Scorpio SR-i900 Security System

The Scorpio SRi900 Security System introduces the next step in motorcycle security by incorporating the convenience of hand free operation to an ultra-compact 2 way FM paging security system.

By utilizing RFID technology the system is able to know when the remote is in range, allowing the user to never have to reach for the remote to arm it. The SR-i900 transceiver is capable of receiving alarm triggers from up to 1/2 Mile away from the motorcycle.

For its sensing mechanism, the SR-i900 utilizes a built in accelerometer that detects both impact and changes of angles with a high degree of accuracy. This allows the module to be placed in any position or mounting angle.

SR-i900 includes TRS-9 remote transceiver, charging cord, MCM (main control module), RFID antenna,  universal installation kit, accessory harness and main harness.

Features:

  • Ultra low power drain main control module (MCM)
  • Built-in 120 dB multi-tone siren with soft chirp arming
  • Auto or manual arming and disarming
  • Dual-axis accelerometer for detecting impact
  • Ignition circuit sensor
  • Range and signal status display
  • Compact design (3 11/16" x 2 3/4" x 7/8")
  • Sensor violation display
  • Audible/vibrating alert
  • Smart Battery Safeguard with sleep mode
  • Motorcycle battery voltage display
  • Remote motorcycle finder/panic alarm
  • Optional Scorpio Multi-Stage Perimeter Sensor detects motion around the motorcycle
  • Optional Scorpio Ignition Disabler allows disabling of the motorcycle's electrical system and prevents "hot wiring"
  • Optional Scorpio Factory Connector Kits are available and plug directly into the factory harness making installation fast, clean and easy

Fitment Notes & Exceptions

  • Requires splicing of OEM wiring harness.
  • Alarm systems should not be used in conjunction with a Lithium Ion battery because of the constant parasitic electrical draw. Use with a Lead Acid battery instead.

Getting the job done
The installation was relatively straightforward, and I consider myself a noob when it comes to this type of thing. During the installation, the alarm was accidentally triggered, and it was VERY loud. Scared the $@#* out of me! I almost exclusively use the manual on and off function, and it has worked flawlessly. Tonight, my alarm was triggered, and when I ran out to my bike (less than 100 feet from my office), I found a guy crawling under a nearby gate and he kept running. Based on the distance of the kickstand from the kickstand plate that I use, this possible would-be thief moved the bike only an inch or two before he triggered the alarm. So far, I'm very satisfied with this product, which I installed a few months ago, and I feel it was money well-invested.

Revzilla Kills it
Awesome product! After my bike got knocked over during the night, I said enough with people trying to steal my stuff. Purchased this alarm from revzilla with the proximity detector and haven't had a problem since. The only problem I've had is my neighborhood kids like to play with the warning beeps by creeping up on my bike and running away before it goes off lol. The system is LOUD! Everyone in my complex doesn't even want to go near it because it annoys them (good thing too). The remote battery last two-three weeks. Works well with a cover, jacket, helmet, and/or bag on it. Proximity detector does pick up rain, but other than that it's awesome! Don't wait till someone knocks over your bike to purchase it.

Great alarm system for my motorcycle!
I bought this product from revzilla.com and it’s a really great alarm system for my motorcycle. It’s very very easy to install and very reliable. If you finish the installation and the alarm doesn't work as is expected, remember to do the encoding of the remote (page 12 in the user's manual). The perimeter sensor is great and you can turn on/off as you like from the remote.

Two additional comments:

1. In my case I’ve bought the Factory Connection Kit for my Yamaha R6 and it was 100% unnecessary. You can do the same thing with the standard Connection Kit provided for free with the alarm.
2. For my the only feature that is missing in this alarm is the capability of turn off automatically the motorcycle and trigger the alarm when the motorcycle is running and remote control is no present. This is in case of hijacking the bike when you’re on the road.

Great Alarm, But...
I bought this system after the cruiser I used as my commuter got stolen. I also purchased the remote ignition kill switch, perimeter sensor, and wire harness separately. To install the kill switch I had to study the wiring schematics for my new bike and do some splicing, but it wasn't too bad. I was able to tune the perimeter sensor without too much trouble.

I've been using this system for almost a year now and I still have the bike I installed it on; so I assume it's doing its job. I also supplement this alarm with a rotor lock as well. Everything together was pretty expensive, but it's better than getting raked over the coals again by my insurance.

