Schuberth SRC System for C3 Pro

The new Schuberth SRC for C3 Pro is a communication system which is integrated into the acoustic collar of the Schuberth C3 Pro Helmet. You can install it in your helmet in just a few minutes according to the plug & play principle, and it is connected to the antenna integrated into the C3 Pro as a standard feature.

Feature Summary:

  • Intercom between rider and pillion passenger

Intercom:

  • Up to three motorcyclists can communicate simultaneously with the SRC-System
  • Under ideal conditions the range is up to 700 meters
  • Range of up to 700 metres depending on the terrain and visual contact
  • Automatic re-establishment of a connection when it is cut off
  • Automatic connection set-up by speaking
  • Automatic connection shut-down after 30 seconds silence, two-channel system for communication

Phone + GPS:

The connection between a mobile phone with Bluetooth capability and SRCS is extremely simple to set up. Incoming calls can be accepted with a voice command and using the keys of the SRC-System. This also applies for navigation devices with Bluetooth capability. After the SRC-System has been connected to the GPS device, the rider can receive the voice instructions conveniently over the two ear-phones. Simple control possible by means of voice commands (VOX).

MP3:

Most commonly available MP3 players can be connected to the SRC-System via the multifunctional USB interface. If the MP3 device supports Bluetooth A2DP technology, no cable is required.

VHF Radio:

The integrated VHF radio now enables you to listen to your favorite station and important traffic announcements while you are traveling. The antenna which is already integrated into the C3 Pro as a standard feature guarantees top-quality reception at all times. Thanks to the RDS function the strongest signal for the selected frequency is always picked up, even at high speeds. You can store up to six radio stations.

  • High-speed selection of the six strongest radio channels in the vicinity at the press of a button

ACC (Automatic Gain Control):

  • The SRC-System™ adjusts the volume automatically according to the background noise

Good product, but overpriced for what it is... When I had an android phone, I usually had to shut down the app and restart it several times to get it to connect, when I got an iPhone, it connects easily every time. I remember reading that this has no bass, but I almost always ride with earplugs in and the sound is actually pretty good. I've only used the phone feature a few times but it's been clear and the other party couldn't tell I was on the bike. FM reception was a little spotty with the helmet but using the app it's good. Haven't used the intercom system so I can't comment on that. Overall I've been impressed with the battery life as I've only had to recharge 3-4 times in the 2 months that I've been using this. Overall, I'd recommend this-there are other BlueTooth devices that would probably work just as well, but this one fits like it's supposed to and is made for the helmet, not some glue-on addition. It was a little bit of a bear to get fitted, but not nearly as bad as I was expecting and once it's in it's in. November 16, 2015
Tough one to review - Does it work? Yes if you persevere. Setup with what i think would be the standard configuration for most users (integrated GPS/Radio with Cellphone - Helmet. Im a tech/gadget freak, and i love this stuff, however setup is not easy, despite Schuberth manual, BMW forums and just plain stubbornness. I think i have achieved 75% of configuration. Music and phone calls from Phone come thru headset, GPS from bike, doesn't come thru - yet, its only been 2 weeks, so i guess i need to persevere a little longer October 19, 2015
Good intent, poor execution. This product is not Mac compatible thus must be upgraded on a PC which I don't have. It is not compatible with Cardo Smart Set. C'mon Schuberth, this is 2015 not 1995. The buttons are nearly impossible to use with gloves on. I would not have bought the product had I been aware of any of these. It does fit the helmet and neck well. But the tip of the retaining ring has broken off already. Oh well! September 30, 2015
The Struggle This review is about the helmet and communication system together!! Frankly, I was surprised that at this price point I'd be having as many problems as I am. I purchased this helmet with the C3pro SRC system. For a German product, which usually signifies great attention to detail, check this out - and this goes for everyone: My helmet is a size 63 and the SRC system is a size 65. It doesn't fit cleanly into the helmet. The system is PC only, no Mac/Apple computer (desktop) support after featuring the iPhone/iPods prominently in videos. What does this mean? It means I wrote the generic Schuberth northamerica email account (only one provided on the website.) I wrote TWICE in 10 days. I never received a response to my first email. The second email was answered advising me to join the Cardo website for updates. Suffice it to say, after registering and successfully "updating" my helmet software, I still (to this moment) couldn't get my helmet to pair with my Lollipop Samsung Android phone. Bluetooth pairing requires a password. After finding the helmet I immediately get a warning that my password is incorrect and there was no pairing. I realize this might be the phone's BT software glitch. Still, I rebooted the entire SRC system, twice to make sure it was as up to date as possible (s/w v. 1.1). Interesting that the PC version of the software is 3.2 as listed on the Schuberth website, with some great features. I am not sure why after all of this my Android BT or the helmet isn't at the 3.2 s/w mark. However, all of this said, I would really like this helmet to work, so I will find a PC and attempt to update my helmet again. I know I won't be able to update this review. However, warning to Apple computer owners who have Android phones. You won't like this system. August 24, 2015

Outstanding, I really love it so far! It was a little difficult putting the collar in it proper place, just took time and had too have good finger straight. The rest was very easy. Once done it was done. Learning the button operations can be challenging but once you use it and learn it it really works well, love the sound quality and features, Best I have ever owned. Must Have! Very nice addition to go with your awesome Schuberth helmet. Of course it's on the pricier side, being a Schuberth product, but always worth it to me. It was a little difficult to get on, but not hard to figure out. I like the auto volume adjustment feature for when the background noise is quiet or loud. I don't really care for the microphone since I don't talk on the phone while riding, but it's nice when you know someone else with a Schuberth helmet who you can intercom with. June 30, 2015
Easy instalation OK, I was really wo9rried about ionstalling the sound system in my helmet but is was/is super easy! My overall impression is bgreat but as wioth all the helmet sound systems the volume and clarity of sound is not up to J&M standards!! I like this setup because it is made for my Schuberth helmet but they really need to up grade the speakers! That being said, it is still way better that the BMW communication system. June 16, 2015
