Schuberth C3 Pro / C3 / C3W / S2 Pinlock-Ready Face Shield
Iridium Clarity and Darkness
The iridium shield is absolutely awesome! It's as dark as my Maui Jim sunglasses if not a little darker. The clarity is fantastic as is the lack of glare.
Eye fatigue was not an issue during a three day, 963 mile ride. It's worth the extra money.

Blue Mirror Visor: the tint is exactly the same as Schuberth's light smoke visor. Not Super Dark / Not Super light. Works awesome.

Mirrored Blue Visor
I bought this visor to ride in the bright sun we have here in Miami. I could not get comfortable looking through the slide-down dark visor inside the C3 Pro. Probably because I was riding my Softail and I sit pretty much upright. The built-in visor would probably be OK if you ride a bike that has you angled forward.
This visor makes riding in the bright sun so much better. So far it has held up great. I clean it with only warm water and mild soap and the finish is still perfect.

It's a OEM faceshield What else is there to say?
It's a Schuberth faceshield for a Schuberth helmet. What more needs to be said?

Light smoke visor perfect shade
The light smoke visor is the best one. It takes the glare off your vision unless extremely bright, then just pull down the internal shade visor. The light smoke tint also makes the helmet look better.
Way more expensive than other brands, you have no other choice though!

Clarity is exceptional
Of Course you are limited with your helmet model for shields. As with everything Schuberth they are expensive. That being said the clarity of the shield is exceptional.

Brenden C: Needed a Dark Tint shield to combat sun on my face.Sep 8, 2013
Keith V asked:I have a face shield that is scratched, and will replace it soon. My question is about the inner pin lock lens - is it possible to remove it successfully and use it on the new face shield? Does the silicone bead remain usable? Thank you for your reply.Dec 18, 2013
My experience is that the "inner pin lock lens" can be removed from the old scratched lens and installed on the new lens. Remove the "inner pin lock lens" from the scratched outer lens by putting the outer lens on a table on a towel and spreading it to remove the "inner pin lock lens"
Wiped each piece to remove all finger prints.
Lay the new exterior part on a table on a towel.
Lock one end of the inner piece in place.
Spread the outer piece against the towel and at the same time push the inner piece toward the end that is locked in place. The inner piece may bow away from the spread outer piece a little. Once the inner piece's end that is not already locked in place is lined up and started on the pin collapse the hump on the inner piece and let the outer piece go back to its normal shape. I don't know if I explained it very clearly but that is the process I used.
Where I think I made a mistake is with the clear clear silicon bead that is on the "inner pin lock lens" and goes between the two lenses. The clear silicon bead seemed to be dirty so I cleaned it off. Now my lens fogs up. My guess is that there are two things between the two lenses. A silicon bead to create an air space and a wax like substance on the silicone that seals the system.
Mark G:Yes the silicone beed is reusable. Just be very careful how you remove it and do not use any cleaning products to clean, just water and a microfiber. The inside has a antifog coating thats very easy to scratch or streak rendering your pin lock useless.
ANTHONY M:Yup...exactly what I did. Replaced external shield and separately, replaced inner lens.
Be careful in handling...too easy to leave fingerprints on inside....but design makes replacement easy.Dec 18, 2013
A shopper asked:Schuberth C3 Pro Modular Helmet face shield. I am in Phoenix and the clear shield allows to much of the sun rays onto my face. Even with the tinted visor down it's too intense when its about 100 degrees. In looking at the replacement face shield there is no info on UV protection. Is there a way to get more detail around the various replacement shield?Oct 12, 2013
Walt C:I did research on shields a few years ago because I had melanoma on my face. After spending a lot of time I found that "all" shields of all brands of helmets are in excess of 99% UVA & B proof wether lexan, plexiglass, whatever. This info is available from the plastic manufacturers also, i.e. DuPont etc..
Schuberth is a great helmet with a great shield. Anyone with glasses that change shade in the sun will attest to the fact that their glasses do not change behind a shield. That's because UV changes the glasses and the shield blocks the UV rays.
Robert B:I have a C3-Pro with a dark faceshield and I ride in central AZ in the summer. The tinted shield lets enough light/heat in I can't imagine wearing a clear faceshield during the day in the summer in AZ. The Schuberth tinted faceshield is not as dark as my Shoei X12 shield You can always drop the inner sunshield for added tinting although that gets pretty dark unless the sun is directly in your eyes. And yes it provides full spectrum UV protection. Nevertheless I always wear sunscreen on my face when riding -- why take any more chances than we already do?Nov 25, 2013
Michael M:The face shield comes in thre colors Clear, Shaded and Dark, i have the shaed and it works well dark enough for sunny days and clear enough to use at night, when it is really bright and snny putting down the drop down visor is a big plus,, I haven't tied thedark thinking it might be too dark in combination with the drop down visor and then would need to change it at night, te shaded stas on alll the time, that way i do n ot carry an extra shieldMay 19, 2015
jeffrey b asked:Is the blue tint as dark as the iridium? I like the iridium but the tinting is pretty dark for autumn sun light intensity. I'm looking for something in between the light smoke and the iridiumSep 16, 2013
Steven P:The blue tint is the same as a standard smoked lens. I think it would fit the bill for what i believe tou are looking for. It is perfect for any daytime riding conditions short of major storms. Obviously, not great for night time, but passable in a pinch. I use this same shild as my go to for daily commuting. Don't forget the pinlock visor. It makes this the perfect visor system.Sep 20, 2013
Steven P:Yes, the blue mirror has a great tint for all around riding conditions during daytime. I wouldn't wear it in a severe storm or or night, but during they day it is perfect and falls exactly where you want it to in the spectrum mentioned in your question. Enjoy.