My only real complaint about this system is the CHEAP build quality of the power supply for the remote transceiver (fob). Beware... the wiring sleeve on the power cord of my power supply was brittle and broke easily and so now the wiring is exposed. Still charges for now. I'll have to see about what to do to replace it.

Hope this helps and ride safe.

Not 100% on it yet, however...wouldn't go any other way
Bought this with the oem ready scorpio wiring harness for my 2009 kawasaki ninja zx6r. Breeze of an install no need to pay like 400 bones at a shop to have them do it.

As for the alarm it's self:
-rfid is a nice feature but I left it unplugged because I like arming and disarming the alarm myself. Makes me sleep better.
-features of remote are easy to use and directions help so I had no issues learning to use it. Screen lights up and dims when not in use to save battery. No complaints there....except...I've noticed sometimes that the remote screen will slightly flicker and I'm not soo sure why.

-shock sensor: my least favorite feature. Wanted something that would scare off a kid or theft who simply touched my bike. Even at the most sensitive level you must kick the tire before it goes off or tilt it up (setting of tilt sensor) before it goes off. I mounted it exactly how it asks and it is touching both frame and fairings of my bike but I can't get it more sensitive. I'm planning on getting a proximity sensor and setting it very low that way you have to be nearly on the bike for it to go off. I didn't want to do this because many people have to walk by at work and I didn't want it constantly going off. But at a loss there not sure what's wrong or if it's user error.
Other than that, love it for sense of security plus people think it's bad af when they see you arm and disarm a bike. Also I still use my onguard chain and abus disk lock in tough areas but I feel confident with just the alarm some times. I recommend anyone who doesn't trust people and knows how easy it is to steal a bike get this. One may also look into the gorilla alarms. Way cheaper but the shock sensor is amazing no matter where placed.

I live in an apartment. The remote will let me know if the alarm goes off, even I if don't hear it or know it's my alarm that's going off. When combined with the perimeter sensor and ignition disabler, it's about the best security set up you can get without a monthly subscription.

Why is this product $30 more than the one on their website? Same system.

Besides $100 what is the difference between the 900 and the 900r version?
Alexander U on Apr 13, 2014
BEST ANSWER: The R version comes with the perimeter sensor and ignition disable modules.
Does the alarm unit itself (the part that you attach to the bike) have to be charged? Or does it connect to the bikes battery?
Elijah G on Jan 24, 2016
BEST ANSWER: There is a wire hooked up to the alarm that has a washer at the end of it. You just put it in between the battery, the line to your bikes systems and the bolt. Powers the whole thing.
Will this work for a 2013 BMW f800gt?
Brandon H on Mar 27, 2015
BEST ANSWER: Yes it will, you just need to find a good mounting position for the system. Just as a heads up, unless you get the factory connector kit you will need to splice wires. But you can give Scorpio a call and see if they can get you a factory connector kit for your bike.
Does this system fit a 2015 BMW s1000rr ? Is it plug and play ? And being that BMW is technologically sensitive, will it throw a code on my dash ?
peter b on May 22, 2016
BEST ANSWER: Yes it will fit your bike using the universal harness, the BMW-1 factory harness year range has updated to fit up to 2015. If you use the universal harness tap into your license plate light for switch power.

I was wondering if this could be used on a 2014 hayabusa? If so how easy is it to install?
chance f on Jul 19, 2016
BEST ANSWER: IT really works any bike, it splices into your battery, a ground wire, your tail light, and both turn signals. But I had mine taken off because I think it was messing with some of my electrical stuff so I took it out, I honestly can't recommend it because I believe it did $500 worth of damage to my bike.
Can this or the R be installed on a 2013 Breakout? Thanks
Kendall R on Nov 2, 2015
BEST ANSWER: Yes, the SR-i900 can be installed on the Breakout utilizing the Universal Harness.
It says it can receive alarm triggers from up to 1/2 mile, does this mean that I can also disable it from this range?
Christian B on Sep 15, 2015
BEST ANSWER: No, the fm transmitter won't transmit from the keychain that far due to battery and transmitter size. Depending on the terrain I get about 50 feet or so.
Any information on installing on a Triumph?
A shopper on Feb 24, 2015
BEST ANSWER: I don't have a Trumph, but I installed mine on a BMW S1000RR. T/he size of the actual unit is pretty small and I was able to install it under the seat behind my battery. I hade just enough room for the unit and wire management. It was very easy to install and only took about an hour. Most of the time was planning where I wanted to install it. Hope this helps.
