25, 2014
Very Nice Leather gloves for under $100. That is a great price. I am glad I bought these gloves. Very comfortable. After measuring my hand the chart showed I should buy a large, so I bought the large and they fit a little snug, but they will stretch a little and then fit perfectly. Scorpion made a really great product at a nice low price. Would recommend to everyone. July 10, 2014

A shopper asked: I a new rider looking for a sub-$100 gauntlet and am trying to decide between the Scorpion Guardian and the Speed and Strength Lock and Load. What do you guys recommend? I'm open to other suggestions too! Apr 12, 2014

Joseph N: I have been using the Scorpion Guardian gauntlets for a little over a month now. After the first couple of rides I had a few sore spots on my knuckles, but once I got them broke-in they are super comfortable. The vents on the knuckles allows me to wear them on hot days too. I highly recommend these gloves. Great glove at a reasonable price. Apr 12, 2014

Luand G: Haven't tried the lock and load. But I can tell you The Guardian is a good glove for the price. I have been wearing it not for past month and have nothing to complain about. Its going tol be great in the summer due to the about of air it lets in. The protection is also where you would need it. Thats my opinion. Good luck. Apr 12, 2014

Christopher P: I'm not too savvy about the lock and load gloves, i never used them, but i did buy the Guardians. Those were the best fitted gloves on me, feels great riding in them, they offer excellent protection while still giving decent control feeling in them. I highly recommend those gloves to anyone. Hope that helped! Apr 16, 2014

Grant G: I'm a new rider as well and the scorpion has been a great first glove... It's got good protections, feels great, and breathes pretty well... Can't speak about the speed and strength glove but you can't go wrong with the scorpion... Apr 12, 2014

Reesey L: I wear a large for my Teknic gloves, so I went with a large in these. A little snug at first, but after a few lengthy rides they were broken in and felt good. I tried XL in A?'s and Teknic, and they were a little on the big side. Great gloves for the price. Hope that helps. Jul 16, 2014

Roland M: Sizing chart is indeed accurate but I went with one size down to get a very tight fit and went with a Medium. Even with the medium I still find a lot of play in the thumb. But the gloves are comfortable you should have no issues with sizing if you base it on the chart. Jul 15, 2014

Ronald Scott H: I would say the size chart is accurate. Keep in mind, it's an American fit. If you wear a medium in firstgear or AGV, it would fit similar to that. If you wear a medium in dainese or alpinestars, a medium in the scorpion would probably be a bit big. Jul 15, 2014
Brendan M: Yes the sizing chart is accurate. I bought a large based on the sizing chart and it fits perfectly. Jul 16, 2014

Beau M asked: I have had mine for about 1 month and the velcro on the wrist cinch has given way and will not connect to itself. is this a common problem, or do i have a bunk pair? Dec 29, 2013
Answer this · Send to friends Good question? Yes (0) No (0)
Christopher P: The threading on mine between the fingers was undone upon arrival. I have since returned mine, I think they are made with poor quality, which explains the price. If you can easily repair them, keep 'em. If not, then send them back and try again. I am planning on buying another pair myself. Hope this helps. Jan 2, 2014

Phillip N asked: Does the molded hard knuckle protection on these gloves or similar ones cause your knuckles to bruise?

I currently wear a pair of Frank Thomas Rage gloves with carbon knuckle protectors. I've worn them for not quite 10 hours during the MSF basic course, and I noticed that my middle knuckles were getting pretty red, sore, and bruised. Maybe my gloves are not quite broken in yet, or they just don't fit well enough. Perhaps it's just a fact of life with ALL gloves that have hard knuckle protection?

My only concern is the fit on this product; they seem to be pretty good quality otherwise. Seemingly good looks, good protection, and good construction, all wrapped up at a nice price point.

Christopher P: I have never had that problem, All the gloves I've owned have had hard knuckle protectors. Either your gloves are too small or you"re gripping the bars too tight, common problem for new riders. Are you forearms hurting as well? Jun 15, 2014

Reesey L: I used these for a track day and 2 Street rides so far and I have not had any issues with discomfort or anything like that. These are a great quality for the price. They offer great protection. You won't regret the purchase. Jun 14, 2014

Masanori M: I own this gloves and very comfortable. The hard knuckles sits on their own so do not rub against your knuckles. So, soft & everything works very well. Jul 11, 2014

A shopper asked: Does the molded knuckle protection on these gloves or similar ones bruise your knuckles? My current full gauntlet gloves (Frank Thomas Rage) have carbon molded knuckle protection, but after a while of riding, my middle knuckles get sore and bruised. Is this just a fact of life when wearing gloves with hard knuckle protection?

Maybe they'll fit better after really breaking them in; I've only worn them for maybe 10 hours or so. Maybe my current gloves just don't fit right and I should get a new pair. These gloves have the protection and looks I want at a price point I'm happy about; I'm just worried about the fit.

Pete S: No, it doesn't cause my knuckles to bruise. I worn them for a 8 hour trip, 400 miles. & they felt comfortable to accommodate that trip.

*Tip: if you're going to be riding in wet conditions. I suggest you get a size smaller. The leather does break in & stretch a bit. Or now is bigger than when I bought it.

Roland M: The fit is great and I really like the gloves. I've had absolutely no pain where the armor hits but my only complaint is that the thumb doesn't fit as snug as I'd like. Seems like there is always a half inch of spare room in that area. But given the price point... hard to complain. Jun 13, 2014

CARLOS Z: Actually after wearing these gauntlets for a few weeks they still bruise my middle knuckles quite a bit. i usually use them to go to work or cruise around the city sometimes, but nevertheless they still bruise me a bit. Hope this helps Jun 17, 2014

Fred R asked: I'm trying to decide between this glove and the Cortech Latigo RR gloves. They are the same price and look to offer similar protection. Wondering if anyone has tried these and/or the Latigo RR and could you compare the two? Thanks! Aug 26, 2014

Joseph N: I've only tried the scorpion gloves. The first couple of times I wore these my knuckles were raw. After they were broke in, they are very comfortable. I use them all year. Very good glove for the price. Aug 27, 2014
